There had been a bit of tension for the last few days, between Andrasta and Orsick. Ever since Dalia and Andrasta had their private talk, and they specifically didn't want Orsick to hear it. When Andrasta realized she kind of *liked* Orsick. In a like-like kind of way. She didn't know how or if to talk to him about it though, so now she was just keeping that whole talk a secret, and Orsick knew it.

So it had been awkward.

Now, Andrasta was waiting on the next round of detentions to let out, so she could get the students in Friday detention in on her campaign. In the meantime, she was walking by the lake with Orsick. They had been talking about other things. Dumb things that mostly didn't matter, like they usually talked about. All the while, Andrasta was still feeling that tension. There was a lull in the conversation.

"... So uhhh, remember Dalia's riddle from a couple days ago? What do you think it meant?"

Things had been awkward lately between Orsick and Andrasta in the days following "the incident" as Orsick was calling it. Or at least he was in his head. That said he thought their current conversation was bringing things back to their normal dynamic at least a bit. But that didn't last long, there's no way it could have. The question was bound to come up, and now Orsick was faced with a terrible truth.

"Oh... that..." he wasn't one to avoid eye contact when he did actually have eyes, but he was sort of looking away. "Well she told me I was wrong, tied a string to."

He inhaled as he went into his logic.

"Red string of fate means someone's dying or falling in love. Dalia can see people's relationships, and she wouldn't just act like that if I was dying. So I figured it has to be the latter. Dalia's also been acting like this since she saw us dancing together. And then you two went to talk privately."

He turned to face her, "I think you know where I'm going with this..."

Andrasta paused for a second. Why was it so hard for her to get the words out? It worked when she thought about it, when she muttered it in the shower as practice, but out loud to another human being all the words got stuck in her throat.

"Y-yeah, that's... I mean, when I talked to Dalia about it she told me, that's pretty much exactly it." Andrasta liked him. And she knew Orsick liked her back. Only that was too hard to say out loud, so she didn't.

And now she was blushing, too. Damn it. "You know, I was actually mad at her because I thought, since she pulled the string out of her jacket and tied it to you, I thought she was actually saying she was into you. So I got all jealous. Except... I didn't really realize why I was so jealous until after I left."

He could hear it in his head, several of his family members just somewhere out of sight yelling, "just kiss already". Orsick hated that feeling more than anything else. There was no reason to try playing things off anymore. So why was this so hard to just get out there?

"What the flip. Are we being stupid about this?" Orsick asked the obvious rhetorical question. He knew the answer was yes. He let out a hiss, not a human hiss, the kind you hear from an agitated reptile. "We like each other. You got jealous and had to face it. And up until now, I've been doing everything I can to avoid any sort of romantic anything. Where do we go from here?"

Andrasta had to think about that one. Or at least it looked that way. More like, she was taking a moment to quietly gather up the courage to do or say something. This was hard. Why was this so hard? It was stupid. They were both being so stupid.

She clenched her fist and squeezed. "Well..." Andrasta looked right at Orsick. She had been averting her gaze, out of some kind of fear or self-consciousness. But now she was making eye contact. "Maybe we should stop being dumb nerds about it."

Andrasta leaned forward and pecked him on the lips with a quick kiss. Then she pulled back to look him in the eyes again. A part of her immediately regretted doing this. It was terrifying.

They were being the dumbest of nerds about it. The kiss left Orsick's face almost as red as his hair. Drakenhardts were supposed to be better at the romance things than this. He wondered if it was like this for everyone starting out. What was he supposed to do now? He was staring at her like a dumbass.

"We kinda suck at this, don't we?" he laughed awkwardly and took Andrasta's hand, giving it a squeeze. "We'll be alright. I had fun dancing with you the other night."

Andrasta noticed how red his face was, and she smiled and chuckled, almost snorting. They held hands, with Andrasta's twisting in his grip so their fingers could interlock.

"I thought that was fun too... Also you're blushing a lot. Your face is super red."

She was able to hold it back for now - but if Orsick got too flustered about it or covered his face, she'd definitely start laughing. It was cute, in a way. It totally didn't match the way he usually acted, with his cool demeanor, or his family's reputation.

"Yeah, yeah I'm workin on it," he sighed. It wasn't getting much better having it pointed out like that. He took a breath, inhaling and exhaling. There it was. He was calming down. This wasn't a big deal, he was just making more out of it than it needed to be.

"Most people don't throw me off this hard. You won this round, but I'll get you back," he declared with a stupid grin on his face. It was sort of surreal all of this happening. He liked this feeling though, like things were just going to be alright. "So... what's the plan now? I guess we should tell Dalia so we can get the told ya so's or whatever she has up her sleeve out of the way huh?"

Andrasta would calm down a little too. She could tease him more later. Kiss him and call him a dweeb. Bully him for feeling love and affection and having a girlfriend, because she felt like a dweeb for having a boyfriend. She was thirteen. It felt kind of dumb, even if it was nice.

"You're the only one getting the I-told-you-so's," Andrasta said, "So that's up to you. But, I dunno. I guess we just keep hanging out like normal, except now we kiss more. Or something." They'd probably figure it out as they went along. She didn't know how this was supposed to work, or if there even was a 'supposed to' for this.

"You're probably right about that," he groaned, he'd definitely spent the greater part of the year being kind of an idiot. Dalia probably would be on it for at least a few days. This term's election was proving to have more moments of self realization for the young dragon. He kind of wanted this all along. Of course, he wouldn't admit that out loud under the threat of death.

"Everyone I know pretty much says if it's a good solid relationship you're basically best friends. But with kissing and stuff. We... we can just figure things out as we go along though," and there he went blushing again.

"I know. Don't say it."
