Her face was blank of emotion, and she struggled to bring back something, anything. Pasting what she hoped was a smile on her face, Ania shrugged. "Oh, it's no big deal. It happened a long time ago anyway. " Despite her words, Ania clutched Hadrian's hand tighter and allowed herself to be brought closer, leaning into his warmth. A true smile appeared when he apologised once more. It hadn't been his fault, and he still apologised. It was funny, to see peoples reactions to her history. They usually ranged from desperate pity to wild optimism, and each reaction had it's own set of amusing facial expressions to match.

"It's not your fault, you don't need to apologise. It happened so long ago, I -" Well, she couldn't say she forgot. She had anything but forgotten, with it coming back to haunt her every other night. "It doesn't matter. I suppose the friends I've made became my family." In a way, being able to pick your family was nice. Unfortunately, friends were a shaky replacement for something that was meant to be permanent. Friends came and went, got busy or stopped caring. It was a temporary fix to a long term problem. "It's nice, in a way. I can choose to love whoever I want."

<div align=center>Hadrian didn't think because something happened a long time ago, that someone would be over it. He didn't think she ever would get over something like that, if he'd been in her position, he probably wouldn't have gotten over it. No one really got over anything like that. He knew it wasn't his fault, he supposed apologizing was just something you did when you heard bad news, he didn't really know why people did that, you can't change it. The boy cleared his throat, "um.. I..." He looked away from her, in an almost awkward manner. "Can I just.. Uh.."

He wrapped his other arm around the girl, and pulled her into a doting little hug, more or less because he thought she looked like she needed comforting. If only for a moment. Hadie held her there for a second, before blushing a little and letting go. "Sorry." He murmured, a small, coy little smile crossing his features, a nervous laugh escaping him. They had a few more hours before it got dark, perhaps, maybe one or two, Hadrian was always bad at judging those kinds of things. "Guess you're right." He ruffled her hair, coy smile still painted on his features.</div>

She stood frozen, unsure of what to do about being hugged. Slowly, a smile crept into her face, and it stayed put when he released her. Pulling a fake pout, she frowned accusingly. "You let go. You aren't supposed to let go so soon. " Shaking her head at his apology, Ania took initiative and pulled him back into the embrace. She had recently discovered that she liked hugs well enough, but this one held a special sort of meaning. He was warm and comforting, and Ania wasn't ready to be released. It was going to get dark in an hour or so, and she regretted that the day had to end so soon.

Never was the best at saying sentimental things, but now she felt compelled to say something. "Um. I really enjoyed being with you today. You're a good person, I think. I like you." She hoped that wasn't too odd to say, especially so soon after meeting him.

<div align=center>Hadrian laughed when she pulled him back, and was suddenly very very thankful for her company. It was strange for someone to make Hadrian smile this much, he was usually so stoic and emotionless that it deterred people from him. Ania, however, made him more or less seem like a completely different person. "I'm sorry," he murmured, "for letting go, I mean." He held her there for a little while, enjoying the closeness between them. He had been enjoying the day, too, and at least hoped he could stay awake long enough to take her back to her dorm. He'd be tired when they eventually went back, something he wasn't looking forward to.

Hadrian's eyes flickered down to look at her as she spoke again, "I enjoyed today, too." He returned, "you're nice to spend time with." He was another who wasn't often one for saying sentimental things, he liked Ania though, she made him smile. "I like you," he rested his chin on top of her head and absently rubbed her back. "You're sugary sweet." He laughed, "no wonder you like making sweets." He kissed the top of her head, and moved a hand up to stifle a yawn. "It's nice to meet someone who I actually want to be with for a change."</div>

Ania couldn't help but grin stupidly. He liked spending time with her. He liked her. Her face slowly heated up as he continued on, and she hid her face, starting to feel a bit shy now. He thought she was sweet, and ... Wanted to be with her. That was an odd way to word it. Maybe he was just very good at compliments. Her mind raced, trying to analyse this last sentence and come up with an appropriate reply. "Perhaps one day I can show you something sweeter." That sounded over the top dirty, that's an awful way to word it what are you thinking? "A-as in make you ... Something. Like cake?"

It didn't feel real anymore, it felt more like a dream. Perhaps this was a dream, maybe she had fallen asleep in the library and had dreamt this whole thing. Biting her wrist fiercely, she winced as the shock of pain ran up her arm. That trick didn't always work, though, did it? "You're real, right? This isn't a dream?" At least, if this was a dream, she wouldn't have very many inhibitions about flinging her clothes off. Despite the lower temperature, Rome was still hot and dusty. Though, without the barrier of cloth, one might find dirt in undesirable places. "It's getting darker, isn't it? That's very sad."

<div align=center>Hadrian laughed at the way Ania had worded that, it had sounded a little dirty, not he minded at all. "I look forward to that day." He teased, lifting an eyebrow and letting a mischievous smirk cross his face very briefly. He'd understood what Ania had meant though, and he was probably just joking around. He would have liked that though, he didn't often eat cake, but that didn't mean that he disliked it. He would have eaten cake until it made him sick if he had seen that as acceptable for someone like himself. "I would like that." He told her.

Hadrian confirmed that he was real, and he sincerely hoped this wasn't a dream. He could feel himself getting sleepy, though, which probably wasn't a good thing. He was slow and childlike once he got past a certain stage of tiredness, embarrassing for him, cute for everyone else. He didn't want it to get dark either, he didn't really want to head back, but it was probably necessary to do so. They could pick up their clothes and get changed very quickly, it wouldn't take a minute if they were fast about it. "I can take you back to your dorm once we're back, if you like?" He offered.</div>

Choosing to ignore Hadrian's teasing, Ania smiled and shook her head. She could feel the effects of drowsiness beginning to set in, and despite her resistance, she had to stifle a yawn. "Yes please, but won't you be tired? You're welcome to spend the night if you think you'll be too tired to go home." He spent a week sleeping, didn't he? He wouldn't be too much trouble to look after if he just remained asleep for a week or so. She could make him actual food when he woke up, too. "If you do stay, I'll feed you better food when you wake up."

Adjusting her clothing, Ania longed to take a shower to get rid of all the grime. She imagined that it would pour off her in a big waterfall of brown and grey. "I suppose it's time to start getting ready to go back now, isn't it?" Was this considered a date? If it was, he had bested all of her past dates by far. She had never been back in time before, and this was certainly a good trip. "How long will you sleep after this? I think you told me before, but, I can't remember what you said."

<div align=center>"Ah, that'd be nice." Hadrian answered, chances were he most likely wouldn't make it home without passing out, Altair would be okay without him. "Only if.. If you don't mind." Though then again, she had put the offer forward in the first place. Proper food was tempting, so tempting. He would have liked that, he hadn't really had any real food since he'd left home, there was no need for him to go to restaurants, since he didn't really want to take girls he had dated before, and there was absolutely no way he would go alone. How sad would that be? "I would like that."

Unfortunately, she was right. He didn't much want to go back, but staying most likely wouldn't be a good idea, he'd probably end up too tired to ever send them back to present times again. "Ah, I guess maybe two or three days... This time..." Three was probably the maximum, he would probably end up dying if he slept for more than a week. It was probably a good idea to feed him water while he was sleeping, just to reduce the risk of certain death. Dehydration wasn't a nice way to go. "Three at the most."</div>

"No, I don't mind a bit!" In fact, she felt rather excited to have a guest stay over. Hopefully he wouldn't mind her small home. She didn't have much in there, but it was definitely comfortable. She would enjoy the company of another person, too. Even if they were unconscious. Two or three days with company wouldn't be bad, maybe even fun. Hopefully he didn't have any pressing matters to attend to in the next couple days. How does one care for a person that sleeps that long? She probably wouldn't be able to wake him up to feed him. "Um. You don't require any special care when you're asleep, do you?" She felt a bit like she was getting a new exotic pet, and didn't want to accidentally kill him.

She would have to think up a good list of things to feed him with, too. All these thoughts of a real human staying over made her rather excited, and she poured over possible recipes in her mind. She would finally have a willing guinea pig to try new recipes. "I have so many things I want to feed you! Lets go get our clothes now, I'm getting tired too. "

<div align=center>Hadrian was glad she didn't mind, he didn't really like to feel like he was being a bother to anyone. Any special care? He thought about it for a second, and nodded, "if it wouldn't be too much trouble to feed me water now and again, I suppose." He laughed, though it really depended on how long he slept, "if I'm asleep for more than two days, anyway." He thought he could go for two days or so without water, he'd done it before, it just made him wake up with a little bit of a headache, that was all.

It didn't take all that long to stop by the little shop they'd bought their clothes from and collect them. Hadrian ended up encouraging Ania to change back into her old clothes, too, he'd done the same, people would question it if they wondered around dressed like this. He was looking forward to being fed proper food for once, it made him miss the food he was fed back at home. He wasn't all that fussy, and would most likely eat whatever was given to him. "It'll be nice to have company for once, I guess." He laughed, "human company, that is." Regardless of the fact he'd be sleeping most of that time.</div>
