He felt lost. No, more accurately, he was lost. The dark-haired youth fiddled with the pendant hanging around his neck for a moment and glanced around nervously. His sister had already been taken to the female dormitory, but no one had come for him yet. He had only a single bag with him; the rest of his belongings had been delivered to the dormitories already, but he had no idea where they were, much less how to get there.

"Excuse me," Elisha said, floating over to the lady at the front desk. "I..." He glanced around again, his focus refusing to stay put. So many strange people, strange smells and sounds... it would take him weeks to get used to this new place. "Am I supposed to wait here for someone?"

<div align=center>There was something strange about this boy, somehow, something felt different, but Bill couldn't quite work out what it was. He tilted his head to one side, he remembered being in exactly the same situation, it must have been a few weeks back, now, he thought. He smiled softly, he didn't exactly know his way perfectly yet, but maybe he could be of some use. He pondered the notion for a moment, staring at the boy with soft, dark doe-eyes. His brow furrowed, he still didn't understand what about him was different, but there was something, William had never felt the sensation before.

Confusion was practically radiating off him, it was making Bill's head hurt a little, he shook his head a little, trying to shake the feeling from himself, without success. He remained in the doorway he was currently lurking in, he was supposed to go and meet Gabriel, but he didn't think he'd mind if he was just a little late, he could always explain what had happened. Bill pushed himself off the door frame, his long legs kicking him into an almost lazy sort of stride. He stood next to the new boy for a moment or two, still staring at him, he still couldn't understand what was odd about him, it frustrated him, William hated not knowing things he felt perhaps he should know, he deemed himself an intelligent individual, which for the most part he was. "Hi," he greeted, one hand moving up to adjust the foil hat atop his head, he had half a mind to take it off, but that wasn't the way to treat new people, hi my name is William, please, don't mind me while I break into your mind and uncover your deepest thoughts and memories! "You need some help?" He asked, softly.</div>

Before the lady at the front desk could answer him, a boy appeared in the doorway. Elisha tilted his head to the side slightly. "That would be much appreciated." His voice was still tentative and barely a whisper. He took another moment to study the newcomer, taking in all sorts of details: his clothing, his face, the way he was standing... most seemed fairly normal, with the exception of a shiny metal hat.

As normal as this boy appeared on the outside, Elisha could sense something strange. In fact, he sensed something strange coming from many of the denizens of this unfamiliar place. Not hostile, just... different. His sister, despite her constant paranoia, seemed at ease here, so maybe he could afford to let down his shields a bit, as well. He extended a gloved hand to the other boy. There was no sense in being rude. Not when he had his gloves on, anyways. He wasn't sure if they'd block communication completely, but he'd tested it out and it seemed to dampen his ability to hear other people's thoughts and emotions. "My name is Elisha," he began. "And what would you like me to call you?"

<div align=center>A coy smile crossed the tall boy's features, he extended his hand, and shook Elisha's cautiously, William didn't generally talk to people so quickly, but he'd remembered how he'd felt on his first day, he'd gotten lost more times than he could count. "My name is William," he answered softly, noticing the other boy's eyes flicker to the hat on the top of his head, though he didn't choose to say anything about it, most people thought it was a little strange, and he supposed it was if you didn't know what it was for. He'd also lost count of how many he'd been through, he lost them easily and seldom found them again, they were easy to make again, after all, so he didn't really mind.

Bill's eyes shifted to the boy's ears, they looked unusual to him, but he disregarded it, he'd seen far stranger things already, and far scarier things if he'd dare say, his best friend had a pair of wings, and he'd thought he'd seen a boy with antlers somewhere around here. "You're nervous." He stated, the shy smile upon his features changing to a slightly more reassuring one, "don't be," he rubbed the back of his neck, "it's not as scary here as it looks." He spoke softly, he'd always been a quiet boy.</div>

"William..." Elisha echoed, then took a moment. For a couple seconds his eyes were closed and his head, tilted back slightly. Information like this always took some time to recall; after all, if it wasn't used regularly, it just got shoved to the back of his memory. After a moment, his eyes snapped open. "Like your hat!" he exclaimed, a shy grin on the corners of his mouth. After a minute, he regained his composure. "I... am a bit nervous... Is everyone here... you know... strange?" Perhaps it wasn't the best word to use, but hopefully it got his point across. He bit the inside of his lower lip. At this point, anything to avoid another disastrous attempt at mental communication.

<div align=center>William let out a quiet, awkward laugh, and smiled coyly. "It's of more use than it looks..." He mumbled, blushing a little, taking it off gave him a headache, a friend of his had witnessed what happened to him when he didn't have it, unfortunately for William there had been a lot of people around at the time, the ending result hadn't been all that good. His eyes flickered to Elisha's gloves, though he didn't say anything about them, he'd seen far stranger things than a pair of out of place gloves, regardless of the fact he hadn't really been here all that long.

Is everyone here... you know... strange? Bill let out a soft trail of laughter, and lifted an eyebrow at the other boy, "Strange?" He asked, his eyes settling on Elisha's, he considered himself normal among most of the other students here, you have no room to talk. He thought, eyeing the way Elisha was dressed. "Like me, you mean?" There was a hint of laughter in his voice as he spoke. He dropped his hand from his neck, and slid it into his coat pocket, it was cold around the school, and William had decided to keep the parka on rather than not, he didn't want to risk getting sick.</div>

The short boy smiled. "I guess strange is not the best word," he admitted after a moment. Back home, everyone seemed normal and he was the one who was strange. Well, he and the rest of his family. He glanced around the office. This place had an entirely different feel to it. It was not hostile, like his old school had been, nor was it familiar and comforting, like home. It was cold here and he pulled his long jacket in closer to his body and shivered.

"So, uhm, where are you headed to?" he asked.

<div align=center>The boy smiled a little, he knew Elisha hadn't meant any harm, he didn't feel malicious to him, and Bill felt comfortable around him, or at least as comfortable as he could feel around strangers. He saw the boy shiver, it was one of the reasons he tended to wear a coat around the school, especially during the winter months. Bill was dreading the snow, as much as he liked being out in it, the boy hated the cold and far preferred to hide underneath the blankets of his bed. "I think different is perhaps the word you are looking for?" He asked, tilting his head to one side.

Where are you headed? Bill took a moment to answer, "well, uh..." He cleared his throat, absently tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. "I was heading to the dorms, actually." He returned, "I'm supposed to be meeting someone for a, uh... Date," he stuttered, and flushed a little, though he wasn't sure how much of a 'date' it'd end up being, he was short on funds, and could really barely afford necessities, letalone anything else. He coughed again, it wouldn't really matter if he was late, Bill got lost a lot anyway, so he was often late to things.</div>

"To the dormitory?" Elisha glanced out the window. It wasn't snowing at the moment, but that didn't mean the white flakes would not start falling from the sky in the next few minutes. "May I follow you?" The lady at the front desk had never said anything about a guide and, if he had one, he'd not yet shown up. I mean, not for your date, but... I just don't know how to get to the dormitory from here... and I'm really bad at maps... The last little bit of his thought was purely mental, but directed at the other boy, a little test of his own to figure out a bit more about William.

He had a hunch, an idea, a hypothesis. And any hypothesis merited an experiment to prove it true or false. Human experimentation was something generally frowned upon in the sciences, yet it seemed perfectly legit in the field of psychology. This... was more of a psychology experiment. Based on William's reaction - if, indeed, there was a reaction at all - he would be able to figure out a bit more about the other boy, and, perhaps, about this place.

<div align=center>William thought perhaps that what Elisha had suggested was a good idea, the boy shrugged, "that's not a problem." He smiled softly, his eyes flickering over to where Elisha was looking, the next thing the boy said made William laugh, though had he really said it? Bill shook his head, no, he hadn't. He took the foil hat away from his head, folded it, and slid it into the pocket of his coat, merely so he wouldn't lose it. Well I'm sure Gabriel perhaps might have something to say about that if you did, however, what you're actually asking of me is fine. He stared at Elisha, lifting one eyebrow, a mischievous smirk crossed the teen's face, he leaned forward a short way. Do you know where you're sleeping?

That was the strange vibe he'd been getting from Elisha, he was a telepath, that's interesting. The boy thought to himself, he had not yet come across someone else with the same 'gift' as him, not that Bill saw it as a gift, his powers were a curse and he refused to see it any other way. It was odd to feel the presence of another mind that could see into his, and perhaps a little unnerving, now he perhaps knew how Gabriel felt around him, maybe he'd apologize to the boy for breaching his levels of privacy so many times, he'd heard some things that perhaps the Latino hadn't meant for him to hear just yet. He usually pretended he hadn't heard it, though it never really worked.</div>
