Appearance Description:
As a shapeshifter, he has no set appearance, or gender. But for better identification inside the school as member of the teaching staff, he has given himself an identity. He goes under the name of Xandiel Ashenthal, is about 1.90m in height and looks like early 30s. He has long black hair with a white streak above his right eye. His hair is tied up in a ponytail. For clothes, he wears a royal blue, long-sleeved shirt and usually a black and white coat without sleeves on top of it. His pants are of the same color as the shirt and a pair of long black boots finish the look. His wrists are adorned with large shackles which he uses for alchemical purposes.
Personality Description: Xandiel is an eccentric person sometimes, very serious about his craft as a master of unconventional magic. He is very detail oriented, regardless of his identity, and tends to sometimes lose himself in his own explanations. Nonetheless, he always cares about those willing to learn from him and makes sure to have them understand everything they want/need to know. He also prefers practical over theoretical teaching, saying that "in order to have the students learn the best possible way, have them be thrown right into the collateral damage for the best possible view". He has horrible memory when it comes to things like names or dates, even forgetting his own birthday when it comes up.
Species Abilities: Absolute Shapeshifter
Like the rest of his kind, Xandiel is able to assume almost every shape. He cannot take on the shape of beings he hasn't seen himself (pictures don't count) and he can't take on the shape of any creatures extraordinary large or small (no kaiju and no microorganism). Also, the larger the form, the more fragile it becomes, with the limit being about an adult western dragon. Anything above that he'll collapse into a smaller form at even very little physical impact on him.
Powers: As a teacher and master of his craft, Xandiel is capable of Unconventional Magic, which is divided into the following:
Traditional Alchemy: Through the use of transmutation circles, he is capable of transmuting almost any object, with specific effects depending on the size of the circle in relation to the size of the object (if the circle is larger than the object, it affects the entirety of the object). He can change the shape of the object, revert a broken object back into its original shape if all pieces are present, can change the material an object is made of while following the rule of Equivalent Exchange. Any transmutation using alchemy can be reverted by an alchemy process of the same type.
Ritual Magic: Xandiel can, with the respective setup, cast spells much more difficult than would be possible. Ritual Magic is the most complex of the UM and requires a lot of things, including a spell circle, various objects with mana affinity (depending on the spell cast) as well as payment in from of life essence. The limits on a ritual is set by the amount of life essence paid to circumvent the original cost. Rituals that are of the size of realm warping spells as well as spells of cataclysmic proportions are impossible for Xandiel to perform in his own, even if he ever were to trade his life for it. Ritual Magic is very delicate in that all objects need to be present and even the slightest disturbance can disrupt/interrupt an ongoing ritual.
Enchantment Magic: Xandiel can magically enchant objects and give them various properties, depending on the Enchantment and amount of mana put into it. Like with Runic Magic, there can theoretically be a maximum of seven enchantments in place but due to the consumption of mana of each enchantment, no more than four is realistic. A basic enchantment is made to last a day but can be made to last up to two weeks depending on how much mana the object is infused with. However, since the mana is distributed equally across all enchantments, the duration is divided by the number of enchantments placed. An enchantment can be removed by either destroying the object or using dispel magic, with the Dispel having to exceed the amount of mana used for a single enchantment (hence why enchantments are rarely ever used in bulk).
Runic Magic: He can use runes carved or drawn into/onto objects and infuse them with mana in order to trigger certain effects. Strength and effect depend on the number of runes and complexity of runes. Though the number of runes depend on the size of the individual rune as well as the size of the affected object, there can be no more than seven effects in place at onces, though these effects can be written with more than one rune. Runes can be removed depending on the type. A drawn rune can as simple as be wiped away while an etched or carved rune can only lose effect if either the stored mana is removed or the rune itself is either broken apart or scratched until the rune lost its shape.

Biography: Originating from Earth, Xandiel was a student at Starlight Academy before and after a long journey out of boredom, he decided to put the knowledge accumulated to good use and applied for a teacher position at the same school he once learned at. Also, he wants to teach the upcoming generations about the use of unconventional magic compared to the "much more common noisy and flashy spellslingers who call themselves "mages".
