Whole Latte Love

Remi listened closely as Bron spoke. Every time she learned something new about someone else she was quickly reminded why her moms were so interested in learning about others and the worlds they come from. It really was interesting to learn their stories and how they ended up where they were. When Bron finished Remi let silence linger for a bit, but only in case he had more to say. Once she was certain he was done she went on to respond. "Wow, your life is so active. I'm not sure whether to be a bit jealous or a bit thankful. I don't think I could handle all of that.

"As for my home, it's a floating continent with a bunch of islands that's hidden by magic. I was born in Lehora in the palace for the Royal Family since my mom helped them out, but, uh, after she had some issues with my dad she got a divorce and then married... the daughter of the Royal Oricenta... I was pretty young though so I didn't ever truly care much, and she was really accepting of me coming into her family. Plus, I heard my dad wasn't that good of a guy to my mom too, but he still tries to connect with me when he can so it's not like our contact is completely dead.

"I don't think much changed when I became royalty. I learned more about politics and helped my moms out with their work, but things only changed a lot when my family had to come here for us to learn about different species and cultures, then report back to my Grandy. Ilada and Manta Carlos Islands have a pretty positive relationship, and as long as we respect keeping the locations a secret, we're fine with trading knowledge. It's just my family can't go announcing to everyone to head over to here and spread the word, but we do suggest people to come here at times if we think it'd be positive for them."​

"I don't mind coming down here, but I do sort of prefer being in areas I'm more familiar with. Ilada is so nice, though those with a fear of heights and falling generally aren't too happy about it. They either live as far away from the edge as possible, or somewhere else. I don't see the big deal though, everyone but the disabled have wings, and some have powers that allow them to fly with other methods. Plus, there's magic that pushes people safely back onto the island if they fall off, but if that fails there's oricenta whose jobs are specifically catered to making sure people don't fall off."

It was so nice to speak about her life for some reason. She didn't go out enough to have people asking her questions about her life a bunch, but sometimes at school people would ask for a short summary. Now she could give a whole story about her life and she didn't feel judged for rambling.

"And yeah, you're right. Oricenta run on magic basically. If there was no magic we'd probably die, or be so weak we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves." The thought forced her to shiver and look down at her hooves for a moment, but just as quickly she closed her eyes and faced back towards Bron. Her tail went back to swaying once she felt better. "We like to consider ourselves one of the most powerful magical species because of how much magic influences our lives. Maybe someday I'll bring you to visit, but you'll have to be careful since foreign visitors aren't common. People will think you're there for politics, and Grandy will try to be all casual and friendly at first, but before you know it you're discussing political relationships and the diffusion of technology. My family will ask questions and will try to forge a relationship with you purely for your knowledge or resources."​

"I'd love to visit Asgard with you, but yeah, I agree, wait until break. Hopefully your family won't treat me like a political advantage." She rolled her eyes at the thought, but forgot she still had them closed.

She didn't even realize how close they got to the café until she listened more closely to realize they were in public now. The sound of coffee also gave it away for her too. She went in when Bron opened the door for her, and opened her eyes for a moment to look around. It was so pretty, though now she was beginning to get used to the prettiness of everything. She could never get used to the amazement, but it started to become a standard to find near everything on the islands amazing.

"Uh, I'll let you order first. I don't want to mess up. Got any suggestions for when I order?"​

"A... Space Station? Ah, yeah, I heard of that. I just never really thought about it. I know there's aliens and all that shit, but, man, this place really does have everything. I think I'm gonna stick to the usual though, like an ice latte." She found it weird how casual she felt around Bron. She was even cursing in front of him, which was something she only did with close friends or her family. Even her extremely polite maman didn't curse around just anybody.

After they both got their drinks Remi followed Bron to a table and seated herself. "A magical zoo sounds interesting. I'm already used to magic, but I feel like I'm gonna get numb to magic quickly living here. Eventually normal stuff will be bizarre and seem out of this world."​

Remi nodded in agreement as she listened to him speak. "Oricenta are all born with elemental based magic, shape-shifting, healing, and a long life. Any other type of magic we gotta learn to use, and usually people dabble in that stuff to enhance the magic they were already born with.." Suddenly she lowered her voice a bit. Just a bit, and it wasn't something she truly noticed until after she spoke. Maybe it was just anxiety that someone would hear, especially someone from her family, but she didn't think it was that big of a deal to speak about. "Though my family has been trying to research ways to have oricenta be born with magic not just limited to one or two elements.

"I should try what you do though. I worry I'll end up seeing something I shouldn't have seen though. Despite my curiosity of this place and how amazing it is, I'm aware of the bad things that happen here." She stared down at her latte silently and gave a small frown for a moment before going back to her usual blank face and closed eyes. She wasn't in the mood to think about bad things. "Well, exploring doesn't mean I have to be stupid, so I think I'll be just fine."​
