Candle did not enjoy parading around as some... cumbersome meat thing. Yet they cannot show off their fiery form while beyond the veil and thus was required to appear human during their stay in Genoa. While their prime goal was to retrieve Grostman's books hidden away in some church, they had some time to walk around and see the splendor of this historic city be they had to get to their mission at hand.

Candle was trailed close to Monday and Ganymede as they walked city streets. They seemed to have enjoyed being tourist but Candle found the juxtaposition of renaissance buildings and modern architecture a bit jarring. While they and Ganymede looked like any other human, became clear that Candle's choice of apparel made some heads turn as they walked by. At some point a group of unruly men hanging around a street corner took pause in their conversion to watch Candle walk by with lecherous gazes. As they passed, Candle could hear them laugh and banter with each other. While Candle may not have spoken a lick of Italian, it didn't take a genius to figure that they were talking about.

"Uhhgg...." was all the salamander had grumbled, irritated as being seen as some sex object but tries not to show it. Perhaps they should have taken heed to find another pair of clothes for themselves. Something that would garner more respect as powerful salamander deserves. And as if by grand design, they happen to walk just in front of clothing store displaying mannequins in well-dress suits and attire behind a wall of glass. The sight of these clothes caused Candle to stop in their tracks and examine them, half forgetting Monday and Ganymede as they do so.

Everything leading up to their trip to Genoa had gone surprisingly smoothly, even getting their passports and the necessary paperwork to visit the churches where the book or books supposedly were supposedly located had been surprisingly easy.

And now, having just arrived a day or so earlier the three of them had decided to relax and explore the city together as a group before they started out on their quest.

Strolling leisurely behind Candle with Ganymede at his side, Monday kept an eye on his assistant - concerned that her chosen outfit might raise some eyes - as he pointed out a few key landmarks that he had read about in the guide they had been given at the hotel.

"Candle? Are you okay?" Monday asked when she suddenly stopped in front of what appeared to be a clothing boutique, not aware that she had been catcalled since he had been a few meters behind her and chatting with Gaymede.

Having human ears still felt weird, but Ganymede was getting used to it. He was having a fun time as they meandered through Genoa, seeing all the sights. It was kind of like a family vacation, like the ones Ganymede had heard about a few times. He enjoyed Monday pointing out the things they read in the travel guide. He took plenty of pictures. And his flawless Italian impressed the locals, especially on those occasions when he spoke their dialect.

It quickly became apparent that Candle's choice of clothing was a problem - or at least her failure to change her style. It wasn't veil-breaking, but it was needlessly eccentric. Ganymede saw that now. Candle must have been thinking the same thing, as she stopped in front of that boutique clothing store.

When Ganymede saw the suits, and Candle's apparent interest in them, he got visibly excited. "Look! We'd be able to match~" he said to Candle, pointing to one of the suits. Not that he was wearing a suit right now; today he had on casual clothing for exploring and sweating in. But he had packed a suit.

Candle snapped to attention as Monday called out to them. It was unlike like them to take an interest in something as mundane as clothing and it felt strange to try to explain it. Maybe wearing this human charm was making them have more human-like thoughts or something.

"I am... fine. I just thought to examine these... garments is all." spoke up Candle as they tried to muster and explanation. Ganymede seemed have lit up and to have jumped at the moment about having them get matching clothes. This cause the salamander to pause, unsure how to answer at the moment. They looked to the suits, making out the faint bit of reflection in the glass that just happened to be superimposed on top of the particular suit that had caught their eye.

"I... suppose it would be a matching set." remarked Candle at last, looking back to Monday and Ganymede. Even if they look completely human, they were still as stoic-looking as ever. "I was just thinking that prehaps I should purchase a change in clothing since I appear to be attacting too much... unwanted attention. More so than back on the island strangely enough."

"I'm afraid that people here are not as openminded as they are on the island," Monday said as he opened the door to the boutique and gestured to Ganymede to sort of usher Candle in before she could back out of it or change her mind.

"Besides, look at it as a chance to get you some new clothes," he said as he entered into the shop, and smiled at all the nice tailored suits, cute shirts, blouses, and other outfits arranged nicely about the shop.

"In fact, all of us could maybe get a new outfit, right Gany?" he said as he gave Ganymede a little wink, knowing full well that they'd be able to persuade Candle more than he ever could into getting a few more items of clothing.

Ganymede didn't know he was about to get fancy new clothes out of this whole deal. He let out an excited little gasp, then started wiggling a bit with excitement. The wiggling would have traveled all the way down to his tail, if he had it out - but in human form this felt a lot less natural. So, he stopped after a second. His excitement was still there, though.

He started walking in, then he walked back out and took Candle's hand to lead her into the shop. "Let's shop for some things! It'll be fun!" he said. "And it'll help us stand out less." That second bit wasn't his priority, exactly, but he knew it would appeal to the grown adults.

"I suppose you are correct Monday. With everyone looking just about the same even the most minute of differences would be glaring to these folk. Hopefully wearing something different will make me stand out less. Perhaps even respect for once." Spoke Candle as the where being eased indoors.

Monday and Ganymede seemed strangely eager and quick to pull them inside the store. While they didn't share their enthusiasm, they were In some part hopeful that some new clothes will bring some welcome change to their life.

"Yes Ganymede, this will be both pragmatic and... what you call fun as well" said the salamander.

Now inside, Candle casually walks over to the nearest rack and pulled off some cute black jackets. Or at least they think they are cute, they really didn't have a grasp for fashion since they were used to clothes just burning around them.

"Monday, Ganymede, which combination of clothing articles appear most appealing yet inconspicious?" inquired Candle as the pull up various musmatched shirts, jackets, blouses and pants.

(( if any of you have an outfit idea for Candle feel free to describe it in you next post ^_^ ))

Monday was very relieved, and sort of excited if not exulted when Candle agreed to let them help her buy a few less "revealing" and more conservative or sophisticated outfits.

"Well, Ganymede might know better than I about what's fashionable," Monday started as he glanced around the shop thoughtfully.

"But how about a nice blouse and black or dark grey skirt?" he suggested, thinking briefly about the women he had seen on the street. Admittedly, he wasn't a man who knew that much about fashion, but he did know, thanks to being a history buff, what might be considered as a classic, time-honored outfit for women.
