Name: William Lacroix Chesire
Age: 25
Birthday: October 13th
Gender: Male
Species: Chesire Cat
Class: High School
Subject/Work: Music Teacher
Appearance Description:
It all depends when you find William how he may appear. If you find him in feline form, he appears as a very lithe purple feline dotted with pointy features and pink stripes, his jaw appearing to naturally curve for that smile we all know and love with the toothy grin to match it, and deep golden soul-peering eyes.
However when he takes the form of man, he appears as a rather unassuming lithe male. Roughly six feet in height and thin of frame, the purple haired man would catch an eye but appear no threat at first. Soft features, though that jaw and those lips still curved so perfectly to the smile of the chesire. His hair is a deep purple, with the tips fading out to a dark pink, and several strands an even darker purple with no additional colors. His eyes are still golden, with slit pupils, but with the white of normal human eyes around the irises. He wears a jacket that from afar appears to be a black cut up cloth, but close it feels much like fur. Underneath it his clothes vary, normally wearing either fairly clashing and colorful clothing, or very random pop-culture related attire.
Personality Description: A trickster and a bum all in one. William enjoys to tease and taunt, but finds himself without motivation or drive most days. He acts on impulse and will often give in to temptation for a laugh over being a responsible adult and teacher. As he wanders the nightmares of wonderland, he is not prone to taking depressing conversations or stressful situations seriously, and is too easily ready to dismiss things as quickly as he can, coming off as uncaring or lacking a serious bone. Easy to approach, but hard to unlock the deeper layers of.
Powers: Chesire Cat Physiology - Being a member of the Chesire Cat family, William has many innate powers that many of his kindred share.
-Air Walking: The cheshire body, in either form, is extremely light. They are capable of walking, floating, swimming, and moving about in the air a few feet off the ground as if there was no gravity weighing them down. However this can only be done consciously, and Cheshire are often prone to falling asleep during the sensations as it is extremely relaxing. While weightless, it can not be used like flight and can only lift them somewhat off the ground at best, not reliable to keep them from falling at high speeds from height.
-Camouflage: The cheshire body is capable of fading to blend in with their surroundings, and in feline form able to take the color of their emotion. While not an immediate change, it is an almost flawless shift to hide in any environment and can selectively exclude parts of the body, much like the cheshire's signature smile in nothingness. It requires much less energy in the feline form.
-Gaseous Form: Chesire are capable to convert their physical body to a gas or smoke like state. Useful for sliding in between tight spaces or to move around unnoticed, and capable of showing their face alone in the smoke, in either form they turned to smoke in. IT takes much less energy to turn solid once more than it is to evaporate.
-To Wonderland and Back: William, unlike his siblings, can actually cross the threshold between the here and now, and into Wonderland. Considered a form of Astral Projection or perhaps Planeswalking, he is able to shift into Wonderland and Back in the same way he is able to shift his form. Where wonderland exists, however, is another question entirely, but it seems to hold a great deal of meaning to William... However, this is also part of an uncanny ability all Chesires have to travel to Wonderland, it can also be used to travel short distances, the secret to how the Iconic cat could move between two trees within the blink of an eye.
Illusions: William is an expert in the use of illusionary magic, loving the idea of playing with people and messing with them, as well as a fairly defensive magic too. Useful in Wonderland when walking among the horrors that exist, or simply fun with messing with students and teachers.
-Visual Illusions: A simple shift in what the target sees, capable of making objects change form in their mind or cause them to see things that do not exist at all.
-Physical Illusions: A shift in what is felt by the target, able to make them feel what isn't there. While this can not cause actual harm, it can stir with people if they believe the sensations are real. Such things as a minor shift in temperature, a sense of false weariness, or perhaps actual pain...
-Audio Illusions: What is heard isn't always real, and William can mess with one's senses to make them hear things that aren't there. Usually just his voice speaking from many angles while he isn't seen, but always fun to use when he needs to distract people.
Species Abilities: Chesire Forms: A Chesire can take one of two forms. Either a human form, or their feline form.
Biography: Not all things in Wonderland are a beautiful case of madness and aesthetics. After all, in some parts of Wonderland there is true madness and true insanity. True horror that the mind's eye was not ready to take in. Wonderland has been, and will always be, a curious place that none can truly understand. How one gets there, how those in Wonderland exist. William Lacroix Chesire, however, is very aware of things. He is the cat in the cradle of insanity, and the unwitted denizen of some of Wonderland's most terrible places, and born to such at a very terrible day.
Wonderland, in William's words, is a land created from the mind of all who imagine, and as such can be anything from perfect paradise to the most horrific nightmare that you could ever describe. Denizens of wonderland come from many clothes and reside in many places, but the Chesires know well how one moment in Wonderland will never be the same again. William was born in one of the more cracked and twisted corners of this land between realms, born in what other Wonderland denizens refer to as the Nightmarescape, like a large canvas painted by terrors only the darkest dreamers could have. William, being raised in such a place, learned early that smiling was all one could do to hide the nightmares they have seen in such dark places. He found beauty even in this place he calls home, and others call Hell, among the music and the flowers that hid in the dark corners of the reality made of madness.
When he managed to cross the threshold between worlds, he found that this plane was much more relaxed and peaceful, taking a long time to adjust to a "Normal" existence among humans and other mortals that weren't born of imagination. Not used to taking things calmly, he found himself playing many pranks and preying on unsuspecting people to turn them into the punchline of many accidental jokes and schemes that still today have made a mark of a troublemaker on the Chesire. However, this would not be the most difficult part of living in this world. Instead, it was merely talking. The beings he was so accustomed to were not social, and rarely shared concern or dread. However the people he met in the new world were often keen on sharing their problems, and he always failed at expressing empathy or concern in any context. He was simply broken to the idea of problems, having lived in a constant nightmare his entire adolescence.
However he never fully moved to this world, no. He still holds his family home in the Nightmarescape, a small tea room in between many mirrors that reflect inner dread and deep fears, where he plays the Cello in attempts to silence the mad gibbering of the other denizens. Music, being one of his deep loves, became his way to try to bond with this new world, learning more about music until the point he put in to become a Musical Teacher. While it took some time to finally be hired on, the extreme lack of his existence outside of Wonderland only being a minor hinderance next to how dreadfully insane his interview was... He did finally manage to be hired on as a teacher, a Musical Instructor at the local High School where he could educate students of many different species, maybe even some similar to what he was, in the beauty that was true music and perhaps teaching them some very fun new tricks along the way with his playful magics and illusions.
In the time to prepare for his classes, he has spent most of his time travelling and seeing new sights and trying to tear apart the world he has always known from the world he now lives in, trying to part nightmare from reality, turmoil from solitude, and dread from relaxation. He has yet to really delve deep into the marvels of our society, not grasping much modern media but falling in love with it the more he is subjected to it. The hardest part of it all being the simple effort of saying hello without appearing as a set of smiling teeth in someone's morning coffee, or approaching a new friend with four or five illusionary dopplegangers to barrage them with hellos from many mouths. No matter the rhyme or reason, he is a new and lovingly split being caught in the madness of the world he has always known and the beauty of the new world he seeks to make a future in.
