"Loved? Love is funny isn’t it? I thought my parents loved me too. But that was a bust. Love doesn’t last forever. I figured out that the hard way." Kacey said looking back at the lake. "Like the lake. It will dry up and there will be nothing left."

Ian looked at her, "What the hell are you talkign about?" he asked getting very frustrated with her sudden negative outlook on everything. Ian reached into hsi pocket hopign he hadn't taken it out the night before and pulled the diamond out of his pocket and held it in the palm of his hand to see fi it would have an affect whatsoever.

Even though her back was turned she knew what he took out. She didn't need to turn over to know that. "Empathy sucks as a power. Never turns off. Don't know how to anyway." She said her whole attention to the lake.

Ian sat silently, he still didn't uderstand all the way, he understood that she disliked her power, btu he didn;t understand the sudden mood swing and loss of interest in things she once liked.

"Your wondering why I’m acting like this. Aren’t you? Yes I think you are." Kacey said, and added "Yes now I’m using my powers on you. They kind of tell me things. Lots of things. Boring things too."

ian grabbed his head in confusion, "What? First your all gloomy, tell me how much you hate the lake, then somethin else, and now your using powers on me? What kind of things are they telling you?" he asked.

Kacey shrugged turning to look at him. "I dunno. That your confused and worried. You shouldn't be though. There isn't anything to be confused or worried about. But I think I should go now. Maybe if I'm lucky my nightmares won't come today."

Ian shrugged, "Okay." he said still really confused. "Hopefully you wont get more nightmares." said Ian standing up.

"But I think I know why now." Kacey said walking away from the lake, then turning around again. "Wait before I go I want to ask you something, have you ever met someone that you always wanted to be with. Even when there mean at you, you still want to spend time with them? Just because need to be around."
