Nathan was panicking, semi quietly, Amber was coming over to check on him. The so called medical emergency had been unpleasant and had resulted in some changes. He'd paced his dorm several times, waiting for Amber, who'd insisted on coming over.

He'd jump a bit when he heard the knock, turning his wing would painfully hit his desk with a loud thud. He'd curse, doing his best to fold his wings up, as well as pulling a benie hat down over his now pointed ears.

Stepping to the door, he'd take a breath before slowly opening but just crack. Just enough to show his face. "Uh, hey hon," he'd say, clearing his throat, "uh.....what's up?" @Pallas

When Amber learned that Nathan had a spontaneous "medical issue", she was insistent that she come over and visit him! Amber didn't really know what exactly was going on with Nathan as he was too hesitant to give any details and she got the sense that he didn't want her to come. But... if she didn't come over to check on him herself she would have spend the night awake worrying over him and texting him every 15 minutes or something. So she just had to come over and... see for herself.

As she arrived to the door, she banged on the door a few times and waited anxiously for Nathan to let her in. As it creaked open Amber didn't hesitate to force her way inside.

"Nathan! Are you okay babe?! When you texted me I was really worried and I-" just after barging in she just stop to gawk at him. This was the same dormroom right? No it had to be, she has been her dozens of times.

"Nathan is that... what happened? Are... are those... wings?!" asked Amber whom is just... dumbfounded at what she was looking at. Despite all of the changes... she could still see enough of Nathan recognize her boyfriend.

"I.....uh....," he was regretting not telling her, he should have prepared her for this. "Uh...y-yeah," he'd say clear his voice, his left wing twitching a little before both of them sorta tried to fold behind him. "They...sorta popped up last night....with other changes."

She'd be able to see how his eyes have changed, though his ears were still covered with the hat. "It...uh....well it hurt like hell, so they took me to the nurses and called in a vampire specialist."

Nathan would move his feet nervously. "But, uh, I'm ok," he'd say, trying to force a nervous smile, "just, y'know, it's different."

Amber cocks an eyebrow, then moves in closer to look him over again. She could hardly believe how much he just... grown over one night. It was almost like she hadn't seen him in few years or something.

"Different... yeah... you can say that." as she approaches she lifts one of his arms and tests the firmness with by squeezing his bicep with her hand.

"Have you always been this... muscular? Ah and the wings!" she then scuttles behind and tries to extend the wings out a bit "Do these work? Like... fly around and all?"

He'd blush. "Not really, the doctors say it's my body further adjusting to me being a vampire, I've always had a slim build before," vampires were predators, needed to be fast and strong. "Oh, yeah, them," the wings would twitch at her touch, he'd make them unfold.

"Yeah, they do, I'm gonna be taking flying classes," he'd clear his throat. "They kinda....lifted me up when I first got them....and..up and into my cieling." He'd blush more at admitting them.

Nathan would look back at her. "Flying in human different is apparently a lot different than in my bat form," he'd scratch at his head, just below the hat.

Amber chuckled and naturally had to look up at the ceiling upon to see if she could find Nathan's size dent. Sadly should couldn't really find anything. Bemused, she circles back in front of Nathan.

"Well you had me worried... I thought something bad happened to you but now that I am here... I guess there is nothing for me to really worry about..." sighed Amber with relief, she then takes one of arms and starts squeezing his bicep again. "I guess all the change's aren't so bad..."

She then looks back to his face, giving him a smile when she noticed his eyes.

"Whoa what happened to your eyes! Are they still okay?" standing on her tips of her claws she claps her hands onto his cheeks and looks directly into his eyes. She then uses her fingers to force Nathan's eyes wide so she can get a better look at them.

"Can you see just as fine? Any sort of astigmatism, cataracts, or amblyopia?!" blurted out Amber as she suddenly goes all ophthalmologist on him.

He'd let her open his eyes wide so she could have a look. "You have a thing for eye medical stuff?" he'd ask with a snort and a chuckle. "And I'm fine, they said it's my eyes making final adjustments for my night vision."

His hand would go up, taking one of hers and giving it a gentle squeeze. "So, yeah, eyes and wings and uh......," well she'd already seen everything else so might as well show them too.

With a blush he'd pull his hat off, revealing his now pointed ears. "Yes.....," he'd sigh, "I know they look goofy."

"I... may have read a book about it." sheepishly admitted Amber whom then relaxes once reassured about the conditions about his eyes.

She wasn't sure what to think of black sclera as it make him look a little more... sinister but sure was she that she would get used to it. After all, she knew there was nothing sinister about Nathan she knows.

Amber then waits for Nathan to take off his beanie, and then gasps as she sees what was underneath.

"Oh my gosh... what happened to your hair!?" exclaimed Amber as her fingers dig into his hair and starts ruffling it "Gah no! I like it when it was spiky mop!"

He'd blink a few times. "Oh yeah, was gonna tell you I got a haircut but I'd forgotten about it with everything else going on," now he had a quasi mohawk style. "Well.....its still spikey on top," he'd say with a snort.

"That said....I was more talking about my ears," he'd say, tapping his finger on one the point of his right ear. "Didn't really do anything, my hearing is the same, so it's like the only change that is...kinda pointless." He also thought it was embarrassing.

The vampire looked to her. "Why did you notice my hair before my ears?" he'd ask with a small chuckle.

"Oh... the ears... well I was distracted with the hair because... well... I like like having my fingers get tangled in your hair... and now that sort of ruined." explained Amber whom then puffed her cheeks and pouted "Well next time let me know when you are getting a hair cut so that I could... mentally prepare. But your ears..."

Amber's hands then move from his scalp and massage the tip of his ears, putting on a thoughtful expression as she rubs them.

"Pointy, a bit like an elf... or fairy... I kinda like them. " commented Amber whom found herself still rubbing the outer ridges of both of his ears between her fingers.
