Hiatus
In all honesty all these classes hurt Jacota's head. He hadn't gone to school even one day in his life before coming to the island, just living as a street dog most of his life, and then suddenly he had to be a person for almost an hour just to sit on a desk and try to learn about economy and history. It baffled Jacota, even though some subjects were fine, fun even, most made him want to growl from frustration. If he wasn't able to see Ishvi in between classes or nap Jacota would've gone crazy.

Jacota was lightly jogging away from the academy after yet another exhausting class, his head felt heavy and though it wasn't hot Jacota felt like panting. He shook himself and took running, heading out of the main gates and straight into the woods by the academy. Jacota couldn't go too far, he still had classes today, but he didn't want to bother Ishvi either so that left napping in the shade.
The air was getting chillier, which was just fine with Jacota. He was built for winter and cold and every year they came he rejoiced. Jacota sniffed the autumn air and his tail wagged, as he looked for the perfect napping spot.

Jacota plopped down under an old oak tree with thick foliage, that offered great shade. He rolled around a bit, enjoying the feeling of grass against his fur. Jacota really liked being a dog. Although...
Ishvi flashed through Jacota's mind, and he froze on his back, looking up at the leaves. Jacota could only hold Ishvi's hand in human form, and even though his pets were nice...it wasn't the same.
Jacota huffed and finished his rolling, settling down on his side and closing his eyes. He'd think about it later.

Oaksprout bounced through fallen leaves, taking advantage of her resistance to the cold to enjoy the fall weather. Her fur was already full of bits of leaves, dirt, and twigs. Paragon would not be happy if he saw her like this, but the lectures about keeping herself clean never stuck. There was just too much to do outside, so much of the island she hadn't explored. Oaksprout bounced through fallen leaves, kicking up dirt and pouncing on the slightest of rustling caused by the wind. The forest outside the academy was safe enough that Paragon didn't mind her going in alone, and it wasn't hard to find other people out here. It was a popular spot. Oaksprout was overjoyed when she caught the scent of an unfamiliar wolf. A new person to befriend! Someone new to play tag, or hide and seek. The tiny wolf pup wasted no time in following them, hunting them down with her tail wagging profusely.

The wolf she'd found was taking a nap, but that would never stop Oaksprout from being the bounciest wolf pup on the island. She paused, crouched just far enough away that he couldn't reach her if he woke up early, then pounced with all the might her tiny little body could form to land squarely on his side. That was the attempt, at least. Oaksprout's landing left much to be desired, slipping off her target to land head-first into the leaves behind them. The wolf pup giggled, clearly happy with herself though the larger wolf whose nap she'd just interrupted was probably less amused.

Jacota was usually always alert, that was the first thing you learned on the streets. But today his head was heavy, mind fuzzy, and the island was starting to dull Jacota's guard and he kept it down much more often. Thus, Jacota was asleep and wasn't alerted by the puppy that approached him. Although when it jumped on his side Jacota jolted violently and shot up, already snarling and ready to bite and scratch at anything that was attacking him. But there was nothing there. Or, well, not in front of him. Jacota heard noises from behind him and turned to look behind him, still snarling. His lips fell down to cover his teeth when Jacota saw a wolf puppy, giggling happily in the leaves. Jacota tilted his head in confusion and approached the puppy, sniffing at her.
"Why did you jump on me? It's dangerous, I bite."
Jacota said in human language.

Oaksprout barked at Jacota, immediately sitting up and grinning with her tongue lolling out. She paused a few seconds before bouncing up to sniff him. She wiggled under one of his legs, crawling out on his left side, then circling him and doing the same thing in reverse under his right. The tiny pup barked agian, then shifted back to a human form, still in the academy uniform.

"HI!!""

Oaksprout sat on the ground in front of Jacota, still grinning with her tail wagging happily.

"I'm Oaksprout and I'm a very fearsome wolf just like my dads!" She giggled and made a 'grr' sound, arms above her head with fingers twisted like claws. Very menacingly adorable.

Jacota took a hesitant step back, when the puppy bounced towards him at an attempt to sniff him. Jacota didn't back away far enough so the puppy couldn't smell him, but he wanted to avoid her touching him suddenly. And, in the end, Jacota liked other dogs and wolves, especially young ones. He didn't feel threatened with puppies.
Jacota looked down, as the puppy messed around him, and he lifted his legs whenever it looked like she might touch him. Jacota couldn't avoid small contact here and there, and he did a good job of not flinching when the pup touched him.
"I asked why you jumped on me, puppy."
Jacota voiced again, since she seemed distracted.

When the puppy suddenly shifted Jacota took a significant step back, and held back a snarl. But she still didn't seem threatning, and still had wolf-like features. And she was a child, which was clear from her gestures and words. Jacota tilted his head a bit again in confusion and slight amusement.
"I'm Jacota Tee, I'm a dog person."
And with those words Jacota shifted as well, looking down at Oaksprout, his ears perked on top of his head and his tail swaying slowly.

Oaksprout giggled happily, clapping when Jacota transformed himself as well.

"Paragon says jumping on people is bad but I forget that lots and jump anyways. I like people!! People are so much fun!"

Oaksprout leaned forward, reaching with one hand outstretched towards his nose. She frowned when he avoided her touch, dropping her arm. The frown never lasted long, smile returning before her arm had fallen to her lap.

"You don't like people. That's okay! We could play games instead! Do you like playing hide and seek? Or tag? I like learning new games too! Will you play with me?"

The little pup transformed back to being a wolf, running a circle around Jacota. She bounced and kicked up leaves, pausing in front of him at the end of each circle to grin at him and wag her tail.

Jacota was confused by how this child could be so chipper and happy, even though she didn't even know him. And when he dodged her touch her obvious frown and displease made Jacota feel guilty, and his ears pressed down a bit and his tail drooped.
"It's not that I don't like them..."
Jacota muttered, but Oaksprout cheered up quickly and asked Jacota to play with her. Jacota fidgeted a bit, he didn't want Oaksprout to be sad again, so he simply nodded.

Jacota transformed back along with Oaksprout, he had been in his human form out of courtesy for her, and looked at the puppy running circles around him. And the next time she came in front of him Jacota reached forward and booped her with his paw.
"You're it."

Oaksprout barked happily at Jacota, giving him an adorably tiny growl to warn him that she was full of energy and ready to start chasing. When he took off she was right at his heels, though she would occasionally fall behind from getting caught on stray branches or slipping on the fallen leaves. There was no doubt that she was having fun though, grinning in the adorable way only toothy canines can every time he looked back at her.

If Oaksprout had been a mess when she found Jacota, she was definitely a disaster now. Her gray fur was coated in dirt and decaying leaf-bits, and she was finding it harder and harder to avoid tripping over her own paws. Knowing that her new friend wouldn't be on to her old tricks, Oaksprout let herself fall over a tree root with dramatic flair and a loud yelp to attract his attention. She lay in wait where she fell, prepared to jump up the moment he returned so she could tag him back.

Jacota let out an amused huff at the pup, when she growled at him, and if he had been in his human form Jacota would've smiled. He did a small feint movement to excite Oaksprout some more and hopped over her before lightly jogging away, easily leaving Oaksprout behind but going slow so she'd be able to keep up. Occasionally Jacota barked playfully at Oaksprout, daring her to try and catch him.

Jacota's ears perked at the yelp Oaksprout let out, when she fell over a root quite flashily. Jacota stopped and waited for the pup to get up, and when she didn't Jacota approached her, sniffing at her with concern. But when Jacota got close and nudged Oaksprout with his nose the pup jumped up and tagged him back. Jacota huffed from surprise and looked down at Oaksprout, sneaky little fox. Jacota wagged his tail and lowered his front body, his backside sticking up, inviting Oaksprout to play. He'd start chasing Oaksprout, not actually trying to catch her but just trying to make her have as much fun as possible. And maybe he was having some fun too.
