Private Finished What Goes Bump In The Night

"I'd love to learn things fast. Then I have more info to sacrifice. Ah, I'll explain it over coco." Delaney said, "Oh yeah. Basically any time I'm bored and at the library." She'd stroll over to the magic section and hunt for useful information.

"Yeah, that'd be nice." Delaney said to the offer of an arm. "Georgette won't mind. She's off the clock after all." The poodle wagged her tail upon hearing her name. Delaney collapsed her cane, and let Shiro guide her to the cafe.

"I like crafting." Delaney said, happy to talk of her hobbies. "I sew, embroider, make stuff from paper. How about you?"

Delaney's face went blank for a moment, and she let out a surprised "ah!" Of course! It was so obvious! "I could totally learn how to do that! Oh my gosh, I need to find a magic book or magic teacher and start learning this stuff!" What was she doing in school learning boring school things for? It's such a waste!

"Knots, huh? Yeah, that's fun. I used to do crochet stuff when it rained. I'd find old knit stuff in thrift shops and would tear them apart for yarn." Not that yarn wasn't cheap, but tearing up old knitted things was usually cheaper. Delaney ordered a hot coco with a pump of caramel. "Yeah! I've been to the mall with my friends and got this awesome dress at uh, crap, I can't remember the name. But my friends were all 'Dela, this store is so you.' And it was."

She giggled, "You'll have to tell me all the shops you know about." Though Dela didn't have the most clothes money, she could still get ideas for her next up-thrifting projects.

Delaney sipped her hot coca and it was perfect! Juuuuust the right amount of chocolate to milk ratio and not too hot. "Time to start using my local resources." She said with wicked glee. Though, there was one sure way to break Delaney's cool goth exterior, and that was with honest compliments. Shucks, Shiro! Bold and awesome much? Delaney's cheeks reddened, embarrassed and flattered in one blushing package.

"You're not so bad yourself." Delaney chuckled, trying to recapture her cool attitude. "It just so happens I'm on the hunt for a cool goth friend and you fit the bill." Delaney reached down to ruffle Georgette's eats. Petting her dog helped ground her. "Only if its a little piece. Don't want her getting fat and lazy." Delaney tried to be careful with what Georgette ate, even though she herself was guilty of sneaking table food from time to time.

"So how'd you come to the island?" Delaney asked in between sips of her drink.

Delaney puzzled over her next free day. If she wasn't in detention then she was with her friends, usually. "Can I have your number? I'll text you when I get free time." That was probably the safest solution. Plus, she'll have Shiro's number. Double win! "Just don't go telling others about my weakness. I got a rep you know." She added, tone teasing.

She listened as Shiro detailed her arrival to the island. No, it wasn't as exciting as killing an elder god, but Delaney's way to the island wouldn't have been her first pick. Then again, she wouldn't be on the island at all without it. "That makes sense and all, as you were born with your powers, right?"

"No problem," Dela said, and would likely take Shiro on her offer for night texting. Though Delaney could tune out the voices in her head, every now and then they kept her up with chatter of events happening millions or trillons of light years away. "Night cat sounds cooler," She added with a grin.

"A panther?" Though Georgette did well around the vast majority of islanders, a big cat suddenly appearing? "Ah, I'm not sure but I don't need a ride." As cool as that would be, "I can walk. We're not that far from the dorms." She paid attention on the way over, so Delaney was fairly certain she could make it back to school on her own if need be.

Delaney finished her hot coco about the same time as Shiro finished her drink. "Ask away," She said with a smile.
