Somehow, he'd been convinced. He couldn't remember how, he couldn't remember why, but he was now off the streets with what little posessions he owned, and in a very strange place.

He had shed his trench coat after seeing about 10 people flying around on their pitiful wings. His huge black wings were slack, unused to being free from their cage of a trench coat.

There were so many people, so many strange looking ones, and nobody seemed to know that powers were likely to be used in a circus if found out. He adjusted his sunglasses over his dark eyes as he entered the lounge.

His mouth turned upward in a kind of crooked smile. These kids were all rich. They had no idea what the real world was like, poor things.

Shasta walked into the lounge with her hands in the pockets of her baggy black zip up sweater. Her blue hair was shaggy and unbrushed around her shoulders. Her black converse not even making a sound as she walked into the room with her black eyes completely uninterested.
She looked around, a bunch of the rich kids talking, and laughing. Her feelings of the school? Love, hate. When she was with Sagari, she loved it, when she was by herself she hated it.
She spotted one person that she hadn't seen before, a guy about her age probably, with black hair and wings. Since he didn't look like one of the rich stuck up kids, and more like herself and Sagari she decided he was her best bet for an actually, meaningful conversation.
She walked over to where he was and asked a question.
Can I sit down?

He glanced up at the sound of a voice, and his smile widened so that it wasn't so lopsided. "Yeah sure." he agreed, dipping his head in agreement.

"So, eh. I'm kind of new here..." he chuckled and ran a hand through his shaggy hair, "Actually, I just got here. But, eh, are there any things that I should watch out for?" he questioned her, entirely at ease with speaking to a girl. For now.

Shasta plopped down on the chair across from him. She sighed, things to watch out for?
Evil students, evil teachers, students that couldn't control their powers yet, the science lab, and a lot of other things. But did she want to scare him off right now? Not so much, if she could get a real conversation for once, it would be good.
Not a lot. Just watch out for the younger kids, a lot of them don't have their powers down pat yet. she said with a smile and leaned back a little.
I'm Shasta by the way.

He nodded. "This is all very strange." he murmured to himself, adjusting himself in his seat a bit more, spreading his huge wings so that they flopped over the edge of his chair, rather comically.

"I'm Ryder." he added, cute little smile still on his face. He laughed as he tried to adjust himself one more time. "I guess it's obvious that I don't to a whole lot of sitting, huh?" he asked, finally giving up on looking even vaguely composed, and getting looks. His wings were of enormous proportion to him, so having them flopped over the chair looked extremely hilarious, to say the least.

Shasta ran her fingers through her hair as Ryder spoke, she remembered her first day, she'd met Sagari, and her talking bear, not only that but the odd little boy that didn't speak. It was hard being here, especially if you hadn't known anyone with powers growing up.

It gets easier the more you're here, especially if you can find someone that is a lot like you, or someone you can get to know easily.
She wasn't making much sense, but she didn't really know how to explain her relationship with Sagari...it was confusing. Even to her. She shook her head trying to clear her thoughts.
It just gets easier.
She finally looked over at him and noticed the black wings flopped over the chair.
So, what's it like? she asked motioning to the wings. Flying, I mean.

Ryder grinned. "It's amazing." he told her, adjusting his sunglasses, "It's the same weightless feeling as swimming, but high above the ground. Nothing is bad up there. It's like as soon as you reach a certain height, all of humanities bad sides disappear so you can see the whole."

He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. Flying was one thing that could have him rambling on for hours. "But yeah. It's good." he stretched, and accidentally spread his wings in a stretch too. They hit a kid in the stomach, and Ryder clapped a hand over his mouth to keep from laughing. He quickly composed himself and mumbled an apology as the kid gave him a dirty look.

Shasta giggled as he accidentally smacked the boy in the stomach with his wings. With a small cough she regained her composure and looked back up at him.
what classes are you taking? Not that I ever show up, so even if we did have classes together, you wouldn't see me. she said with a grin. She hated taking classes here, they were all so boring. Her power didn't need controlling, it was harmless even if she did loose control. All it would do was read the emotions of everyone around her. Her getting a killer migraine would probably be the only side effect.

Ryder froze momentarily, before regaining his composure. "Ehhh...Well....." he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "I don't really know why I'm here in the first place. One minute I was talking to this kid, and the next I was in a taxi on my way here." he shifted uncomfortably.

"And eh..It'd be kinda pointless for me to take classes..." he turned a little pink and looked away, "Since I can't..erm..read."

Shasta automatically kicked into Sagari mode, she had been spending FAR too much time around that completely idiotic, selfless girl, so without even stopping to think or showing any signs of shock or her facial expression even changing she simply said
want me to teach you?
