Private Finished Uncharmed

Lycia swung their arms back and forth a little as they walked. Her expression all smiles. At least until there was the offer of caramel corn to munch on. Which she immediately began gobbling down a handful of.

"That sounds like a perfect plan. You will have to tell me what the dresses are like when we pick them though. Maybe they will have one that is super soft!" She excitedly bounced along with Zeke as they found their way into the shop.

It wasn't anything super fancy, since they were clearly on the student stipend budget, but that didn't mean there wouldn't be cute things to try on. Lycia wiped off her hands and then gave Zeke a hug before walking through the store with her arms spread wide. Feeling the fabrics and seemingly walking in whichever direction her whims took her unless something stopped her or Zeke or one of the clerks stepped in to help select things for her.

"I do not like the dresses that are too tight. I do not want to feel squished all of the time."

Lycia nodded along as Zeke thought out loud, stopping herself at what felt like something almost as smooth as water. The fabric, and not water because water didn't usually have any ruffles, was cool to the touch and very light.

That was a fun feeling! She snatched the silken dress off the rack and turned towards Zeke's soul to show it off. "Does this one look pretty? It feels pretty."

It was, actually a very nice dress. But also the tag in it made it absolutely clear it wasn't in their budget range.

And then she laughed because Zeke was already trying to show her something else, pulling her away a few giggling feet to feel something else. It was also soft, though not quite tk the extent of the other. It was also more affordable but she didn't know that.

Then she had to gasp and held both dresses up to her ears. "Yes, I do not want my ears to get cold." She shivered, remembering for the briefest moment how cold snow could be. And then her mind skipped on back to the soft dresses. "I want to see if they fit me"

Lycia's smile faltered when he explained how he would have to give her his money to afford it. She puffed out her cheeks in distaste at that idea. If only she had a whole treasury of her own!

But Zeke was already leading her away before she could turn the expression into comprehensible words. So she did what she always did- focus on the moment. Carefully she felt her way around the changing room and figured out how to put the dress Zeke had picked on.

After quite a few moments of rummaging sounds from behind the door, she unlatched it and peeked out. "What do you think Zeke? It feels a little bit too loose maybe." She was kind of thin and the dress was cut for someone with more robust proportions.

Lycia smiled and happily hopped once or twice to show off the not-quite-fitting dress and then waited patiently for Zeke to check the tag. "I like how it feels. I can try the other one while you look," she stated with a smile as she scurried back into the changing room to try on the expensive dress.

Which took far longer to put on as she struggled to avoid ripping it or falling over. Apparently not having a handmaiden definitely had strong disadvantages when donning nicer clothes. In fact, she couldn't quite zip it all the way up so she had to hold it in place as she reached out to wave at Zeke. "Can you help me? My arms do not bend enough for this one," she giggled and showed where the zipper was just a bit too awkwardly placed for her to easily reach it well once it got about halfway up.

Lycia smiled brightly and then slowly twirled, stretched her arms and legs and generally felt how the dress ...well, felt. It definitely wasn't oversized like the previous one. After moving about and giggling for a bit she stopped and turned back towards Zeke's voice.

"This feels... maybe not the same things to make it, but fancy like the dresses I used to wear at home. But... hmm." She paused for a long minute with her face scrunched up deep in thought. "No I do not want you to use all of the money for a dress. Then there will be no money for nee snacks and other things."

She did however suddenly spring forward and clumsily wrap her arms around whatever she could reach of Zeke in an impromptu hug. And gasped as a sudden thought struck her. "Maybe we can get you a pretty dress too!"
