Watching the snow

Noah was sitting on one of the window seats, staring out the window at the snow. On the first floor, a young student was dancing, and her footsteps echoed up to him no matter how lightly she stepped. Every half hour or so, a student or two would come in, glance around, and whisper 'so this is what I’m going to miss.' sadly. Apparently they had never heard of going by yourself.. Served them right, sheep that they were.

On his lap was his black notebook, although he had ignored it from the moment he walked in. The huge windows provided an excellent view of the school grounds, a random tree dotting the landscape here and there, black against white.

The girl downstairs stopped dancing, and only then did Noah even notice the noise that had been coming from the first floor. He flicked his gaze over to the large staircase, but she wasn't walking up, and he assumed she had simply left. He shrugged, turning back to the window and promptly forgetting her.

Miranda couldn't help but laugh lightly. What was she doing? Dancing? Oh no no no, that couldn't be. She was far too shy to do such a thing as that. Yet there she was, on the ballroom's dance floor, trying for the life of her to keep moving to the music... yet failing poorly. Well, she never was a swell dancer. But at least she was having fun, for once.

A small sigh escaped through her lips as she slowly carried herself off the dance floor. It was a sigh that clearly stated she was finished dancing, least for tonight. Maybe I should pick up lessons. Mir mused to herself, allowing another small laugh to echo from her as she sauntered out of the ballroom.

"Where to?" The dark haired girl said, to no one in particular... seeing as to she wasn't there with anyone. But Miranda was used to that by now, she always went here and there by herself. No big deal. "I never got to see the second floor..." The female whispered, cocking her head sideways to glance towards the staircase that led up. "But, I should probably stray outside."

And that's exactly where she went.

It was, literally, freezing cold outside. Not that Mir noticed. She was, after all, dead. Well in a way, yes, she was. The grey skin that covered her was a sure sign too. But Miranda tried her best to cover that grey tone with clothing. Like her cloak. Which she had currently wrapped around her petite body, but she didn't have her hood drawn over her head. The girl sort of liked to have little snowflakes land in various places in her hair, she figured it gave the boring black color a sort of spark... so to speak.

"Hmm, well I'm here. Now what?" The Nox girl mumbled lazily, plopping herself down onto the snow-covered ground. After a minute or so, Mir's purple colored eyes began to wander. Simply looking around at random things... until they finally landed upon the large windows of the ballroom. And large was exactly the word for it. They. Were. Big.

But the size of the windows didn't seem to interest Miranda so much as the person sitting in them did. "What's he doing?" The girl mumbled questionably, tilting her head in a curious manner as she shook her dark bangs out of her eyes in order to see a bit more clearly. It didn't seem as if the male was doing much. He was probably just as bored as Miranda was, if not more. Why not have a spot of fun?

Scooping a rather large hand full of snow up from the ground, the dark haired girl quickly began to pack it into a tight snowball. It was just some fun, surely the boy in the window wouldn't take offense. The worst that could happen would be him having a heartattack... which was highly unlikely. Well, Miranda only hoped it was.

Standing to her feet, the grey skinned girl allowed a small smile to slither across her lips, as she hesitantly threw the snowball in the direction of the window Noah was seated at.

(( :ph43r: Erm- I kinda got carried away. *winces* ))

The snowball arched beautifully, almost hovering in the air for a split second before hitting the window a few inches away from Noah with a heart shattering THUNK. Noah jumped, half falling off the window seat before he realized what it was. He tilted his head to see past the snowball, raising his eyebrows at the pale-skinned girl staring up at him.

Noah half smiled, slowly closing his notebook and picking up his cane. Revenge was called for. He stood up, limping a bit more dramatically then usual out to the balcony and glancing down at her from the nearly railess edge. "What kind of person, i ask, would throw a snowball at a cripple?" He scooped a large handful of snow up from the railing, leaning on one foot to pack it into a snowball. "What's wrong with this world, i ask?" He picked up his cane again, tossing the snowball in the air a few times before letting it drop towards the girl below.
