"Pretty cold, and not really," he'd shrug, "I'm only half ice dragon, so I don't really have any temperature weaknesses like a lot of my family does." It was something he was proud him, made him less limited than a lot of other elemental dragons.

"You sure about that shorty?" he'd ask, step towards the sparring area. "Not gonna sprain your brain?" he'd start stretching a bit. "I don't really go easy," he was half joking, more just seeing how his friend was going to react.

He'd bounce in the balls of his feet like boxer. "Have you had any training?"

"I'm not short, you're just tall." Alby would give his shoulders a quick stretch then grin at the dragon. "And don't worry about my brain, I've been training that power for years. You haven't seen nothing yet." A lie, Eein had in fact seen everything Alby could do when he lifted that pencil a while ago.

Alby didn't drop the grin as he joined Eein in the arena. "I don't need training, I got this." He was honestly a little unsure about this himself. "What're we doing?" Alby was aware that multiple ways of sparring existed, but whether or not knowing what type they were doing would help was a whole other question.

He'd raise an eyebrow when his friend asked him what they were doing. "Were sparring," he'd say with a snort. "In simpler terms were smacking each other around until either one gives in or a limb is broken." He was half joking, though he did heal fast so a broken limb wasn't to big of an issue.

"All the fun stuff," he'd stretch a bit more, "best part of any training session." He'd crack his neck and then his back, more trying to get a reaction out of his friend. "So you think you can handle all that?"

Just sparring, Alby decided to take that as freestyle then. It didn’t really matter after all, he was kind of aware that Eein and him had a bit of a skill gap. “Alrighty, freestyle then. I can work with that.” He seemed rather unphased by the potential for injury.

Alby seemed to hold his ground, cracking his knuckles as Eein cracked his back. “Of course, ready when you are.” He smiled again, this time quite confidently, as he got into a ready stance.

Eein moved fast, a light strike to the side, his leg pressing to the back of Alby's, and he'd already have his friend pinned. "What was that about not needing training?" he'd ask with a chuckle before helping his friend up. He hadn't hurt him by any means, hadn't tried to.

"Want me to teach you a few things?" he'd ask him, "show you how to defend yourself against bigger opponents?" It was a genuine offer, no mocking, which showed he did consider the smaller boy his friend. "It'll be useful to know until you've expanded your powers a bit more."

“Aw man.” The words escaped Alby’s mouth as soon as he was pinned. He wasn’t disappointed for losing though, he was disappointed that he barely got to see anything before it ended.

Alby took the dragon’s hand as well as his offer while he was getting up. “That’d actually be great. Eein wasn’t wrong about it being useful. With how many things had happened in such a short amount of time on the island, it was clear to him that learning self defence was a good idea.

So the dragon would train his friend, give him a few pointers on how to defend himself, especially against larger stronger ones.
