William timidly opened the door to the library, and almost immediately, his eyes went wide.
The first thing he noticed was the apparent change in sound. The almost near silence was replaced by the constant buzz of quiet conversations. The second thing he noticed was the large, nearly floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. His eyes scanned them longingly. He didn't even know that these many books existed in the world.
Will found himself inside the library without even remembering stepping in. The amount of books at his disposal held him in a trance. From where he stood, he could see books of many varying sizes and colors. There was enough content to quench his thirst for knowledge for a few weeks.
"Wow...." he muttered to himself.
Suddenly aware of the fact that he was gawking, Will shook his head and moved forward. He rubbed his finger along the binding of a few books, reading their titles. His mind automatically mouthed the words, subconsciously practicing his English. A small smile formed on his lips as he realized that he recognized all of them and could sound them out easily.
Will continued browsing absentmindedly until he stumbled open the nonfiction section. This was the section he had come to the library to find initially. He plucked out a few books on topics he had never seen. They consisted of things such as WWII and the Cold War. Wars had been a particularly interesting topic since Will had first heard about.
Finding an amount of books he thought to be sufficient, he sat down at one of the many tables and got to reading. He absorbed the information gratefully. The tattoos on the back of his hands glowed up whenever he read a fact that particularly surprised him.
