Galvão had no idea why he was subjecting himself to the annoyance that was John right now. Or ever. It was bad enough that he wad even going shopping, for Summer clothes no less, but why did he have to go along with this twerp? To make matters worse, Gal had been the one who asked the little pest along, a fact he was regretting with each step.
The only good thing about it was that John was keeping him agitated enough that he wasn't jumping out of his skin at thing. And the younger guy had toned down on the reason touching, although Gal would not admit just how grateful he was for that fact, certainly not to John. The truth was, the weasel was lonely - he hadn't really been here long enough to make friends, and he was uneasy about going downtown. He hadn't been in a city or even a crowd bigger than a classroom since he'd been bitten. And if he was going to wear clothes for warmer weather, John had already seen the scars.
The older boy frowned at each shop they passed. His colourblindness did not make clothes shopping any easier. A fact he still hadn't mentioned to his shopping partner. All he wanted was something cheap and comfortable. Emphasis on cheap because he only had the little money from the school until he got a job.
"This is my first time here. I don't suppose you know a good place to look? When did you get here anyway? You seem newer than I am, but I know you're not." He glanced at another store window then sighed. "Man, I need a job. Please tell me you didn't get hired somewhere before me."
