YE WEN
Wen nodded along, figuring it best not to say anything at all. She listened to Bel talk while walking to the common room's shared pantry, making 'hmm' noises at appropriate intervals to indicate acknowledgement. The selection of drinks on array was quite wide -- surprisingly wide, in fact -- but as expected, she found no indication that the pantry had stocked her tea. She'd likely have to bring it in herself, if that was possible. Wen frowned, and began to look for the 'hot chocolate'.

It was kept in an unassuming brown tin, labelled side facing inwards. No wonder she'd had trouble finding it. Wen then dug out two mugs, washed them, and prepared the drinks. She'd put nothing special into them -- just the powder, warmed milk, and no spices at all. In her opinion, it was blasphemy to ruin the perfect simplicity of the drink -- but she left common hot chocolate spices on the countertop in case Bel decided she was partial to having additives in her drinks.

Then, she returned to the table to wait for her partner.

As promised Bel returned about ten minutes later, carrying a large pizza box. "Dinners served," Bel laughed as she retook her seat at the table and placed the pizza along with some napkins, paper plates, and a small box of food.

"The owner threw in an order of cannoli since Sam and I always order it when we order from there," Bel explained as she got busy opening boxes, tearing off lids, handing out plates - and just basically taking charge.

"Alright," she said, satisfied. "Help yourself," Bel encouraged as she took the mug of chocolate, thanked Wen and took a sip, letting her help herself first.

YE WEN
Wen marvelled at how fast the food had come, and how fast Bel had been in getting it. Bel was exactly the opposite of Winter -- where winter was cold and white, Bel's radiant hair and twinkling eyes told stories about bright, sunny days, and warm skies. Her effusive personality was already becoming evident; the girl was nothing short of wholesome -- at least, to Wen. And she was so energetic, too! Wen wondered wherever Bel could get the will to be so... outgoing, from.

She faded into the background, watching as Bel unpacked the food. The various aromas filtered out into the air, and unconsciously, Wen's stomach rumbled. She couldn't help blushing; she hadn't been hungry before, but the moment the food's scents reached her nose, it had ignited some Pavlovian instinct, and Wen felt hunger paw at her stomach insides.

"Gods," Wen said quietly, "I don't even know where to begin. How... how much do I owe you?" She fiddled with her thumbs, trying to work out an estimate for each item. The free food was free, so it was just the pizza... Five dollars? Ten? Against her better instincts, she reached out and lightly plucked a slice from the whole, and --

"--oh," she drew a sharp breath in, eyes widening in wonder, "I've never seen anything quite like this." Cheese pulled away from the pizza, falling in long, silky yellow strands. Steam lifted off the base of the box and off the pizza itself, condensing in the air into tiny clouds. It smelt heavenly. She wondered why nobody had invented pizza in her world yet. Then, still lost in her pizzadmiration, Wen pulled back to let Bel have at it herself.

"Just enjoy ..." Bel replied happily, easily waving away Wen's offer to pay her part as the goddess watched, with pleasure, her partner discover the tasty treat that was pizza.

"You can always pay me back another day," the goddess replied not actually concerned with whether Wen paid her back or not. Right now was about the enjoyment of the food. Besides, Bel sensed Wen was a good person, and the simple fact she had offered payment was enough for her.

"Wow Wen... This hot cocoa is really delicious. Reminds me of home," she admitted as she looked at the cup, "Too many people add cinnamon, mint or like even orange flavour, and I think it just masked the flavour..." she concluded.

Edited a bit. I was in a rush earlier. My tabler did wacky things.. o.0... Sorry, Lee.

YE WEN
Wen took a dainty bite of pizza. Immediately, she tasted the cheese -- faintly sour, somehow creamy, and stretchy while being soft at the same time. Then, a sharp acidity, followed by mild sweetness, and the distinct taste of tomatoes. She was familiar with tomatoes; when walking about the mortal realm, her people had offered her dishes with tomatoes and fish, and eggs, and the tomatoes used in the pizza reminded her of home. "I will," she said softly, the barest hint of a smile curling at her lips. She was touched by Bel's kindness; first pizza, and then delayed payment. Even though Wen didn't really smile the way most people did, the sides of her eyes crinkled, and it was clear she was smiling from her eyes.

Wen nodded, but waved sheepishly as Bel praised the hot chocolate. She'd only found a container in the pantry; she certainly didn't know who it belonged to, but she'd assumed it was communal. It had amazed her, too, the first time she'd tried it."Really?" The girl asked, then, "Where's your home?"

"Home is a place called, Wales," Bel explained as she put down her cup of hot chocolate and took a piece of hot pizza and placed it on her napkin.

"It's a small country in the United Kingdom, and in many ways, it's very similar to Manta Carlos," Bel explained as she looked at Wen with a bright smile. "It's very green, coastal, even the weather is similar."

"The hot cocoa reminds me of being back home and on a cold day, watching a movie while drinking cocoa and eating cinnamon rolls or hot buttered toast," she said as she picked up her pizza and took a bite.

YE WEN
"Wales," Wen repeated, nodding seriously. She didn't know where that was (or what the United Kingdom was either), but it clearly meant a lot to Bel. She thought back to her pantheon and her homeland -- humid and hot, but cold and dry in the wintertime, and filled with loud, bright people. Reds and golds, and yellows and ochres, and blues that lit up the sky. Clouds that floated by, so often that her people even had an adverb of sorts to describe cloudlike movement. Mountains that faded off into the distance, shrouded in fog. Plants and trees so green and vibrant, coloured jade and emerald, viridescent and bursting with life.

Wen couldn't help but smile. Bel's words brought back memories of her own homeland, and Wen felt a slight pang of homesickness strike her in her comparatively young heart. She'd always been fonder of the mortal soil, and she considered it her home as much as she did the divine plane. "It sounds beautiful. I should like to visit, one day."

She looked at Bel, a glimmer in her eyes. "My dorm parent is a god of this world," she said, "he tells me stories about his home, and it sounds like mine."

"I..." Wen trailed off, eyes glazing over with soft fondness, "I remember that home felt like a warm hearth, and dumplings filled with broth, eaten in the embrace of family and friends. Home is like the bursting of firecrackers, or the sound of gongs. It's like gathering all your relatives after a year of separation around the big, round table, and dining together."

"That sounds truly amazing, Wen," Bel remarked warmly as she listened to her speak about her home, noticing also how Wen's eyes and voice reflected the nostalgia she was feeling at the moment.

"Maybe one day you can tell me more about your home," she suggested. "It sounds like a truly exotic place. One I'd personally love to experience," she confessed as she took a small bite from her pizza.
