It had been a long week. One full of interviews and paperwork. It had been red tape and hoops to jump through from Monday right to now. But it had all been worth it. Every bit of extra hassle, every frustrated signature she signed, every phone call she made had finally paid off and earlier today she had received the call. You've been accepted. That's what the woman on the phone told her, and in that moment she had felt exhilarated. She had been approved to be a foster parent for the young Lamia, Iesha. The rest of the day had been spent getting the money together and going to the bank to make the needed payments on a place. Narraine's sister had accompanied her for this part, withdrawing money from her own account, and making a payment on the property on Narraine's behalf. With all the paperwork filled out, and the payment's made she was handed the keys to her new home.

The home itself was nothing too fancy. It was a two bedroom apartment on the third floor of a newer development, not 5 minutes walk from the academy. It had a modern kitchen, wonderfully large windows, a balcony, and two spacious bathrooms. The biggest draw was that it was spacious enough for the two Lamia to move around comfortably inside even if they had been in the same room. This was important as NArraine was 28 feet, and Iesha was 16 feet. They were by many accounts very large girls.

Narraine had spent some extra money having furnishings delivered, though most everything wasn't due to arrive until Monday. That wasn't too big of a problem as it would give the girls a chance to have their sleepover like she had promised. For now, a large mattress sat in the living room, with a TV stand sitting opposite it. The fridge had been stocked with a few types of meat, poultry beef, and human, all clearly marked and separately packaged. She had also made arrangements to have all of their things brought over from the academy on Monday, not that either of them had much to bring. All she had to do now was show Iesha to her new home.

Narraine had picked Iesha up and told her they were going to have a sleepover. She hadn't mentioned that they had been approved to live together, or that they had a new home to live in, all of it was going to be a surprise. Instead, she had presented a backpack and instructed the young Lamia to grab whatever she would need for the weekend and put it in the bag. She continued to remain vague on the where they were going, even when she directed them away from the campus dorms, and towards the apartments. All she would say is that they were going to look at something quick.

Upon arriving at the apartment, Narraine opened the door and allowed Iesha to enter. A large banner hung across the kitchen that read "Welcome Home Iesha!"

Iesha couldn't help but to be nervous for the sleepover with Narraine. This was to be the first she would spend a night she would spend ever with her new... friend? Guardian? Iesha wasn't sure what to make sure of their relationship but the more times they saw each other the more comfortable she felt being with the older Lamia. Iesha made sure to pack everything she thought she would have needed: toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, an extra set of clothes, a few of her school supplies, a puzzle ring that she wanted to show off to Narraine, and a copy of 1001 Arabian Nights written in Arabic.

Iesha thought she recalled Narraine mention that she had dorm on the campus which made it really strange when they left the academy. When Iesha questioned Narraine as to why they were leaving the school, Narraine said that she wanted to take her to special place first real quick. When Iesha pressed for more information she just gave her vague responses and saying stuff about how she will understand when they get there. Narraine was obvious keeping something from her that she didn't want Iesha to quite know yet. This made Iesha somewhat apprehensive but... she continued to slither just next to the older Lamia as she had come to trust her. They were both the same species and Narraine was been so wonderful with her that Iesha would not expect anything bad with her.

When Iesha first poked her head through the door, she marveled at the spacious environment of the apartment and how clean it was. Iesha was about to ask if they were visiting Narraine sister Aylin when she noticed the glaringly obvious sign hanging from the ceiling. Iesha squinted and slithered inside, looking up and rereading the sign several times. She would then turn to Narraine with a confused expression.

"I... I-I don't get it. I-isss... is thisss my home? I am to live here?" questioned Iesha, not entirely convinced by the large sign above and looked to Narraine for confirmation.

Narraine couldn't hide her excitement any longer. She had had to keep calm and reserved the entire time they had been together, but now, in this moment, it was shining through in a glorious fashion. "Yes. yes, you are. This is your new home. Here with me." her cheeks actually hurt from the massive smile that had stretched across her face. She felt like she was going to explode.

"I got the approval this morning. I've been going non-stop all day to get everything set up. I'm your new foster mom." It sounded so weird to say, not in a bad way, just so different from her normal way of thinking. She had never thought she would be able to call herself a mom in any regards, but now here she was, with a little one to take care of. it was incredibly hard to believe but so wonderful. "I'm going to be taking care of you and we are going to live here."

Narraine slithered further into the house and turned around to look at Iesha. She wasn't sure how the girl would react to this kind of news, if she would be happy, or hold back. Maybe she hadn't wanted a foster mom, and all of this was needless work. Still, even if that were the case She was certain she could care for the girl better than the school could. While they might have had the best intentions, a Lamia required special care that few could understand. There was no one better to provide that care than another Lamia.

"So... What do you think?"

Iesha blinked, then gasped in astonishment at the news. She could hardly believe the fact that she was live in such a nice spacious environment with Narraine. "R-r-really?! I'm... I'm to live here you? I... I ... I don't... I don't know what to say. Ummm...ummm..." on the verge of tears, Iesha claps her hands together, as if she was praying, and lowers her head to Narraine in submission to her "T-thank you! One thousands thanks Miss Narraine! I-I can't express m-my gratitude in words!" exclaimed Iesha, a few tears of joy falling from her cheeks. Iesha continued to hold her head low as she felt unworthy of Narraine's kindness to her.

"T-this morning? Wow... wow! Your to be my-" Iesha suddenly cut herself. While she greatly appreciated Narraine for all that she had done... it felt... wrong to to call her foster mom... or just mom. It just didn't seem right for Iesha to acknowledge Narraine as a replacement for her own deceased mother. Iesha reconsidered her words, then looked back to Narraine "I-I mean... your going to watch over me now? T-thats great! Thats really great!" spoke up Iesha, while the idea of referring Narraine as her mom (or rather her 'ami in her native Arabic) didn't sit well with her, she was still otherwise estatic to be able to live with Narraine!

"I think thats a good thing! Y-yeah... ummm... can I... I look around?" inquired Iesha, she was really curious of her new home and wanted to search every inch of it. This was all so very exciting for the young lamia.

Narraine Nodded when Iesha asked if she could look around. "Of course you can. This is your home. go on explore. We don't have a lot of furniture yet, that all comes on Monday." She looked around at the mostly empty space. She had ordered a living room set that would work well for them, it featured a large sofa that was able to handle their weight and a matching chair. There was also a coffee table coming that would be great for puzzles, or just sitting around.

She had also ordered a pair of bedroom sets. Again these had been picked with the understanding that the beds would need to support several hundred pounds each. And once everything arrived Narraine was planning a shopping trip for the two of them to pick out personalizing items for the bedrooms. Iesha would be able to get pictures and clothes, as well as puzzles and things, while Narraine could pick out some decor for her own room. Since they didn't have a lot of things, they were going to build their world together.

"Your room will be on the right over there. It even has its own bathroom." She said with a quick gesture to the open door on the right. "And I will be just across the living room right there. but for the weekend we can have a sleep over here in the living room. Oh, but what am I doing go look around. The Balcony is over there, and yeah."

When Iesha went to explore Narraine went over to the sink and poured herself a quick glass of water. She turned leaning herself against the counter while she sipped on her drink. Iesha had seemed so excited, and then the excitement seemed to dull a bit right after she had said, foster mom. She sighed. In her own excitement, she had stretched too far. referring to herself in such a term was not right. She would make a mental note to avoid it in the future.

Now she would wait for Iesha to return, so she could ask what the girl thought about their new home.

Iesha eyes the door to her room that Narraine had pointed out to her. Once Narraine gave her the go ahead to explore Iesha slide her way to door to her room and crept it open. The bed room itself was devoid of anything except for a large window. Still, she could imagine what the room would look like once the bed had arrived. Having been sleeping on hard dirt surfaces for all of her life it had taken Iesha awhile to get accustomed to sleeping on a bed. Her next destination was the bathroom that Narraine spoke of earlier.

As she entered, Iesha first passed through a walk-in cloest with empty shelves waiting to hold folded shirts, shirts and other clothes. Most of these would probably be empty for some time as Iesha never owned many clothes throughout her life. Her current wardrobe just consisted of three sets of the the Academy uniform. The bathroom was fancier than anything she was used and more spacey than the one she shared with at the Academy. The toilet in-between the sink counter and the wall but... as inconvenient as it was should could still position herself in a manner that she could still relieve herself when needed. This inconvenience sure beats the communal latrine in the far back of the cave or having poop in her own cage and sleep with it until someone cleaned it out. The shower had a nice set-up but was doubtful that she could fit her entire body inside the enclosed space.

The next place to investigate was the balcony! It had wonderful view, seeing the glamour of the city in the distance and the magnificence of the Academy perched like a marble castle. Iesha poked her head and moved her body several feet over the safety rails. If she was a plain old human she probably would have fallen but her her snake-like body was so heavy that it acted like as her support. Once she had taken in the view she slithered back to the main room, finding Narrine with a glass of water.

"T-this place is great! My bedroom is huge! A-a-and the outside... nice view... very nice view. You can see lots of many things." informed Iesha, she looks to Narraine drinking her water and suddenly realized that she was bit thirsty herself and spoke up "Can I... have some water too please?"

Narraine sat back watching Iesha moving from room to room exploring. She herself had done the same thing when she got here for the first time. It was surreal in so many ways. Just earlier this week she had nothing to her name, living from a dorm room, and eating from a cafeteria, to only days later sitting in her own kitchen, in a home that would protect and shelter her. Not just her, though, but Iesha as well. This was for her too. it would be a place of stability and safety for her so that she could grow and live a better life.

When she had finished exploring Iesha returned and asked for some water. For a moment Narraine seemed slightly confused. She had just assumed that the young Lamia would naturally make herself at home. "Oh.. yes of course." she said turning and grabbing a glass from the cupboard and filling it. She handed it to Iesha and refilled her own glass, watching her while she drank.

"You know, you will be able to decorate your room any way you want. I mean I'll help you of course, but we can do it any way you'd like." She was looking forward to that. She would be able to learn so much about Iesha from how she would want to do her room up.

Iesha takes the glass of water, grasping the object with delicate care and holds onto the glass with both hands. Iesha would then take gingerly sips of water as she would listen to Narraine's plans to decorate her room. Iesha stared blankly to Narraine, the idea of customizing her living space was... an idea she was unused to.

"U-umm... yes... w-w-we can do that. I... I don't think I would need to many things..." replied Iesha, thinking what it would be that would want to put in her room. Maybe a few things that remind of her home little. What those would be she wasn't sure.

"Umm... I think one thing I could r-really use is one of those... heat lamps?" she suggested, the Academy had given her her own but it was too big for her to bring and left it behind as she assumed she was going to eventually go back living in the doors.

"A-and... ummm... maybe one of those music boxes? The ones that play sssounds?"

Narraine began making a mental note of the things Iesha mentioned. A music box was certainly something she could do. She even knew a place that could custom make one to a tune she knew from her own home. A song that had been sung to her when she was very little. It would be a nice tradition to pass on. There was also the notion that it might help them bond a little more, having something like that between them.

The heat lamp was one that she had thought to be odd, but still within reason. Narraine was cold blooded just like Iesha, so they both had similar temperature requirements. The difference came from Iesha's home being in a dessert which she suspected was much warmer than her own home. So in a way, a heat lamp made sense. She still had no idea that it might have provided a comfort factor for the girl.

"What about colors? What's your favorite one? I was also thinking we could get you a desk, and a few things to play with. And books." Books were going to be a must-have, not just for Iesha, but just in general around the house. She already had plans to put up a bookshelf in the living room and have it full of stories from all over the world. On top of that, she wanted Iesha to have as many stories as she wanted, so they would need plenty of different ones.

Then they would use Iesha's color choices to pick out bedsheets, blankets, towels and other things to help personalize the spaces. A nice rug for the living room, and a new set of dishes. Narraine wanted Iesha to really feel like this was her home, and this stuff was all for her, which was why she wanted to make sure Iesha had say in almost everything that came through.

"Errumm... f-favorite color? Err... ummm... I don't know... purpleish?" spoke up Iesha, sounding a little flustered. She never thought of what her favorite color was until now. She only went with purple just to say something as it was the first color to come to her mind. Purple wasn't a bad color right?

"And b-books? Y-yeah... we can get those too. But... I kind of just like reading on the floor so... ummm... we don't have to get a desk... err... unless you think I need a desk."

Iesha was unsure if she really needed a desk as she would rather lay on her belly scales while working instead of having to sit in a desk. Laying down and spread out on the floor just felt a little more comfortable to her.

"Soo... ummm... what about you Miss Narraine? Umm... w-what things do you want for you room? A-a-and... ummm... fav-right... color? Do you have fav-right color?"

Iesha was curious and she repeated Narraine's questions back onto her as she was curious about her response, trying to learn more about her based on the sort of objects she would like in her room as well as find out her favorite color. Iesha assumed white but... it could be something else. And... it could be important to know if she were to make her something in the future.
