Leaning his shoulder against the back of a comfy reading chair, white hair cascaded off the armrest as the boy sat half to the side on the chair with his legs hanging off the other arm reading a fairly thick looking hardcover book on herbology. Lips pursed together in a thin line of concentration as bright baby blue eyes studied the pages of identification diagrams of plants and flowers, and neighboring descriptions and lists of magical properties. It was just after classes had ended, and, it was Friday; a lovely work-free day. Applying for well-fare had done him nicely. And now he didn't have to work exhausting 8-hour shifts every day after the 6 hours of school he already had.

Flipping to a page about different types of rose and their properties, the boy yawned, and looked up for the first time in the half hour he had been in the library. Stretching out for a moment, he kicked his legs and stretched his arms out before returning to his former position, having found it very comfortable. He, with his feet, worked his shoes off where they landed on the floor beneath, and then went back to reading; shamelessly showing off his bright pink fuzzy socks. It had been a boring today, listening through lectures and questions and worksheets and notes just like every other day so far.

Mew was glad it was Friday. Her old school was boring, sure. At least it wasn't lectures all the time. She sighed. She finished her homework so she had a free weekend. A well deserved weekend. Her first weekend without her old friends. She sighed again. Mew missed them dearly. The library had some kids but they were in groups of friends. She continued walking. She was looking for a single kid, maybe finishing homework or just bored. She finally spotted a single kid.

She walked over to him silently. Mew was always good at that. She was called stalker in her old school since she silently walked up to someone. "Hey there. What are you up to" she said, again not being polite. She winced mentally. She was bad with this whole polite thing.

Releasing a hand from his book, he dropped it down, picking at a school-bag below, struggling to get the zipper open and then shuffling around until he pulled out a notebook and then a pen. He studiously wrote down some interesting things from the book's diagrams, making plans to go herb-searching later today. It was, at least that he didn't need to be able to wield magic in order to be an alchemist. He just needed equipment. Alchemy, and potions making in general was something that the young dragon fairly significantly liked and put worth to; as he really saw no future in himself working like a normal human being commuting back and forth to an office job or working with modern technology. There would always be a niche for potions buyers, whether it be actual users, or human 'Wiccans' as they were called. He would collect the herbs by himself, make them by himself and sell them by himself.

He was quite absorbed in his note-taking, chewing on his lip slightly when a voice came out from nowhere; he bit himself in the surprise, and scowled over at the culprit "Oh, hi" he said " Excuse the lack of enthusiasm, I bit myself" He touched his lip with a finger. Yep, he was bleeding, nothing new there. He proceeded to wipe the blood off with his tongue " Are you naturally so light on your feet? That's assassin material right there" He said, meaning it to be some kind of a compliment.

Mew smiled. "I have always been that way. People called me ninja because I was so quite. I'm sorry for scaring you. I do that to everyone" she said, looking sheepish. She never scares people intentionally. She's just that silent when walking. Her old friends hated her for that. That's why they made her the eavesdropper of the group. "I'll take the assassin comment as a compliment then" she said, smiling. She sat down. "What are you reading? Sorry I just love reading and always ask anyone who has a book that. I'm Mew by the way" she said.

The boy raised delicately a thin white eyebrow at the girl " I see" he murmured, gently closing the book and sitting up properly. He yawned quietly, stretching his arms out with his fingers intertwined in a classic arm stretch. then he folded his hands over the book " It is" he said in reply to her, assassins were the rulers of stealth. The younger girl sat down, enquiring about what he happened to be reading " It's a guide to herbs and their alchemical properties" he explained simple, smiling " I like books too. Sometimes they are a hell of a lot better than people" He stuck out his hand to shake hers " My name's Tristin; nice to meet you"

Mew's eyes went wide at the topic of the book. She would have to look at it someone. "My name's Mew. I find books more friendly then people" she said. Books couldn't insult her and she likes that. "That book sounds interesting. My mom has a book that lists every herb and what they can be used for. Some where used in medicine centuries ago. Never thought they had alchemical properties to them though" she said. Mew just proved that you really do learn something new everyday.

" Mew.....?" Honestly, that was one of the stranger names that he had heard in a while; wasn't mew a sound that kittens made? " Friendly? To me, just more interesting most of the time. Just like people, there are also books that are less than friendly" If this girl was looking for a goody-two-shoes, she was talking to the wrong person, as Tristin was far from such. The boy stood up now, looks like there would be no more time for reading. He shoved the book and notepad into his pack " That's nice. But indeed, most plants have alchemical properties. Like rose, which can be used in love ... and aphrodisiac potions" He giggled slightly at this, having messed around with those things once or twice to some interesting results. Hefting his school bag over his shoulder, Tristin tilted his head to the side at the younger girl " Anyway, I was going to head off for a little island exploration, see if I can put this book to use and collect some specimens. Are you busy?"

Mew knew that her name was weird. She liked it through. "Yeah I know. I have a weird name" she said. "The kids in my old school could be....cruel. I mean I had friends. They weren't the most innocent kids through. So me having powers made my parents happy. They were glad that I have to leave those friends behind" she explained. The boy was making her feel stupid. She knew he wasn't doing it on purpose. She hoped that anyway. "I'm really not busy. I finished my homework and everything" she said, curious of why he asked her that. She wasn't about to ask either and look like a fool.

" I guess it's not as bad as Teddy or Bunny" Not that he knew anyone named that. He shifted slightly on his feet " Innocent? No one is ever innocent, I don't think. If you want innocent, I'm not the type to befriend; I like the particularly nasty stuff" He accentuated such with an all-too knowing smile. Then he looked back at the girl " Oh, but I won't do anything to anyone right now, yeah. I just don't want you to be mislead. I'm not a nice guy, unless I wanna be"
Scratching his chin for a moment, the boy hummed slightly " Anyways, I figure since you're not doing anything, you could help me find some plants?" He asked.

Mew grinned. She was no fool. She got the feeling that Tristan could be friendly when he wanted to be. Half of her old friends were like that. In fact her friends were quite mean if you weren't part of the pack they made. Shame she had to leave them behind. Maybe there were kids like that here. "Sure, I can help you find plants. What kinds" she said. Had a kid at her old school asked that she would have laughed at them. Mostly because she had friends. Oh well. She could make some here. They probably wouldn't be sneaking out and breaking the law or anything but oh well.
