Private Finished Valentine Gifts

Michi groaned at the feeling of the cold at the tip of her nose before wiping it off herself. A little smirk appeared on her face before she scooped up a bit from the tub and trailed it along Rowan's nose without saying anything. "Hm. Yeah, I guess 'Chewy's kinda growing on me," she giggled before taking a bte of the ice cream. "You don't have to buy me a new one if we go there if that's what you're implying, but I'ld love to go there sometime," she said, lightly scraping the top of the ice cream. "I think it'll be nice to just... hang out and explore places around the island, wouldn't it?"

Michi hid her flustered smile at his words, pressing her lips as she wiped the new smear of cream on her cheek. Rowan always said nice things about her and she still hasn't gotten used to it. She feels embarrassed to even bring it up anyway, so she didn't want to mention it just the same. It wasn't that she was uncomfortable or anything but part of her feels like she'd upset him by telling him otherwise. Thinking no more of it, she took another bite of the ice cream, but not before lightly whapping Rowan on the nose before she took another scoop. "By the sound of that, it sounds like you need me to go with you to keep you from spending for me," she said, almost jokingly. As Rowan brought up the island being their home, Michi fell quiet a bit. Home. This place was now their new home; and by the looks of things now, they won't be returning to their old little farmtown. When everything was still normal. Before they all were separated from their family. Then again, Michi did still have family out there... she just didn't want them to see her the way she is now. Michi wasn't able to return his smile. "Hey, Rowan. Do you like it here?"

Michi wanted to hear a better answer than that, but she supposes it would be asking for a lot. Lots of stuff in the island seemed interesting, and a lot of stuff seemed normal at the same time. Sure, she felt equally comforted by her friends' presence but perhaps the culture shock was overpowering her more, but she decided to keep that to herself, knowing well how she was bad at coping with changes. She settled into the hug and kept her those particular thoughts to herself. "I guess you're right," she said quietly, "I guess this island just feels really intimidating when I think about it." She took another bite off the ice cream, quieting down again to savor the flavor before she spoke again. "Hey, Rowan? Thanks for being here."

One step at a time. Just like mom said, she thought quietly. Michi wished it was easier and didn't have to have all these extra baggage to go with the whole move. It was tiring at the end of the day and she always found it hard to reach out just because she didn't even always know where to start figuring things out. Michi simply quietly nodded at Rowan's words, continuing to eat off the tub as he did until he inevitably interrupted her by stealing the bite from her. She groaned, though the playfulness was evident with her smile as she swatted the back of the spoon on his nose. She sighed, feeling a bit silly about brooding. "You always know how to cheer me up, Rowan," she said, settling into their hug and whispering another thanks. Everything should turn out fine. As long as she had her friends with her, the next years of her life would eventually settle back to normal as things could get.
