"I get that. I just figured I dunno maybe it's better if we freak out together over nothing," he could tell she felt bad for it, and he really wasn't trying to guilt her or anything. Shir just wanted her to know he had her back.

"You're my girlfriend, and I love you," he moved in to give her a hug.

Sometimes Maddie felt like Shir was too good for her. This was one of those times. She leaned against him, wrapped in his arms. Not saying anything for a little while. Just basking in the feeling of being cared about.

"I love you too, Shir."

Another pause.

"I'll go see the nurse tomorrow."
