Levina again found herself merely listening as Lucretia seemingly picked apart her past and personality. When she heard the water was for her, she grabbed it quickly, holding the glass with both hands while she sipped some.
She wanted to leave. She wanted to go back to her apartment...alone. Yet that would just be admitting Lucretia was right. She had no one she could turn to and would just be sitting at home because no one cared enough about her. How could Levina break this funk before she broke down?
"I actually haven't been drunk in years. Seems my body is supercharged in multiple ways."
Easy out and she took it. Holding onto the glass still, Levina took another small sip before setting it back down.
"You keep acting like I have no control. I wouldn't be one of the most sought after personal assistants if I couldn't control myself."

"Most sought after? I don't think I've heard of you.....at all. Maybe our spheres on occupation are too far apart. What sort of work does your boss do? Hedge funds? Retail? Construction?" She asked her question and accepted the fresh glass of water handed to her. Levina hadn't mentioned what kind of work she did when they first met and granted she didn't care enough to ask at the time, but now she was somewhat curious. "If you are as good as you say you are I may have to steal you from them." She carried a joking tone as she took another sip of her cold water.

The last thing she needed was more people to micromanage. Between the Syndicate and her Security work, she had no spare time to teach some new girl the ropes and make sure she wasn't some rival mole looking to get their teeth pulled. A week ago some idiot thought he was going to go through the space station unnoticed and immediately found himself back on the ship he came in on leaking fluid.

A few months back she had to send some people to take another gang member's girlfriend hostage because he was late on his loan payments. Point is she could probably use another assistant but they have to come from the syndicate themselves to make sure nothing fucked up their operations.

Levina merely laughed when Lucretia said she hadn't heard of her. It was both surprising and not. She had been off the employment market for a while now, and even when she was looking, she had been extremely picky on who she had let know about her availability.
"I work for the owner of Immortal Brews and Spirits. I'm tasked with everything from handling negotiations to personnel and anything else he may need, including anything personal."
Speaking about her job made her a lot more comfortable and confident again. She did, however have to be careful at what she said about Mathos and his dealings.
"And I, uh, don't think he would appreciate you stealing me. Not that you could."

"Doesn't remind me of anything right away. Maybe we get some of our alcohol from you guys." She shrugged a bit not putting too much time into the thought. " And trust me just like I could steal you from your partner I could surely pull you from your boss. I can be very persuasive when I need to be." She leaned in as she spoke before leaning back to her original position and giving a small smirk.

"At the very least it sounds like you've landed yourself a solid position at a brewery. Many personal assistants find themselves doing more busy bodywork then meaningful tasks." What followed would be a string of alien words translating roughly to May all hunts be so gifted. Lucretia didn't take the immediate time to tell her the meaning but she did give a small raise of her glass before finishing the water.

"You don't."

Levina's response to them getting the spirits through Immortal came quick and with zero hesitation. Her face gave nothing away on that front. The assistant might wear her emotions on her sleeve, but when it came to business, Levina could hang with the best.
"But you should. I only know this because I know about everything that goes on at the brewery and I would more than likely be handling anything face to face. Mr. Sandoval trusts me very much."
Levina cracked a smile at Lucretia doubling down that she could steal Levina away from Mathos. If she only knew.
"And I'm telling you, you couldn't unless he let me go. I'm very very good at my job. One of those things that makes me that good and sought after, is loyalty."
Watching her recite a few words, Levina merely sat in respectful silence until the glass was raised in which she mimed Lucretia and raised her glass as well before taking a small sip.

"Loyalty is a good thing to have for someone or something that deserves it. You must really like your job to be so unshakable." Lucretia took a second to ponder a thought "Tell me are you native to the island or did you come from one of the other earth countries." she had a reason for her question but didn't make it obvious, to begin with. Having information on people was a valuable thing and if Lavina was as famous as she proclaimed then maybe she could be of some use somewhere.

If it was true that the Blank Slate and her business were not in any form of relationship maybe it'd be to the casino's benefit to start one. Dipping their toes into different streams of income was always a welcomed adventure so having Vex Realty look into who ran the company and its earnings would surely be on the list of things to pass along to her fund group.

"You don't strike me as one but I am open to being wrong." Lucretiaslid one of the ice cubes from her cup into her mouth as she listened to Levina. Pinging natives versus immigrants was rather difficult given the nature of the island but it did come with some assumptions that Lucretia wanted to be confirmed.

Levina switched her crossed legs and straightened her dress a little. Loyalty was one of the biggest things Mathos asked for and even demanded. You didn't have to be the best if you were loyal, but Levina wanted to be more than a good employee.
"I thoroughly enjoy my job. Being loyal pays off for everyone. I take care of Mr. Sandoval's business, and he takes care of me by providing insight, skillsets, and frankly a kind salary."
Was she a native? Absolutely not. She, like so many others, found herself more or less forced to come here, but she had adapted and thrived here.
"I am not a native. I have been on the island for about six years however."
It had been long enough to establish herself and fall in with Tomas before his fall and return as Mathos. She had proved enough to him that he had reached back out to her. She had proved she was good enough.

A small I see escaped Lucretia's breath as she listened to Levina. It confirmed some things and ousted some others but it all was neatly stored away in the mental file she had set away for the women. What intrigued her most however was the mention of her boss Mr.Sandoval. The name didn't immediately come to mind but granted Ovidio might've heard of the man. The business world here was small in comparison to the far reaches of space so it only made sense he'd have some insight. A new file opened in her head, later to be filled on information regarding the man Levina so fervently followed.

"Sounds like your boss is a kind man. For him to take you so close to his business must mean he holds you in some regard." She crunched an ice cube in her mouth to shards in one go "Maybe I was wrong and there are some people that like being seen with you......or maybe not and your loyalty, and self-proclaimed skill are why he uses you so. Loyalty and skill are some of the best qualities any employer could ask for. To not use it to its full potential would be ...foolish."

Lucretia was purposefully prodding at the idea to see how Levina reacted. Whether she noticed the inquisitive prodding was up in the air but regardless Lucretia wouldn't care. Information was a powerful resource was what was drilled into her and that mantra stuck with her. Her colored eyes glared intently at Levina looking for any hint of discomfort.
Her words earlier may have struck a chord but it was clear that like most people Levina had some wounds in her past.

Levina did indeed shift uncomfortably in her seat at the mention of Mathos still not wanting to be seen with her. She ran a hand through her blue hair to distract herself before responding.
"It only makes sense for an employer to use their best employees to the full extent of their skills. It is simply good business. Then being trusted with the goals and vision of the business allows me to be able to watch out for opportunities that can help achieve that vision."
It almost seemed like a well rehearsed line. One that was practiced in a mirror time and time again to be able to be said at a moments notice. But it was also believable. That was in part because Levina truly believed it. Her shakiness only came in when speaking on her future with the business and specifically Mathos, and that was why she made sure to leave it out.

Lucretia gave a paltry clap toward Levina, being sure not to be too loud. "You should put that on a business card little lady. I'd bet you could pull a lot of investors with the little machine act but rest assured I've seen much better acting." Lucretia took a small evil pleasure in seeing Lavina squirm so the robotic response while telling was rather annoying to see.

"If just wanted say I was right about using your employees you could've just said that. The whole corporate speech was unnecessary." Lucretia leaned in closer to Levina " Don't worry I'll believe it as long as you do." Her statement may have seemed disjointed but that was because she was answering the idea she assumed Levina was telling herself No one is using me. I am appreciated. It was a thought she knew all too well. Suffering the abuse of others for an extended period of time can warp a persons mind to the point that justification is the only way to feel safe and secure.

Lucretia would motion to fix Levina's hair wherever she messed it up when running through it. If she let Lucretia would give off a snarky smirk before snapping for an attendant to come refill her glass of water.
