Work the past couple of weeks had been horrid. Needed overtime in all departments, it was almost like crime had spiked on Mante Carlos. But Shiariel had worked through the most of it and though crime does not wait for anybody, even an angel needs some time home with her family.
So though she left work a bit later then usual she had picked up Soren's favorite pizza and soda. Or at least what she remembered as his favorite. She could only hope that it was still something he'd appreciate and not another bad reminder of her year of absence from his life.
But now wasn't the time to feel down. Shiariel was putting the key to their place in the lock. Barakiel had his own so she didn't have to escort him around all the time anymore. When she turned the key and entered the house juggling her purse, a two liter, a large pizza, and her coat she had spaced taking off at work she saw Soren watching a movie. "Surprise! I'm got off a bit early today. Thought I could grab some food for us." Shiariel then moved over to the kitchen area and placed the pizza on the table.
Once the food and drink were secure she turned to a chair and placed her lab coat on the back of it while her purse went on the counter leading into the cooking area. "I hope I remembered your favorite, it's been a while since I've... had...... to.........." Shiariel voice trailed off and her smile faded as she saw a second person with her son. With a flash of new color across her eyes Shiariel knew this person. Elizabeth Follen, Age 16, human. Anything more she'd need to actively scan her and Soren didn't like it when she did. "Oh a guest, I'm sorry. I'm Shiariel, Soren's mother. Nice to meet you. Would you like some pizza as well?"
