Yay! Eating food! Alone...

Danica sighed as she headed to the cafeteria. How could she be this tired? She hadn't even stayed up that late!

She grabbed a tray and headed down the line of food. Half-conciously, she slapped two pieces of pizza down on a plate and put it down at the first table she came to, which happened to be empty.

Then she got back up and filled a cup with vanilla cappucino. Mmmm... that always woke her up.

She propped her head up with her hands and took a bite of pizza, washing it down with cappucino.

Dani wished she had someone to talk to. Eating by yourself was boring.

Aiva walked into the cafeteria and scanned the room. There weren't many people, considering it was still a bit early in the day.

She noticed a girl sitting alone at a table eating pizza. She debated in her mind whether to approach the girl or not. She reminded herself that she was starting a new life. She needed to be more outgoing.

She gathered up her courage and walked over to the girl.

"Hi, I'm Aiva. May I join you?" She asked timidly.

Danica looked up to see a girl. "No, I hate you," she said, glaring. Then she grinned. "Of course! Sit down."

She finished chewing the bite of pizza in her mouth and swallowed. "I'm Danica. Or Dani, I don't really care. Are you new here?" Dani hadn't seen the girl around anywhere.

She looks nice, Danica thought. Maybe we'll be friends...?

Aiva was a little taken aback at the girls comment, then realizing she was joking, she sat down.

"Yes I am new here," she replied. She looked like a nice girl, and she seemed to have a sense of humour. That helped relieve any tension Aiva was feeling. "It's nice to meet you Dani."

Whew, that wasn't so bad, she thought to herself, See Aiva, making friends is easy!

"How long have you been her for?" She asked Dani.

She smiled as the girl sat down next to her. "I've been here for awhile, since the beginning of the term. You'll like it here. It's not as weird as it seems."

Danica sipped her cappucino. "Mmm. What are your powers?"

Then she stopped. "Oh- and what's your name?"

"My name's Aiva. I'm sorry, I didn't realize I had forgotten to introduce myself." She blushed with embarrassment.

"I only have one power, really. Invisibility. I've had some training in martial arts, before I came here. What about you? What are your powers?"

Danica smiled. "It's cool, Aiva. Pretty name."

Invisibility? "Awesome! It's be so fun to be invisible... and with martial arts, even better." She laughed. "My powers are light. I can make it darker or lighter whenever, or I can make lights that only I can see. My grandman taught me how to use my powers."

Danica smiled. "It's cool, Aiva. Pretty name."

Aiva blushed at the compliment. "Thank you very much."

Invisibility? "Awesome! It's be so fun to be invisible... and with martial arts, even better." She laughed. "My powers are light. I can make it darker or lighter whenever, or I can make lights that only I can see. My grandman taught me how to use my powers."

Aiva wished she had someone who could teach her how to control and use her powers properly. Unfortunately she had to teach herself.

"That's great. Did your grandmother have the same powers?"

Danica nodded, answering Aiva's question. "Yup, my grandma has light powers, too. It's in our genes or something, but it skips a ton of generations at a time."

She nibbled more of her pizza, pulling off pieces of onion and setting them on her plate. "Do you know where... or who you got your powers from?"
