Bel just shrugged at Agnes's suggestion that a death threat could also be considered a compliment. Maybe it was, who really knew? It probably depended on what fueled the passion behind it.

"If you hadn't meant to shock, you would have said that in the first place," Bel said with a good-natured smile. "Also that sounds like a rather awful place to be for a prolonged amount of time." she admitted scrunching her nose a little at the thought.

"Maybe I just have the flair for the dramatic. Do you want to suppress my true nature?"
Agnes said this with a very undramatic expression and emptied her coffee cup with the one last gulp.
"It was pretty dull, wouldn't wanna go back. Though this place is kinda meh too. At least you don't wake up in the night screaming like death, so it's a plus."

"Oh, no... far from it. I don't believe in or encourage conformity," Bel stated as she wrapped a finger around the ends of her hair, playing with her long blond hair absentmindedly. "You be whatever you want to be," she told Agnes a bit more seriously.

"The academy is fairly dull," Bel had to admit as she got up from the couch and helped herself to more coffee, "I am used to a more dynamic form of learning, less book learning, more practice, more outside with nature."

Agnes answered, she was exactly what she felt like being and said whatever she felt like saying.

Agnes was tapping her fingers against the coffee cup whilst listening to Bel talk. The image that popped into her head made Agnes smirk.
"Kinda sounds disney princess-y, with your blonde hair and good looks. Well, you're more like hot than just good-looking."
Agnes said it matter of factly, because it was true. Bel was hot.

Bel just stared at Agnes for a moment, and then grinned slowly, teasingly, "A hot Disney princess, is that a compliment? Cause I'll take that..." she said, an image of some random princess character springing to mind as she looked at Agnes, who was equally as as hot, but in a darker way. A more, sexy Disney evil witch way

"By the way, I am glad you are not there, the islets, anymore. They do kind of sound like they aren't the nicest place to be, " she said in a more serious tone.

Suppose it was a compliment, saying someone was good-looking was normally a compliment. When Agnes said stuff she didn't mean it specifically as a compliment or insult. It was all about how the one she said it to took it.

"They're not supposed to be nice, they're supposed to ensure you get your shit together. Or at least together enough."
Agnes stood up and went to pour herself some more coffee. She hadn't drank it in a while, she had missed the taste.
"And unless I go berserk or something I'm not going back."

Bel shrugged at Agnes's affirmation, she really couldn't argue with the girl since she had no clue what the place was like or if it actually helped people or not. Although it did sound like a rather unhappy place to her.

"Speaking of going places?" Bel said as she also got up and refilled her coffee mug, waiting until Agnes got hers first. "You going to that masquerade thing that they've been advertising all over school?"

Oh right, there was that masquerade ball. Agnes was apathetic but not so much that she'd have missed all the posters and pamphlets and all the other shit they used to advertise it. Agnes shrugged and sipped her coffee.
"I'm not an event person, even if I went I wouldn't do anything, so what's the point?"
Agnes looked Bel up and down.
"I don't even need to ask to know you're going."

"Normally, you'd be right," Bel laughed, "But I am actually undecided. I don't know anyone really, nor do I have a date. I don't actually know too many young men who might want to take a gorgeous creature like myself to the masquerade ball," she remarked jokingly, not at all serious about the last part.

"Besides, it is Samhain, and I am at my lowest during that time. I am not a very charming or gracious goddess at the moment, if I'm being honest." she admitted wrinkling her nose.

Agnes smirked a bit, she bet Bel would only have to go to a public place in a bit fancier getup and yell out 'WHO WANTS TO DATE ME?' and a bunch of guys and girls would line up.
"Why do you have to go with someone? Just go by yourself, or with a friend. You oughta have plenty of those."
Agnes shrugged and drank some coffee. She tried to imagine herself at the ball, in a fancy dress and painful shoes, but just couldn't do it. At a club, maybe, but not in a fucking ballroom.
"And don't talk shit, you look plenty good. If the men on this island have such small balls that they can't ask one hot girl to a ball it's their loss and right hand."
