Waiting in a coffee shop

"Pleasure." Arvin responded to Devias' salutation.
"Thanks for the info, I guess Ruby and I will have to find our dorm soon, but what I meant was houses for competitions amongst students. House groups or whatever they call them these days." Arvin was slightly annoyed that his question wasn't understood, but he blamed himself for not wording it properly. He expected there to be competitions between the students. All schools do it after all.

Being new to the school, Arvin still needed a bit of help. "We'll need some guidance to our dorms later on or at least a map. Whatever is most convenient."

The young boy accepted the offered hand and gave a firm hand shake. "Master wizard? No. I am capable of wielding magic, but in no way can I call myself a master," Devias replied to Ruby. "My glasses aren't special either." He adjusted the item a bit to resettle on the bridge of his nose.

While he acknowledged Luna's greeting, he couldn't help but notice that she seemed a little distraught. However, he decided to let this slip past by acknowledging Arvin's response. Devias wasn't the best when it came to carrying on with conversation, but Lorencia was there to speak with everyone, usually on both of their behalf.

"Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Devias and I can show you around later! We've practically walked down all the corridors already, and all the important places! Right, Dev?"

"Mostly. Concerning the houses--"

"I don't believe there's houses like what you described," Lorencia cut in, unaware that her cousin had already started to speak about it. "I suppose the closest thing are the clubs! Devias and I are part of a study club. You two should join too! There's still a few of us, but meeting new friends from all grades is so much easier with a club!"

Shaking his hand, Ruby still wasn't fully convinced Devias wasn't a master wizard. But she reasoned that just like Luna's super hero thing the people around here couldn't go blowing their secret identities so she'd let it slide this time.

Hearing Lorencia's offer to show the twins around, Ruby was bouncing! "Ooh that'd be fun! It'd also probably be more productive than my plan of running around everywhere!" She leaned in closer to Lorencia and Devias. "We can also search around for secret passageways and moving bookcases!"

Taking a step back she begins overhearing the talk about houses from her brother and the others, Ruby absorbs this info and begins processing it. "Ohh so there's no houses with animals like badgers or snakes," this was a little disheartening, but at the same time Ruby was glad seeing as how she didn't enjoy competition, "joining a club though sounds great!! We should join as many as we can!!" To this she was jumping and shaking Arvin by the shoulders.

Turning back to Luna, oblivious to a lot of things she doesn't realize how the girl has become a little more withdrawn. "Lunaaaa you should come with us!! You're totally a guardian angel with the wings and stuff!!"

Happy to see his twin sister so excited, Arvin simply said, "Yes, we shall join as many clubs as we can. The study club sounds nice though." Arvin however, was uncomfortable at the thought of it. He disliked being in large groups, but if the study club had few people, he'd feel content. He also felt that it would be a good opportunity for him and Ruby to learn more magic.

"Oh and no house groups. Oh well." Arvin found it unusual for a school not to have house groups, but decided to let it go. "So, shall we explore the school?" He said in a mundane voice.

Lorencia nodded strongly. "Yes! We'll get to discover every secret this academy has!" She jumped up, pumping herself up. And then subsequently going into a thinking stance with her thumb and index finger pinching at her chin while the arm rested on the other across her chest. "But where do we start..."

"..." It looked as if Devias wanted to say something against it, but he refrained, knowing fully well that his cousin wasn't one to back down on something that obviously excited her so much.

While Lorencia and Ruby were discussing their plans, Devias turned to Luna, who said she couldn't go with them because she was waiting for someone. "That is understandable."

"Wait, wouldn't it be rude if we just left Lune here by herself? I know! You can stay here until her friend comes, Dev!"

Devias passively nodded. "I can keep her company if that is all right with her. I don't need to be anywhere for the rest of the day." Staying or leaving with the other three, it didn't matter much to him which one ended up happening since he was fine with either option.

Hearing Luna can't come along with them initially Ruby is downtrodden, but at the prospect of her accompanying them tomorrow she's immediately excited and bouncing again! "Yeah you can come explore with us tomorrow!! And bring your friend if you can!!"

Hearing Arvin is on board for joining clubs and exploring the school Ruby just gets even more pumped! "Heck yeah let's do it bro bro!! We got this!!"

Lorencia's willingness to go along and show them around is making Ruby super happy and ready to go especially with someone who knows their way around the place! "Yush we'll explore everything!! And Devias if you hang with Luna you should come explore with us later or tomorrow!!"

"Yes, we do." Arvin responded to Ruby's excitement with a smile. He was determined to learn all he can about the school and wield as much knowledge as possible and he felt joining clubs is one of the best ways to do it. He also needed to know the school grounds. Classes are important and knowing where they are is essential.

"When does the semester start by the way? And when do we get our timetables and booklist? I don't remember receiving any of that information." Arvin asked with concern. Knowing the way around the school grounds is pointless when you don't have any classes or books. His messenger bag is empty and he wants to fill it up with books and stationery as soon as possible. The only reason for coming to this school was to study as much as he possibly can.
