Clutching a few stapled together pieces of paper was a lone girl, purposely making her way very slowly towards where she promised to meet a male for a project, of course the female, who was hugging the script to her chest as if it were a stuffed toy and she was a heavily obsessed toddler didn’t think much of being invited to a male’s dorm, to naïve to think much of it, and too self-involved to realize it could be a very not childish thing.

It was worse enough the assignment was mature, the theme, the storyline, everything, it was disastrous, thank goodness they didn’t have to perform the whole play entitled “Romeo and Juliet” and only a scene, which of course, they were assigned by the teacher.
Ally heard the scene, which she was currently hugging, was a famous one, and others had complained in class for their own boring choices, so it at least made the brunette happy that other people didn’t get what they wanted.

She took one hand off the script for a moment, brushing a stray brown lock out of her face, despite it currently being held by a purple headband. What she was wearing was not as childish as expected from the girl, infact, for this particular female, some may even call it mature in contrast to her tutu’s and overalls of many different colours.

She wore a matching purple jumper along with the headband and simple black leggings, as well as some cute fluffly slip-ons that flashed when she walked, but enough about clothing.
The fifteen year old girl found her meeting place with the male a few seconds after brushing the strand out of her face, and saw herself standing infront of his dorm, and so, she raised a hand, and knocked in the tune of a very popular movie.

Hal was lying on his back on his bed for probably over 15 minutes already, rethinking his decision of deciding that they could practice the script in his room. Of course, it was the easy choice. He couldn't easily suggest practicing outside or in empty classrooms because he couldn't feel comfortable. But heaven forbid that he would ask the girl he ended getting paired with to practice in her room. He only had to clear up the mess of papers he left on the floor. With his previous roommate gone, the room was finally free of fur and the scent of cheetah. Man, that was a horrible time.

His room was indeed tidied up, his old sketchpads neatly stacked in one corner (away from view), the random odds and ends that usually sat on his bedside table were now hidden away and he made sure everything was clear. All he had next to him was the god-forsaken script of Romeo and Juliet that they ended up getting. To be fair, he wouldn't mind acting. But he wished they could have gotten something less... romantic and tragic. The tragic part was fine but he would have gone for Hamlet.

Hal's thoughts was just really about asking why he made such horrible life choices which ended up getting interrupted at the sound of a rhythmic knock from his door. Hal actually didn't want to get up but he felt it would be rude if he just told her to come in without moving. With a heavy sigh, he pushed himself out of the bed. He didn't bother with his hair which was a mess of bedhead at that point when he went to the door. There he found ...wait what was her name again? Aly.. Alyanna? Oh right. Alyona.

Hal opened the door a little wider to let her in, trying to keep a calm facade, "Took you long enough," he muttered under his breath. Looking at her get up, he was partially thankful that the hyperactive 'little' girl wasn't all cutsie-wootsie. He just hoped that his new assumption was true.

"You can sit anywhere you want," he said, letting himself drop on the beanbag chair near the door.

The girl paused in the doorway, blinking for a moment as if in thought, before nodding absentmindedly and skipping into the room, almost. She shut the door with a bang behind her and found herself sitting cross legged on the floor. She flipped open her script in search for the highlighted page and glanced up at him.

Should she say something? That’d be the adorable thing to do, but a thought struck her as odd, wasn’t that a rude way of slinging sentences together? He shouldn’t be addressing his adorable rich Juilet like that, especially not if he wanted to try to be mature, she had tried, oh she had to not wear her amazing cartoon onesie for this, and instead chose something she had seen other girls wear, something so disgustingly normal it could be basic. Gross.

“Well hello to you too!” She said finally, almost sarcastically, but her tone, which she died down slightly to suit Juliet better stated it was only a joke, and jokes were supposedly adorable. The girl’s blue orbs skidded across the first page of where they started quickly, before she rung her hands out infront of her and placed the neatly in her lap.

“So…” She dragged out, humming slightly before beaming at the male, “How shall I start being adorable?”

She girl rung a hand through her hair before giggling, she was serious thought, how should they start it, there hadn’t been a project assigned like this before, and it was going to be hard to be adorable and sway the teacher when she had to be mature and romantic.
“Seriously thought, I have no idea.”

The loud slam of the door made Hal jump slightly in his seat. Geez, rude much? Hal let out a soft sigh and brought his script up to eye level, already flipped open to the most popular scene of the entire tragedy of the play. Hal scanned the page for his lines before he was going to talk to her to clarify how this entire thing was going to go. Which, unfortunately, was interrupted by Ally's sarcastic "reply".

Hal looked at her with a blank stare before looking back at his script. He didn't even look up from it when Ally started talking again. It was practice but he took these things a little to seriously most of the time and he wasn't having any of this childish nonsense. But her childish non-sense was a bit hard to ignore for Hal considering she's his partner.

He just looked at her for a second until she clarified her point. Seriously? Another Hal escaped him, "For starts, I don't think you can be "adorable" the way you are if you're going to be Juliet," he said bluntly putting air quotes at the word for emphasis. "Well, Juliet's what... fourteen? But I am pretty sure she was a little more the demure kind of cute." Seriously, there should be a public service announcement for this. Cute was probably a spectrum and as much as he hated to admit, people always had to put him somewhere in that. He hated it.

"Be a Disney princess. That probably works."

The brown haired girl tugged on her hair and sighed, adjusting her sitting position so she was hugging her knees slightly before she took in the script and its language. Her blue orbs flickered in Hal’s direction as he spoke, and once he had finished throwing insults about her adorableness, well that’s what she thought anyway, she rolled her eyes.

“I would if I could.” She muttered, before she traced an invisible pattern on Hal’s floor, her mind drifting off, Disney was something she had idolised as kid, only to be explained by somebody who wanted to ruin her dreams later on about the fairytales they were based on, mutilating her childhood almost instantly. She had a stage in life where she wanted to be like Cinderella and have a fairy godmother and prince, but that stage didn’t last long.
“And who said I can’t be an adorable Juliet, I’d be the first to do it perfectly, but whatever.”

The girl raised a hand palm up and shrugged before thumbing backwards on the script until she found the page, and she shifted again so she was lying on her stomach.

“So what do you think about this project, what should we do.”
And then, she got to the point, her blue orbs trailing back up to Hal who was on the beanbag, her head now resting on her hand and she watched him curiously. If she was honest, when he said Juliet was more of a reserved, or “demure” cutie her hopes died a little bit, she was anything but reserves, and most reserved “adorable’ people weren’t actually adorable, and rather nerdy and annoying once you got to know them, telling the world all their problems and stuff like that, like sometimes problems aren’t something another person can carry on their shoulders along with the original person, but this was just Ally.

Hal was reading through his script for the thousandth time and he was close to memorizing it halfway at that point, but he didn't completely ignore the fact that his dear Juliet was muttering to herself. Hal couldn't make out what she was saying exactly due to the fact his brai was processing his own lines as he was internalizing his role. At that point, his internalizing was just cut off and all he could think of was that this--was going nowhere.

"So what do you think about this project, what should we do?" She had asked him.

Well, then. At least she knew other important things and Hal was... sort of okay with that. Sure, he'll try to stomach her cutesy business. If she knew what was important then that at least was a comfort for Hal and he could ease up a little. Hal laid down his script on his lap, looking at the girl with calculating eyes.

A sigh left his mouth, "I actually have no opinion on this matter," he said bluntly, "We could just follow it as it is. Just as Shakespeare portrayed them to be. Set aside whatever personal interpretation and get it over with..." There was a pause, "but I know this isn't only for my grades so I have to try and cooperate. I know, I know." Hal wasn't all that looking forward to the project, if he had to be honest. He loved the theater, but he was scared to go in front of anyone as an actor. He also didn't want to make any compromises on the script. It made him more nervous if he tried that. But he wasn't going to admit that to Ally.

So, as usual, he was going to set himself aside because he was too nice.

"So, okay. Fine. You seem so adamant that Juliet is this moe blob then let's go. Convince me," he challenged.

"Moe blob?" The brunette, Alyona, placed a hand under her chin in thought, as if absentmindedly scratching an invisible beard, before her eyes jolted up, the gold swimming in them, and she grinned, her blue eyes shining slightly at the realization of the meaning of 'moe', it meant adorable, or cute at an idiotic level, did it not?

"Oh, you mean an adorable Juliet!" She exclaimed, grinning at her new-found discovery before nodding. "Sure, I can 'convince you' that Juliet is way better off being adorable then some mature work of art."

The female hummed slightly, shifting her position so she was leaning over the script, ignoring the fact that the coding was mucked up in all her other posts.

She glanced at the script, went to start, before a smile appeared over her features, a smug one at that. She crawled towards Hal in a childlike manner and giggled.

"You have a line first, lets see how you can do as a normal Romeo up against an adorable Juliet, can you outshine her?"

"Sure, I can 'convince you' that Juliet is way better off being adorable then some mature work of art."

Hal was never a big fan of literature but for some odd reason, he felt a little insulted. What was wrong about sticking with the classic anyway? He sighed, well, he gave her the go signal. He was sure he wasn't going to get out of that anymore after he offered her a chance to prove herself to be the perfect Juliet with all her cutesy business.

He looked over his script, picking back up from where he'd left off before he decided to challenge Alyona. He knew already if it happens that if she pulls it off, he'd have to make a Romeo that can par up to her Juliet. But what he didn't expect was a counter-challenge.

"You have a line first, lets see how you can do as a normal Romeo up against an adorable Juliet, can you outshine her?"

For a moment, Hal was dumbfounded. Normal Romeo? For one thing: he was sure he couldn't pull that off unless his Juliet was on the same level of "normal" but that wasn't the case here. Why did I do this?

Another sigh, "Fine." Hal pushed himself off his beanbag so he was sitting up properly, eyes still glued to the script. After a couple of seconds, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Why did it even have to be this scene?" he muttered under his breath. It didn't occur to him that it could have been worse for him. It could have been scene where Romeo and Juliet died.

Once he opened them, he had a somber expression, and he began: "But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east and Juliet is the sun! ..."
Hal somehow managed through the monologue but after it, a pause, the wistful look in his eyes disappeared and when back to his usual expression as he waited for Alyona's response.

Alyona leaned onto her palm, watching Hal somewhat confidently recite his lines, something was different in his features when he did so, but before Alyona could actually figure it out, he reverted back to his normal self, causing Alyona to pout. Then she realized it was her turn. Of course she only had one line but she’d strut her stuff other wise.

“Ay me~!”

Her voice, which she altered a little lower as to sound more mature, but adorable mature. Her eyes excitedly followed along, the gild in them mingling with the blue sweetly. Hal then spoke his next lines, as Alyona followed along, the anxiety of being perfectly adorable getting to her. Her nose scrunched up slightly before she took a deep breath as Hal finished, showtime.

She bit her lip, debating how to do this before she started, her eyes glowing almost quite literally, but instead of their blue, it was the gold taking over, around her as she read and became more excited the scenery changed, much to how Alyona imagined the balcony scene. She sighed into her palm.

“O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo…? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I'll no longer be a Capulet.”

She carried her words out, trying to put a small twist on each syllable. Adjusting her shirt, she glanced over at Hal, quirking an eyebrow.
