It had been a few days since he'd returned to school and Ishvi still hasn't completely gotten his schedule on track. Sleeping fitfully when he did sleep. Nightmares and memories colliding, no longer used to having a roommate since he'd been living on his own about a year. At least Kieran didn't seem so bad, and most importantly in Ishvi's mind was not an angel or demon who would know he'd fallen, or someone who'd been around while he was still working with the police. Before everything crumbled.
The half-angel was exhausted when he finally lay down for another attempt at sleep. The sun was still high in the sky, but with sunscreen on it didn't bother him in his human form, and his bed was out of any direct light. If he was more used to the fact that the sun was so dangerous, he might've closed the curtains. As it was he didn't even want to think about the fact his nightmare half was strengthening or his angel half weakening, and part of him might crave the risk.
When he did fall asleep, Ishvi was a fairly heavy sleeper. He so often had nightmares that any slight bit of pain he felt from the occasional flicker to his other form wasn't enough to wake him. So he tossed and turned, as he usually did, not awakened by his new roommate's entry. The half-angel's dark form was something Kieran would only have gotten glimpses of - Ishvi hated it so much - and the other guy probably wouldn't know its significance, but today the flickering was more pronounced, and Ishvi clutched at the blankets like he was drowning. It wasn't so far from the truth.
