Anna loved her job. She got to perform in fancy outfits, and hone her musical skills as well as her powers. Tonight, her set had been performed in a flowy blue gown, and she'd accompanied herself with a beautifully-crafted harp. She was happy here, on the stage, singing to her heart's content to a very appreciative crowd. Things were great.
Well, maybe not super great. Anna had been dealing with a lot lately. She sighed as she sat at her dressing station backstage between sets, staring at her grey mood-bracelet as it sat in front of her. She wondered how James was doing. He hadn't been talking to her much lately. Not answering her calls or her texts. She hadn't even seen him around campus. Was Mari keeping him from her? She felt sad when she thought about it. She wasn't sure whether to leave him alone or confront him about his prolonged silence.
Then there was June. Oh, June, the perfect red-headed man who had stumbled into her life and stolen her heart. She was crushing on him hard, but she hardly ever knew what to say to him. Anna tried to be herself when she was around him, but he made her all...flustered. It was exhausting, literally; every time she spent time with him, she'd end up feeling weirdly tired afterwards.
With nobody else to turn to, Anna went to Vanessa's office and asked the big security guard if she was available. The woman had become more or less like a mother to her, teaching her about being a siren and all...she wanted to talk to someone about all of these things, and Vanessa was the perfect person to turn to.
