Ambrose watched as the girl circled him, gently pulling on his wing. After she was done, she stood at rest in front of him, arms folded, with all the air of a little critic. It was pretty amusing, actually. This young girl was critiquing him on his own form.

Then she said he looked like a giant bird. Well, that was unexpected. Still, he didn't exactly believe her. He didn't see how he could look anything like a giant bird. Still, she was just a little girl. She had yet to prove she had thought capabilities beyond her age. That could be what it was. Still, Ambrose would cock his head slightly to the side, and give Annaleise a droll stare.

"Really? Would a giant bird have red and black swirly skin and be able to control fire?" Ambrose would say, emphasizing the kast point by encasing his right arm in fire, keeping it there for a brief moment before letting it extinguish.

"And I don't eat seeds. But you know what I do eat..." Ambrose would add, an evil grin coming across his face. "lying little girls" he would finish. He didn't mean it, and it would show somewhat, but he was just starting to have fun...

"Yes." Answering the boy immediately, Annaleise didn't stop to question her own logic. All she knew is that she was automatically right, and that the boy was most definitely some kind of large bird. She was sure that somewhere out there, a bird of some type was able to control fire. If dragons and crazy people existed on this tiny island, surely firebirds would exist somewhere else.

Unfazed by Ambrose's threat, Annaleise fixed the boy with a severe, disapproving stare. "I think you're just a big dumb bird. If you try to eat me I'll pull on your wings and you'll cry. Then you wont be so mean to me anymore." Besides that, she didn't think students were allowed to eat other students. Of course, that didn't apply to her when she was going to get big enough to turn into a monster size dragon, but it definitely applied to everyone else when they threatened to eat her. Only she was allowed to eat people. "Maybe you're just hungry, you should go eat seeds and stop being cranky. Angry-pants."

Annaleise answered with a yes, something that led Ambrose to believe even further that she was just using young logic, because young logic always dictated that you were right no matter what at all times. He remembered thinking like that. Of course, he'd had it beaten out of him, but Annaleise didn't deserve that. Far from it, no one did.

After that, she blew right past his threat, and again insisted that he was a bird. After she had finished talking, Ambrose would change back to his human form.

"I'm not a bird, okay? Promise. I'm one-hundred percent sure i'm a demon. If I was a bird, i'm pretty sure I wouldn't have had priests and other holy people crawling to come kill me back home. And I was just joking. I wouldn't eat you. You're too funny, and i'd never actually eat a person unless they were a bad person. And you don't seem bad at all. Just a little...young-minded. Ambrose would say, returning to his place where he was sitting down before.

Still staring up at the boy in disbelief, Annaleise turned her head this way and that, inspecting the creature in front of her from all angles. Well, he could have been an angry bird. She had seen lots of people swarming to kill birds because they were so angry and attacked all the time. She didn't say this out loud, though, figuring that her point had already been made.

He sounded like Murtagh, though, in that he only ate the bad people. On that logic, her opinion of him shot right back up to where it had been. No longer was he a bird, now he was some kind of direwolf spawn. Obviously, Murtagh had influenced this creature in some way, because those were his principles too! "I'm not funny, you're the one thats funny." Huffing quietly over the funny comment, Anna frowned faintly before following suit and plopping down on the grass. "So... You really don't eat seeds?" She found herself more disappointed in this fact over than anything else that had happened over the course of the conversation.

Ambrose let out a small chuckle at the girl's puny little argument and input. She just didn't want to be made fun of. It was either that, or she didn't like being the center of attention. But considering the way she acted, she enjoyed attention, so...she probably just didn't like being made fun of. Hence why she could be so...apprehensive at times. She was certainly confident, however.

"You're right, I am funny. But if you're not funny, you know what that means. We need to find a word for you, then. Something that describes you." Ambrose would say, a sly grin growing. Annaleise then moved topics, seemingly dissapointed in the fact that he didn't eat seeds. Was it really that big of a deal to her?

"Well, I do eat some seeds. But only the kind that normal people would eat. You know, sunflower seeds and the like. I really enjoy pumpkin seeds, too. But bird seed, no. I don't eat that kinda stuff." He would add.
