Private Finished We've Been Here Before, Adrastia

Rory hovered off the ground. Not a lot, but more than she'd been able to before. A slow and steady incline. She was showing off to Travis, who gave her a dubious look when she'd told him she wanted him to punch her in the face to test a power.

Granted, Rory's idea of power testing was always... unconventional. Still! She was proving the point that her powers were enhancing and she wasn't in any danger of being hurt. Travis took more convincing than he normally would have, but Rory couldn't blame him for that. He had just held a man's scalp in his hand only a few days ago.

Travis caved to that much faster than Rory would have given him credit for. She closed her eyes and steeled herself as Travis' fist made way for her face. She felt the weight of it, but it rolled past her and Rory didn't budge a damn inch.

She opened her eyes, perplexed despite knowing it would work, and stared ay Kaiju. "Not even a warning? Damn man. That's why we're friends! I'm very alive, you fuck. See? I'm alive!"

"Inertia control mother fucker!" Rory said as she thrust a fist to the ceiling in triumph.

"I can do all sorts of weird, wacky shit. Not as good as The Alexandrian's, but I also don't have six million souls making up my body so I feel like it's a good trade-off."

Rory laughed at this. "Because all the souls are dead? But now you're making me want to practice tying a cherry stem with my tongue. That shit is so cool."

She shook her head, still grinning. "Probably! But, eh, give me a few minutes. I think it takes, like two minutes, for me to be able to do that shit again. Not perfect, but still sweet, y'know? Hey! Remember when we used to have to hit you to get your beams to work?"

"Probably not a lot! No one ever got to see us really do it, sucks too, because how great of a confusion tactic would that have been?" Rory laughed with him, giving his arm a light punch.

"Pu-lease. Jude's was unexpected but we always knew my weird Alexandrian-esque shit was still kickin' in. Like, how long ago did he tell me I was going to fly and shit? Forever ago. Bet you can do more weird metal and magnetic shit."
