Ryder practically fell at the ground in worship when she gave him sunglasses. He didn't care what they looked like. All he cared about was being able to see and NOT go blind from the light. He slipped the glasses on, and grinned. "I guess I take the cake for weirdest boy, but you saved my eyesight. Thanks." he almost hugged her, and then stopped himself. He cleared his throat, wondering what had prompted him to think of that.

"Let's take care of that headache." he thought for a moment, "And do me a favor, try not to read too much into my emotions." he grinned at her, and then strode forward towards the hospital to save his wing.

Shasta scoffed as she stalked after him, as if she would read his emotions. Not only was it completely awkward and gave you WAY too much information it was a total invasion of privacy. She noticed that she was falling behind and jogged slightly to catch up with him and turned her head towards him.
Just so you know, I never read your emotions, usually I can keep my mind very clear, and my powers under complete control. You just fell in at a very inoportune time, and on top of that, your mind was so completely clouded with pain that was all I saw, well rather, felt. she said with an obstinate nod of the head.

He raised an eyebrow at her. And then he raised his hands almost as though to ward off her sharp words. "Okay." he said simply, dipping his head for emphasis. He breathed out slowly, pausing in his stride for a moment.

His wing hurt, his temper was rising, and he was wearing glasses that even a girl shouldn't wear. "I don't have time for this." he mumbled, lengthening his stride again, utilizing his long legs to their extreme.

Shasta glared at the back of his head, as he strode off, usually she didn't get angry at people but her eyes were well on their way to crimson with fury. She hadn't been rude and now he was just stalking off away from her. In that moment of her foolish anger, his also slid into her mind and she was doubly angry. She quickened her pace to catch up with him when she got a head of him she turned around, jogging backwards, her eyes a deep crimson.
May I remind you that it is in fact your fault that we are in this predicament. Having those hulking things on your back you'd think you would know how to use them by now! she said and turned back around heading off towards the school at a heightened pace.

Ryder stopped walking and let her walk away from him. Had his eyes been uncovered, they would have been even darker than normal. He was fuming, but everything he had taught himself told him to stay. So he did. Once she was out of hearing range, he mumbled, "I can fly better than you could even wish to."

(TIMESKIP< KERCHOW!)

Later, after he'd cooled down, he got information on where to find Shasta's room. He had gone by his room and picked up a pair of his cool black mirrored sunglasses, and then popped down to the school's gift shop to buy some sunglasses of which he got several girl's opinions on.

Then it was up to Shasta's room. He knocked on her door, and hoped secretly that she wasn't there so he could just leave the sunglasses and a note or something.

Shasta was sitting on her bed listening intently to her iPod trying to drown out all her anger and frustration, it was always much harder to get rid of someone elses emotions because you didn't know where they stemmed from, they were just there. "Apologize" by OneRepublic had just started playing when there was a knock on the door. She rolled over on her side and mumbled "go away" silently. At this point she was more upset than angry, upset that she'd let her emotions cloud her vision, and upset that she had felt his emotions, it was all just very frustrating. She wanted to just lay there and die but that wasn't the way she was so with a sigh she flung back the covers and hopped out of bed. Assuming it was just Sagari or the dorm supervisor she didn't feel the need to change her clothes, though she was only wearing a baggy man's tee shirt that just barely covered her underwear. So when she walked over to the door and flung it open to see Ryder she automatically turned bright red and her eyes turned a very golden shade of yellow. Without even thinking Shasta grabbed the door and slammed it shut in front of Ryder's face. Running back over to her bed she grabbed a pair of jeans and tried pulling them on too quickly making her fall over on top of her bed. When she had successfully put on the jeans she went back over to the door, still red in the face, and with yellow eyes.
Sorry about that...come on in...
she said and stepped aside making room for him to enter through the door.

Ryder had not expected her to open the door, let alone dressed like...that. The brain to eyes signal of 'look away look away' took a few seconds, and he swallowed. And then he looked away. But the image of her in nothing but an oversized t-shirt was burned into his brain.

When she opened the door again, he cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck. "Ehh.. It's okay. I just....um, well I wanted to apologize for losing my temper earlier.." he grinned at her, ignoring the throb in his wing. "And give your sunglasses an upgrade. Here." he held out the sunglasses to her while desperately trying to erase that image from his head.

Shasta sighed exasperated with this whole situation. That kid was just too dang stubborn. She took the sunglasses and smiled at him, they were indeed much better than hers. She looked back at him and looked him over.
Wait here just one second. she said and shut the door once again, this time more gently. Rummaging around she couldn't find it anywhere! Where was the last place she'd seen it? She had let Sagari use it one time when Gar had twisted her knee...
That was it! It was underneath Sagari's bed!
She ran over to Gar's be and grabbed the sling and ran back to the door.
She opened it again and handed it to Ryder.
For your arm if you so choose. she said and kissed his cheek quickly.
thanks for the shades.

Her lips touched his cheek and he practically freaked out. He turned slightly pink and muttered an "Oh geez.." before stumbling backwards away from her. Unfortunately, backwards meant over the balcony. He caught himself on the sling and sighed after mumbling, "Troublesome.."

Then he let go and flipped his wings open, trying to ignore the shooting pain, and floated himself to the ground. Once his feet touched, he collapsed on his face with his wings limp, and muttered a string of words deeply under his breath that would make a sailor blush.

Shasta gasped and ran over to the balcony, just in time to see him collapse to his knees in pain. Without even a second guess she put her legs up on the balcony rail and pushed off to grab onto the branch of the tree a couple of feet from the dorm building. She caught the branch and planned and dropped down onto the one below it, jumping off. She landed on her feet but fell on her knees, she jumped up quickly and ran over to where Ryder was.
Ryder! I am so sorry! Are you okay?! I am such an idiot! she said knotting her fingers in her hair in rage with herself and concern for him. She knelt down next to him and hovered a hand over his shoulder afraid to touch him anymore than she had.
Is there anything I can do for you? she asked quietly.
