Sometimes, Mitch loved to take her shoes off and run through the forest here at top speed. She could easily vault over fallen trees, avoid stones or any other hinderances. It was the time Mitch felt most at home when trees and pine flew past her at dangerous speeds.

She'd explored to the Forbidden Forest and back, toward the mountain range and outward toward the skirts of the island. When she came out on a cliffside that overlooked the beach. It wasn't steep enough that it couldn't be climbed down or up, but it gave Mitch a beautiful view of the hot sand and shimmering waves.

The sun was still high in the sky, and it painted the water in gorgeous colors of orange and blue. Mitch had only ever seen so much water once, and it had been distant and black as a raven's feather.

She stood tall, opened her arms and spun around in the ocean air, laughing and screaming happily into the wind.

On the other hand, there was someone completely new in the forest. He wasn't really too aware of the forest itself, so he was taking a cautious approach through the trees. His ears twitched occasionally here and there at every other sound. He didn't exactly want to go treking through the woods. Not in the least! There were bugs there. And bugs were scary!

But he had heard of the most wonderful view of the beach! That was sold up as something so great! And, naturally, he heard he could get down to the beach from it. Now Kris wasn't the smartest boy. He didn't realize one could probably just go to the beach and climb up. Instead, he elected to also go through the forest. Not the entire thing, however. A short cut through it.

So there he was. In a tanktop. Shorts. And some flippy flops. With a beach bag. "Maybe I should've worn something better and just changed at the beach. There was probably even a place to change there.

Of course, while he was moping about his current condition, he hadn't noticed that a bug had started to climb up on his foot. There was a brief pause as he glanced down at it before he let out a loud scream as he shook his foot violently, losing one of his precious purple flipflops, and then set his speed to the max as he tore through the forest - onto the cliff area!

His terror-filled run was bringing him straight towards a person he hadn't even seen yet - Mitch! And if she wasn't quick to react, that little pup boy was going to run straight into her!

Mitch turned as someone came out of the forest in a hurry. Actually, they were hurling themselves at her! But Mitch wouldn't just jump out of the way and let the kid possibly tumble down the cliff, that just wasn't in her.

She braced her, light on her feet and let him collide with her, using the gathered momentum to have them both tumble to the side rather than back off the cliffside. Sure, someone could climb down, but it was still jagged and far down enough to have someone seriously injured.

When they were both safe from danger, Mitch sat up and inspected the boy with a frantic, motherly sort of care. "Oh gosh! Are you okay? You aren't hurt? You have to be careful! You could have fallen right off that cliff!"

Beyond a few ripped clothing and some stitching on her ear that had torn open, Mitch was right as rain. Sure, the bleeding ear bled a lot more than the wound was painful or big, but she hardly noticed it.

The boy was left there, seeing stars after colliding with the other person. He began to blink a little bit as the woman doted over him, inspecting him. To be honest? He sorta liked it. It was a nice gesture and it made the tail of his wag a little bit. He was mostly unharmed besides a couple bruises and a ripped tank top from the entire ordeal.

That was until he tried to stand up. Running in flip flops and literally running into people were great recipes for twisted ankles - which he now had one of! He let out a soft whine for a moment, about to speak out about how much his ankle hurt until he saw she was bleeding!

Now no amount of pain and motherly doting could distract him from a lady being hurt! He seemed a bit concerned. "Don't worry about me, my ankle only hurts a bit - but you're bleeding! Are you alright?"

Mitch was confused until she reached up and touched her ear. She peered at her fingers, which had come away with a nice serving of red and huffed. "It is fine! I didn't even feel it. Your ankle hurts? Can you stand on it?" Mitch positioned one of her long pigtails over her ear to hide the blood away from him and rubbed her dirtied hand on her black dress.

"Do I need to get you to a hospital?"
