"Dinner next weekend at Celeste's?" Zoraida asked her grandfather as she accompanied him out of the new Woodland Imports offices.

"Yes, perhaps. First, I need to check my schedule," Rafael said evenly as he pulled on the cuff of the sleeve of the dark grey suit he was wearing, and then checked his silver monogrammed cufflinks.

"By the way, Takisu has gone back to Ilada," he informed his granddaughter curtly.

"This ... " he said, referring to the still falling snow outside the glass door, "Has affected all the oricenta," he added in a tone that was unimpressed. "Never, in almost 400 years, has that ever happened before," he told Zoraida pointedly. "It's unprecedented, and quite frankly, worrisome."

"I am sure that Takisu and his family will be alright," Zora said as she tried to appease Rafael.

"Takisu should be here with me. I rely on him, Zoraida," Rafael remarked gruffly, not wanting to admit that he was worried about his assistant.

"He will be back soon, be patient. And if you really need an assistant I can send you Sterling," she offered.

Rafael then looked at Zoraida like he was going to accept, and then shook his head. "Thank you, but no. Sterling would only mess everything up. " he stated as he put on his winter coat.

"I'll talk to you tomorrow. Let you know what I decided regarding dinner," he said as he kissed Zora on the cheek and said good bye as he left the building.

After a block of walking in the snow, Rafael decided to stop at a quiet coffee shop where he ordered an espresso, a croissant and sat down to read the newspaper.

“Come on push. We’ve got quite a distance ahead of us so we need to get this done. We don’t know when we’ll get an opportunity like this again.” Gyres shouted commands as him and a group of his Ashen marched through the snow. Gyres had six of his Ashen with him, all of them helping to carry some strange device hidden under a tarp. Normally Gyres wouldn’t be this ballsy but the immense snowfall had kept a lot of people inside so not many people would actually notice his group. Gyres unconciously adjusted his helmet which kept his face hidden from the public. The damn thing always felt off center although in reality it never was. As the Ashen kept marching Gyres looked around the nearby buildings checking for people. It didn’t matter very much if people did notice them right now as they likely wouldn’t do much but it was still important to take note of one’s surroundings.

While taking a sip of his coffee, Rafael put down his newspaper and looked outside, staring for a moment at the ever-falling snow. His table was next to one of the large windows that looked out onto the not-so street. The snow was keeping a lot of people inside these days.

Out of the corner of his eye, Rafael noticed a weird movement, turning his head slightly to see what it was, he noticed a small-ish group of people trudging through the snow purposefully. Curious now, he turned fully in his seat and watched them for a while.

As Gyres looked around he immediately took notice on an older man who had been watching him and his men. Shit how long had he been watching? A few of the men carrying the covered item groaned and softly lowered the mysterious item to rest on the snow. “Hey B-Boss can we take a little break? We’ve been carrying this thing for miles.” Gyres shook his head a little and drew his sword, pointing it to the men. “Well I see no reason not to seeing as you already set the item down. But if you let thing things touch the ground one more time without my say-so....someone’s fingers are coming off. Clear?” The men, obviously a little frightened shook their heads. Gyres smiles and sheathed his sword. “Alright then. You have fine minutes, make them count.”

Putting his coffee down now, Rafael had to admit he was becoming increasingly curious about the group. He couldn't hear the men from within the coffee shop where he was sitting, but he understood enough from the body language and gestures of the one man to know that he was the leader, and he was not overly pleased with his men.

Glancing around the almost empty coffee shop, he wondered if anyone else had noticed the curious exchange unfolding outside.

Gyres didn’t have a watch on him but he counted every single second in his head. “Alright boys time to get this thing moving again. No more breaks.” A lot of the men grumbled at the last statement by Gyres, causing him to grab his hilt. “I’m sorry was that complaining? Do I need to chop off some tounge as well as fingers?” The Ashen with Gyres suddenly quieted after his threat and once again began to haul the covered item through the snow. Gyres watched them for a moment before turning back to the coffee shop. He stared directly at the man watching the him. He didn’t have a good feeling about them, not a good feeling at all. Gyres turned back to his men and trudged in their direction to make sure they weren’t slacking off again.

Watching the group as they picked up the strange and covered item again, and start off through the snowy streets, made Rafael curious enough to want to follow them, and see what they were going to do.

Throwing enough money on the table for a very generous tip, Rafael put back on his coat and warm leather gloves and quickly exited the coffee shop just as the group took off down the street.

The group and Gyres weren’t very far from where the coffee shop so it would have been quite easy for someone to catch up to them. The item being carried was quite clunky and large in nature so it slowed the group quite a lot. Gyres was determined however, not wanting to stop until they made it back to base again. “Come on! Lift with your backs! I know you misfits can do better than this.!”

"Excuse me," Rafael called out as he followed the group, finally catching up sheerly because of the amount of snow and because the small group carried a heavy object that slowed their advance down considerably.

"May I ask what you intend to do with that there?" he asked evenly, gesturing with a gloved hand toward the object in question.

The Ashen carrying the item stopped suddenly when they heard the voice. Gyres growled a little at it, he already knew it was the guy at the coffee shop. Gyres took a deep breath and turned around to face the man, his helmet still covering his face. “Oh good sir I’m very sorry if we disturbed you but this is personal matters if you don’t mind. Not very polite to go nosing around in someone’s buisness hm? Why don’t you go back to coffee shop and have another warm cup. It will get you out of the snow. If you want I can even pay for it~.” Gyres’s voice was softer that one would imagine. He was doing his best to be polite in getting this guy to leave the area.
