Considering it was her first time ever being actually sick, Fatima was actually finding it ridiculously entertaining. Other than the cough, which was more annoying than painful, and the headache, which was fairly mild, she felt like she'd had a heck of a lot of coffee. In fact, if the girl hadn't looked up the virus after hearing about it in class, she would've thought she had accidentally taken drugged coffee somewhere. Then again, she was pretty sure no drug had ever given her a cough before. But this was fun. She hoped there wasn't going to be a crash after all this energy. She realised she probably shouldn't be running around downtown, but there was no way she was going to stay cooped up in her room when she was this hyper. Besides, she kept getting distracted.

So she had shoved a bunch of napkins in her bag along with her usual chocolate milk and candy and headed downtown to run around a bit. Actually, she had intended to buy some cough drops, though she wasn't sure they would work with this virus. She had lost track once she had actually gotten downtown, and was just poking her head in interesting looking stores and looking for people to have fun with. Hopefully, she could find someone who was either immune or had also already gotten sick. Maybe she'd even find someone else who had the crazy energy-inducing strain she had. Her mind was too frazzled to remember which strains caused what, but she knew there had been more than one that seemed to have almost the same effect.

A store sign caught Fatima's eye just as she went into a small coughing fit, and she remembered that she had wanted to get something for her throat. When she opened the door to go in, she caught a glimpse of a familiar-looking person out of the corner of her eye. As she turned to look, she stopped paying attention to where she was going and ran right into another person who was just about to leave the store. This knocked the breath out of her and sent her into another coughing fit before she could apologise.
