Unplanned Introductions

Elizabeth took the plate. smiling gratefully to Shiariel and going to stand back next to Soren. "Well, we were both with the same group of people at one point and everyone was talking about the valentine's cruise, I didn't even know it was happening at the time. So me and him started a conversation, got to know eachother a bit. Anyway, I left but came running back about a minute later because I'd lost my pen and needed it for my next class." Elizabeth paused, remembering the day and laughed softly. "Then Soren used his powers and found it for me, which i thought was pretty amazing, and then he asked me to go on the cruise with him." She looked to Soren, smiling. "and I'm glad you did."

Once each of them had their pizza Shiariel listened to Elizabeth talk about how they met her son. However when she heard that Soren had asked Elizabeth to the cruise she stopped what she was doing for a heart beat. Her gaze landed on her son as he was eating. Soren should have known how she would feel about him going on the 'Love Cruise'. However Shiariel didn't say anything yet as she just looked at her son with a look that described the LONG conversation they were going to have when they were alone.

At the moment though Shiariel put on a smile and continued eating. Acting as if nothing had changed in all the world. Though she remembered to not tell what happened at the Weekday Cruise... She and her son had a very loud discussion about Barakiel before events unfurled. All for Shiariel to find that she was stuck on the Cruise with Barakiel for the entire week. She had explained it to her son that she would need to basically sleep at the office with how much time they had wanted her to put in. "That is quite the story. I should tell you the story of how I met my husband." The words had come right out of her mouth, and as soon as she realized what she had said she felt her mouth dry up and the stabbing sensation in the heart. "But I'd love to hear what my son and you did on the cruise. I head a lot about it from some colleagues at work."

As soon as Soren's father was mentioned she could tell the two were immediately sad. She noted how Shiariel suddenly stopped, realising what she had said before seemingly forcing herself to continue and she saw Soren's facial expression change too. Her exceptional skill for noticing things (that had come from a mix of her powers and her training with her own father) was sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. In times like these, she never really knew what to say, how to comfort people. It was difficult to be able to see something they thought they weren't showing very much and make the decision on whether to act on it or leave it. She reached under the table and held Soren's hand tightly, letting him know she was there and smiled to Shiariel as if she hadn't noticed their reactions, not wanting to make them more uncomfortable or sad. "Nothing that interesting really; exploring, dinner, some dancing."
