Watching the sky

Kacey was laying in the sand, the sky was gray. It looked as if it was going to rain, but that didn't bother her very much. Today was a boring day and she was also in a sad mood. She didn't know why she was, she just felt sad. Like she had done something wrong but didn’t know what.

Ian was walkign down the beach. he figured since the sky was so gloomy today, no one would be on the beach. He had been a few places before, just tryign to figure out everythign that had gone on lately, but everytime, he had been interupted by someone. This time, he figured he would be alone. He noticed a person on the beach and at first, planned to walk right by them without acknowledgement, but when he saw hwo it was, he couldn;t just walk by.

Ian walke dup behind Kacey and sat down next to her, "Hey." he said in a really depressed voice that seemed to have no expression whatsoever in it.

Kacey yawned and sighed. Her eyes still looking at the sky. When she heard the voice and she sat up, "Oh hey." She said back looking at Ian. She wasn’t really in the mood to be peppy and happy. But by Ian’s own voice she could tell that he wasn’t in such a happy mood either. "Something wrong?" She asked.

"No." he said in a very dull voice as he proped his elbows up on his knees and rested his head on his arms.

"Ok fine." Kacey said dropping the matter, she could tell there was something but if he didn’t want to tell her that was fine too. She laid back down on the sand and closed her eyes for a moment. Nothing seemed to be going right that day.

Ian looked at Kacey's expression, "You can tell something is up can't you?" he said, "Using your power, you can see right through my lie can't you?" he asked.

Kacey shook her head, "Yeah i can but Ian I don't have to use my power on you to know that." She said opening her eyes and looking up at him. "I can just tell...." She said.

Ian looked at the floor, Geez, read me like a book, he thought, was my expression that obvious? Ian looked at her, "Oh.." he said. He wasn;t sure how to wrod how he felt because he knew he coulnd't not tell her, but it was weird trying to tell her this, "Yeah, I guess your right, there is something." Ian thought for a moment, "and I can't seem to place an emotion on exaclty how I feel right now so I can't really word this right." said Ian, "but, I don't know, I guess I'm a little bit jealous of Mikah." he said as he looked out onto the ocean. "Yeah i mean, I know as your friend I should be supportive and all, but I can't say I'm all happy about it." he said.

His words hurt Kacey, to know she was hurting someone like that without realizing it made her feel worse than before. Kacey sat back up, she didn’t know what to say. She liked Ian and she liked Mikah. Why did everything have to be so complicated. "I’m sorry you feel that way." Kacey said, unsure if they still could be friends if it made him jealous.

Ian noticed after saying his words back to himself in his mind that that wasn't the way he wanted to say that and he felt the way he sadi it made him seem really childish. "Listen," said Ian, "I'm happy for you and Mikah, and I don;t want you to worry about if I like you too." Ian smiled a litte "because we are still really good friends which is better than nothing." he said, "Thats why i didn't want to tell you, because I figured you might start to worry about it or something."
