Zar smiled when he noticed she was checking him out. He couldn't help but notice that she was attractive in her own right. But hey, he wasn't going to do anything about it. Chances are she had not interest in him what so ever.
Well, my story is pretty average. Grew up with a mom and dad. Then when I was ten my dad left. About four years later I was sketching a picture of him, a rather good likeness I might say, and I accidently channeled his soul into the picture, you see that's my power, I can pull the souls of the dearly departed into pictures that match their likeness. Well it turned out my dad wasn't dead but had done some stupid experiment to channel his own soul into a picture. I inherited my powers from him. Well now he's in a comatose state in Europe somewhere. We were trying to figure out a way to put his soul back in his body but he's disappeared. he threw in a shrug there. He doubted his dad was in much trouble, but there was always that shadow in the back of his mind....
What about you? If you don't mind my asking... he said and put his hand on the table leaning most of his weight on it.

Loo grinned. "No, I don't mind. My parents were supportive of my sister's and my gifts. We lead an awesome home life, but not so awesome everywhere else. My sister and I were allways in fights, usually I got in there to take care of her. Umm..Our parents didn't take us out of school, 'cause they figured that we needed to learn how to handle tough situations." she paused, brushing her hair behind her ear, "Anyways, one day my sister got jumped by 16 guys. I was a little late to the scene, and she'd already gotten alot of wounds. I got some pretty bad stuff too. But after that, my parents decided to send me and my sister here. So here I am." she spread her arms wide, then shrugging easily.

Zar shook his head in disgust when he heard about Luthien and her sister getting jumped.
That's just wrong, that is the kind of thing that makes me just, well...in a nice way put off. I'm sorry about those guys, they deserve a lot worse than what they did to you, that's for sure.
He said moving a hand to push some loose hair behind his ear.
That kind of thing just made him angry, even if he hadn't know Luthien and had just heard about her story he would have been angry, but he had a liking for her and that made it even worse...

Loo smiled softly, but shrugged. "Don't worry about it. There's nothing you can do about it, and I'm safe here, learning how to defent myself better against people like them." her words held her light New Zealand accent, and she cocked her head slightly to the side, red hair showering to one side, over her shoulder.

"You're very kind," she remarked, noticing the feelings of anger that had passed into her when she'd told him about her sister getting jumped. So she felt the need to make the comment. She never was one for beating around the bush, and said exactly what she meant, exactly when she meant it.

Zar smiled at the compliment.
Thank you, but I merely said what anyone in their right mind would say...
He looked and saw her head cocked to the side, her hair falling over her shoulder, in that light it was gorgeous.
Wait...hold that... he said quietly and walked over to his sketch pad and picked up a charcoal pencil.
As any artist will tell you, you don't pick the art, the art picks you, and that pose jumped out at him, it cried to be drawn.
He quickly did the rough sketch of her body position then added in the details, clothes, hair, eyes, nose, lips.
The whole thing took him about 10 minutes. It was rough, but it was one of his favorites.
He looked up at her and smiled showing her the sketchpad.
What do you think?

Loo had taken a breath to say something when he said "Wait... hold that...." she closed her mouth, and obediantly remained in her position. A small, amused smile found it's way onto her face, making her eyes dance, as she remained in her position as he sketched. She was completely fine with remaining in her position, looking at him was no punishment, since after not seeing a nice, good looking guy for a while, it was rather refreshing. He was so into his sketching.

When he looked up at her again, a light twinge of pink came into her cheeks. She almost felt like she'd been eavesdropping, even though she was the subject of the drawing. Then he showed it to her, and she blushed a little darker. "I think you made me prettier than I am." she remarked easily, looking over the drawing. "But it's still absolutely amazing."

Zar smiled at her, a smile that reached his eyes, and let out a small chuckle at her comment of the picture being prettier than she was.
I don't think that's possible he said and slowly pulled the picture out of the sketchbook and sat the sketchbook down and walked over to her drawing still in hand.
Here. he said and handed it to her.

Loo, being one to accept straight out compliments, didn't blush, nor feel awkward about it. Instead, she made a theatrical bow, and said, in true Elvis Presly style, "Thank-yuh, thank-yuh vury much." though, since her Kiwi accent was always present, the result was rather comical, and she burst out laughing at herself.

She quickly got herself back under control though, though the held in laughter was obvious as she shoulders shook. She took the drawing and looked at it closely. "Thank-you." she said seriously, truly honestly thankful. But the seriousness didn't last, and she was still trying to keep herself from laughing at herself.

Zar couldn't help but laugh, her impression wasn't very good and her accent didn't help much. He was glad when she took the drawing seriously, Zhariah took even the most simple and ugly doodles seriously, and unrealistically expected the same of others. He looked at her as her shoulders shook and smiled, she was a funny girl.

Luthien, would you like to get something to eat and talk some more? He flushed a little, he wasn't very good at asking girls out.
I'm sorry, I'm pathetic when it comes to asking girls on dates... he said and scratched the back of his head as a distraction.

She cocked her head to the side, watching him flush a bit, a smirk of amusement pulling at the corners of her mouth, though she didn't allow it access to her face. She didn't blush this time, but allowed a grin to come onto her face as he apologized. "Well, first off, since I actually know you better now, I shall give you a nickname, and expect to be given the same royalty. You are now Zar." then she returned her head to it's original position, "And, I shall make it easier for you," she draped an arm around his neck, though she had to stand on tiptoe to do so, "Shall we go eat and chat?" she questioned with a thin brow raised, grin on her face, milking her Kiwi accent for all that it was worth.
