Noah was sitting on one of the window seats, staring out the window at the snow. On the first floor, a young student was dancing, and her footsteps echoed up to him no matter how lightly she stepped. Every half hour or so, a student or two would come in, glance around, and whisper 'so this is what I’m going to miss.' sadly. Apparently they had never heard of going by yourself.. Served them right, sheep that they were.
On his lap was his black notebook, although he had ignored it from the moment he walked in. The huge windows provided an excellent view of the school grounds, a random tree dotting the landscape here and there, black against white.
The girl downstairs stopped dancing, and only then did Noah even notice the noise that had been coming from the first floor. He flicked his gaze over to the large staircase, but she wasn't walking up, and he assumed she had simply left. He shrugged, turning back to the window and promptly forgetting her.
