From the look of things, they had gotten along pretty well. In all honesty, she was a bit concerned that her father would act like her friend's father who would interrogate her new boyfriend while they were alone. He was pretty intense too, the boys often melting before him. Her friend complained about it every time it happened, and Val was glad and thankful that Tucker wasn't like that.

"Of course I don't!" she replied, a wide grin on her face. "Consider me surprised! So, did you like the gift I gave you?" She was blushing a little as she saw the bracelet on his wrist, but acted as if she hadn't seen it.

Tucker had to stop himself from breaking into a laughing fit when Alex had explained he'd mistaken Valerie to be younger. Honestly, he'd thought the same the first time. Mature as she looked, she had a rather childish demeanor to her. Tucker decided to settle with another short-lived chuckle instead. He didn't pursue the topic any further since the harpy in question had already arrived. That isn't to say he liked gossiping but he had the feeling Valerie was probably more excited about this whole thing and just about ready to get up and go.

He didn't wait for them to finish their exchange before he excused himself. "Well, then. I suppose I can leave you both now. It was nice meeting you, young man," he nodded at Alex. "Make sure she gets home safe when the day's over," he added.

He didn't elaborate any further, walking to his daughter and lightly ruffling her hair, "Stay out of trouble, alright, Val?" he told her, just waiting for her confirmation before he turned away and headed for the upper floor.

"It was good to meet you sir," he said as Tucker left, in truth that went far better that he expected.

He smiled at Val, "I love it," he said raising his hand to show it. "Thank you," leaning forward he gently kissed her, at the same time slipping something around her neck, "happy Valentines Day."

He smiled brightly, "if you're up for it, I was going to take you on a picnic," it was a simple idea, but he thought they'd enjoy it. Alex had dated before, but something was different with Val, "I have a nice spot picked out for us."

Feeling her hair being messed up, she chuckled and turned her attention to her father, giving him a wide grin. "I'll be good, dad!" she said as she watched him disappear up the stairs.

Her gaze back to Alex and was met with a soft kiss. He fiddled with something behind her back, and when he gave her a little space, she saw a necklace around her neck. The pendant was a wing with a gem. It was beautiful. There was no stopping the grin that appeared on her face, and in the middle of his proposal to take her on a picnic she thrust herself forward and hugged him tightly, a few giggles escaping her.

"Okay! I'd love to go on a picnic!"
