Appearance Description: Dandy is a man of average height with hair that reaches down to his neck. In terms of notable features, he sports a pair of large green eyes with green markings below them that resemble tear streaks. He’s also very pale, with retractable claws and fangs. This makes it quite obvious he’s a vampire. Of course at work, Dandy can be seen in his rather stylish work uniform. When off the clock he leans towards a much more casual look.
In his vampiric form Dandy’s eyes turn yellow and his sclera turn green. His eyes will also shift if his emotions are heightened. He grows wings, horns, and a long prehensile tail. This body is built to be much more predatory in nature. His claws and fangs are no longer retractable. He’s also covered in fur on various points of his body.
Personality Description: Outside of work Dandy is friendly, but often distant and keeps to himself. This is an old habit of his from back when he was being actively hunted. He has a knack for getting out of nasty situations relatively unscathed. Thanks to his powers it’s rather difficult to notice him. He opts to paint in public places in order to draw people in to him. While working, Dandy is perpetually moving, performing trick shots, and chatting up his patrons.
Active Abilities:
Unnoticeable: Instead of full on invisibility, Dandy is simply hard to notice. When he’s in view he just looks like another face in the crowd. People see him and pass him by without a second thought. If he’s out of someone’s direct line of sight he cannot be heard unless he speaks to them. In most cases, Dandy is the one who has to introduce himself in order for people to acknowledge him. Similarly the only way for people to fully notice him is if they are at least personally acquainted with him or he’s doing something to actively stand out from the crowd. People who can detect unseen beings such as ghosts can easily pick up on him as if he’s anyone else milling about.
Vincent can completely fall off a single person’s radar for up to a minute. During this time the target completely forgets he even existed. Vincent does not vanish for other people around him, in fact it becomes glaringly obvious that he is present. The person effected will still insist on there being nothing there.
Shifting: Vincent can shift between a human and more demonic form which sports bat like wings, horns, claws, and a long prehensile tail.
Sunlight charm: Vincent owns a sunlight charm bracelet that staves off the most harmful effects of the sun from him, leaving him feeling only mild discomfort when travelling in it.
Passive Abilities:
Physique: Vincent can lift half a ton, run at speeds up to 70 mph, and possesses reflexes sharp enough to dodge a bullet. His tail is also strong enough to lift a grown man. The claws he sports are capable of rending steel.
Senses: Dandy's senses are heightened to a point where he can lock onto a beating heart within 50 yards. He’s capable of nocturnal vision, and has a sense of smell on par with the average canine.
Healing: He’s capable of healing from minor injuries within a few seconds. Major injuries take much more time and a steady supply of blood. For example, he can grow a lost limb back over the course of a few weeks. His diet would have to be completely blood for the duration of the recovery period.
Weaknesses: The sun doesn’t burn him, it simply drains his energy and effectively starves him. Exposure for an entire day renders him in the same state as if he hadn't been drinking blood for several weeks. In short he shrivels up and remains in an emaciated state until he dies unless he gets blood.
The presence of holy items doesn’t cause him physical pain, they do however cause him great anxiety. Chanting, prayers, singing Hyms, and the like can trigger a similar psychological reaction but will weaken him physically as well. He is also unable to step onto holy ground. Contact with holy water and silver does cause him pain. Silver and blessed objects burn his flesh and prevent him from healing. Introduction of either into the bloodstream is fatal.
Resources: Vincent is an aspiring artist, and works as a bartender at one of the local blood bars. He lives alone in a fairly modest apartment.
Biography: Born Clarence Miller, Vincent was a child to a somewhat prominent family who ran a small textile business. As a result he was taught the family trade, but his real passion was art. He was eventually thrown out, leaving him to travel and look into improving his artistic talent. He was eventually taken in by a man who shared a similar passion for art. But, as these stories go he wasn’t as he seemed. His teacher turned out to be a very old vampire who had been looking for someone that could potentially be his heir. Of course, there was a suspicious string of murders. People would disappear and their bodies would turn up days later mutilated and drained of blood.
In his first “test” Vincent discovered that it was in fact his teacher who in turn forcibly turned Vincent, then outed him as the vampire. The young man narrowly escaped, but passed the “test” by surviving. The next three decades were spent in an odd cycle of assistance and lessons in vampirism followed by some form of life or death game of tag arranged by his former teacher.
It was during one of these hunts that he managed to form a contract with a demon and had the ability to move about unnoticed bestowed upon him. This allowed Vincent who at this point went by Dandy to turn the tables on his teacher. Impressed the older vampire offered him a prominent position within his coven. Dandy turned it down in exchange for a sunlight talisman and information on somewhere he can live in peace. He had no interest in any extravagant life within a vampire coven. He moved to Manta Carlos and started fresh once more.
