Aren found himself staring up into the sky in a rather secluded area of the park, something that he seemed to do quite often. His mind was constantly racing with a hundred questions about the shady Foundation, the group that had taken him from his home and experimented on him. He had been told a rather large amount of information about the group while he was captured however he still felt as if he knew nothing. Aren gripped onto the hard dive around his neck tightly. This hard drive was his only proof that everything that had happened for all of those years was real. It was something he should have just chucked into the ocean when he first got the chance but something prevented him every time. This hard drive was the last link he had to the Foundation and the only clue he had about his incapability of dieing or the mysterious ‘Red King’ he couldn’t get out of his head.

DeShawn already hated this place. Monsters, just walking around like they were people. Some vampire had had the audacity to ask him if he wanted to go out 'for a bite' as if that was somehow funny. Bastards, every one of them. Well maybe not all of them, but the point still remained.

Luckily he wouldn't have to be here too much longer. Reese had gotten eyes on the kid and the hard drive, which was a blessing. Extraction was going to be simple: he only sent Reese, Trevor, and Grayson out to collect Aren. He was watching of course, using a closed loop wireless connection to connect to the cameras on their clothes. He wanted to make sure that if anything went wrong he had details.

"Alright, target in sight. Move in for extraction Team 1."

The three soldiers pulled their balaclavas down to surround Aren as he moved to a more isolated part of the park.

Aren eventually ended up sitting down near one of the trees of the park. He tried his best to properly empty his mind and at least forget about everything, even if it was only for a few minutes. He emptied his mind, focusing on how the leaves swayed with the wind. It was rather relaxing for Aren, it was these moments that he appreciated most. Aren didn’t need to worry about anything, no Red King, no Foundation, nothing. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes happily.

The three soldiers surrounded Aren, hiding among the bushes and trees. Then they sprang. Coming in from all sides. Pistols down but at the ready. "Don't move," one of them barked in a hushed but authoritative tone.

"Looks like he's got the hard drive," said the second. "Confirming for containment."

From his hiding spot, watching on his laptop screen, DeShawn sipped his coffee and gave the affirmative. They were to move in and apprehend Aren. He couldn't die, but that was a net boon in their favor. They could injure him without worry.

Aren’s eyes jolted open at the men that suddenly surrounded him. Just from one look at them he knew what was going on, which sent Aren near immediately into a panic attack. “Oh god no no no no no. No I don’t want to go. No NO! Not again please. I don’t want to go back.” Aren started to hyperventilate, tears forming in his eyes. The sudden severity of the panic attack was strange, even for Aren. But Aren knew exactly who these men were and what they wanted to do. It was the Foundation, they had come to reclaim what was ‘rightfully’ their property.

The kid was panicking. They had considered this, but not to the degree that it was happening. From his hiding spot, DeShawn covered his mouth with his hand frustratedly. He gave the order to neutralize the kid. He would regenerate, so lethal force wasn't an issue. One of the soldiers cursed under his breath and took fire at Aren, aiming for the head to shut him up as quickly as possible. His pistol was silenced, but Aren was making plenty of noise on his own.

Voices were already rising up from around them though. People had heard the shouts and some of them were coming to investigate. DeShawn knew that they couldn't extract the kid in a situation like this. But maybe at least they wouldn't leave completely empty-handed. "Extract with the hard drive. Leave the asset. Grayson. Trevor. Run interference for Reese."

Aren couldn’t help but continue to panic about the situation. The one thing he had prayed to not happen had, and the Foundation was here to drag him back to the labs. Aren’s panicking was quickly interrupted by a sharp and intense pain in his head however, then suddenly everything went black.

Aren woke up in a familiar place, he was sitting on a hill overlooking a sea of red grass. As Aren looked around though there was one major difference. Usually Aren’s only company on the hill was a large and imposing tree, however the tree had been cut down, only its stump remained. On this stump was a large figure who appeared to be armored in some type of red metal. The being did not seem to even acknowledge Aren. Aren gulped audible and attempt to catch it’s attention. “E-Excuse me...um...who are you?” The figure remained quiet, staring out into the red plains. Aren stared at the figure for a few more moments before turning back to watch the plains as well. Once Aren did turn away the figure spoke in a deep and metallic voice. “Pushed and shoved throughout life. Carrying burdens quietly, away from prying eyes. But even lambs have breaking points. Show me they did not choose wrongfully child.” Before Aren could turn back to look the at figure he had woken up in bed in the dorms.
