Serenity landed where the docks met the land, her hands were shaking. Though she was a Pyro and her blood always ran hot, she got cold easily, and her hands were shaking for that reason. She was paled because of the pure cruelty she had shown, and how many probably innocent lives she had taken. She didn't move, she thought about how Danger would react.
Surely he won't be amused, like he was in the library. He'd be angry, or worse, he'd want revenge. Oh, what was I thinking?! Then again, he did lie to me. He was the one who probably could have stopped them from killing my mother... Why did I have to go and get myself kidnapped and he have to lie?

Danger sighed. Why'd he have bad luck. And why did she have to land right in front of him. He shook his head, placing his dagger back into his belt. "You look like you've got a few questions that need answering." he said quietly, eyes dull, emotionless.

He spread his arms wide. "I'm an open book." he smiled, but the smile didn't even touch his eyes, they remained exactly the same. He continued to push down emotions. Already, he didn't care. The best thing a pirate could do was not be over run by emotions.

Serenity turned around and hugged him.
"Oh, James, I'm so sorry! I... I didn't mean to... I was just... they killed my mother... and..."
She let go and backed away. She looked up into his eyes, her own were filled with tears.
"Oh, J- Danger, why did you lie to me?"
She asked. She knew he was hiding his emotions, just as he in the Library. He had hidden his life from her as well.

Danger was definately not expecting her to hug him. That, definately put him off balance. When she stepped back, he also took a step back, folding his arms across his chest. He would have told her that he didn't care about the people on the ship, and just the ship, but he wasn't sure how true that was. That ship held a lot of memories, whether good or bad.

When she called him Danger, he just shook his head. "There's a reason I introduced myself as James." he said quietly, emotionless eyes watching her face. "And really, I didn't lie. I didn't tell the whole truth, but I didn't lie." he sighed, uncrossing his arms and sticking them in his pockets. "Considering what the World Government's been doing to pirates, I didn't figure that telling everyone that I was a pirate would be particularily wise." he shook his head. "Probably for the same reason you don't go about screaming and advertising that you're a princess."

Serenity knew he was hiding his emotions again. Trying to ignore his comment about her princessness, she tried to blink back tears.
"But... Why do you hide your emotions from me? Its not like... It's not like I'd shout it out to the world. Friends don't do that. Friends don't hide things."
She said quietly, turning away and heading back to the academy. Of course, she could always fly, but she didn't think that would be the best way to go.

Danger shook his head. "What, do you expect me to be nice to you? To grovel at your feet? You blew up my ship!" he knew he didn't have to answer to her, and he tried to force down his emotions. He could feel the flare of his anger as what she had done began to sink in. And that was never good. He was done talking. He kicked the dirt with his boot, and turned towards the docks, and water. His safe haven, water.

Serenity turned around. She had never seen such fury inside herself before.
"They killed my mother, and my best friend! You tried to kill me too! I was helpless and you just picked up a blade and... That's how my friend died! Defending me from you! I don't care if you never talk to me again, just go away!"
She turned around and ran, taking of at a fast speed. She didn't care where she was heading, anywhere except this place. Anywhere away from James.

Danger didn't even turn around. "Good riddance." he muttered. He knew she wouldn't believe him if he told her that he hadn't been able to kill her because of his childishness. That she should be thankful that she met him then and not now.

He walked out onto the dock, and stared into the water. It was charred now. His emotionless eyes took it all in. "I guess you had good reason to send me to this school Captain." he said dully out into the water, shaking his head. "I'm just sorry I couldn't protect you." with that, he dove into the water, the side that hadn't yet been touched by the ashes of the ship, and pushed himself deep. Once deep enough, he swam. Hard and fast several feet beneath the surface.
