"Sure.." he said as he stood up. He reached his hand dowbn to help her up. He was still trying not to do anything to stupid or anything he would regret later.
Taken aback, Joe blinked and didn't answer for a few minutes. By the time she did, they were at the designated tree. She turned and rested her shoulder against the tree. Looking up at him she smiled tentatively. "Well, we've only known each other maybe an hour...I don't know, Kartik...." Her voice trailed off and she dipped her eyelids.
Eyes wide, Joe realized she had hurt Kartik. Reaching out her hand, she grabbed his arm before he could get too far. "Kart," she began, shortening his name, "I was only joking. Of course I'll go out with you!" She smiled.
