"'Originally pure Kitsune?'" Ellyn quoted, uncertainty clear in her voice and the way her eyebrows lowered. "Do you know the difference between a Kitsune from Japan and Kitsune from the other parts of the world? What differentiates a pure Kitsune to an impure Kitsune? Aren't Kitsune who end up in various regions of the world still considered Kitsune?"
Ellyn didn't ask so much about the Okami; she'd only ever heard the word 'Okami' in a video game, and it had nothing to do with foxes or Kitsune. One step at a time.
Back on the subject of the tsunami, Ellyn sighed softly, more to herself than Akane. "They are. The school has protective magic around it both, so it's easily looked over by the mundane world and to protect it from natural disasters, but the tsunami wasn't natural. It broke through Manta Carlos' wards, and no one was prepared for it.
"As for why I wasn't in the mountains with everyone else. I was trying to get there with someone. We just got hit by the tsunami, anyway." She smiled humorlessly, "I didn't choose to be hit by the tsunami, it just sort of happened. We were fine, for the most part." Here, Ellyn's face reddened a little.
