He too had loosened his hold on her, but she insisted on maintaining her hold on his hand. He didn't mind. He wondered why people would talk about her. If anyone were to start talking about him too, just because he was with her, he could care less. He felt the squeeze of his hand, with a bit more pressure, then smiled. "Alrighty. What to eat when we get there, I always seem to have a hard time choosing. Oh well, we'll figure somethin' out."

Eloi looked up at him, and felt comforted by his smile. He was willing to be there for her, and she was happy about that..She tried a smile without luck, but she knew she'd be okay. She let Deacon lead her into the cafeteria and as they opened the doors, Eloi winced, expecting the chatter to die down, and all stare at her. Though... That didn't happen.

She looked into the crowd, and even saw others that were similar to her. Some had wings, and animal ears and tails, and different things that made them different too. She bit her lip slightly, and looked up at Deacon, confused. So.. This school really was for people who had powers like her? The Mistress had kept her word... She was happy to know that...

When the cafeteria doors opened, Deacon looked around to scan their surroundings. He was looking around for an empty table for them to sit. He looked down at Eloi. She still had a rather unsure facial expression. Deacon shook his head. "It's alright. See this?" He pointed out nothing in particular. "This may seem unorthodox in other places, but here, just about everything seems normal. You ain't gotta worry 'bout a thing!" he said smiling.

Eloi nodded, and smiled a bit. This place was friendly to strange people. Though she was still scared. She hated being so scared, but she couldn't help it. She wondered if these children were rejected like she was because of their powers as well. The smell of food wafted through the air, and Eloi's stomach grumbled softly. She patted it, and looked up at Deacon. She was hungry!

Deacon looked down at her stomach as she had a hand on it. He guessed that it meant she was hungry. "Okay, okay, we're gettin' somethin'." He slowly proceeded to the counter where all the food was up for display. His natural red eyes analyzed everything in sight. He realized that they still they still needed a table to sit at. "Need a table..." His eyes wandered about, desperately searching for an empty table. "If ya see a free table, can ya point it out for me?"

Ugh, Eloi hated looking for tables. She remembered at the orphanage it was always so hard to find one... At least one where no one else was sitting. Eloi had found that if she had sat with the other children, she couldn't very well finish her meal, for she was too busy being called names. The other children weren't very nice to her at all. Eloi scanned the area as well, and saw a table in the corner or the cafeteria. She tugged on Deacon's shirt, and pointed in its direction.

Deacon was too busy trying to figure out what to take for both him and Eloi. He hated having to debate on what to eat. For him it was time consuming. He felt something, as if he was being pulled back by someone or something. He looked over at her and looked in the direction where she had pointed. He saw the empty table in the corner. That works, he thought. "Nice. Good eye." He turned his attention back to the food. "Ya see anything here that ya like?"

Eloi smiled a little, and ventured towards the table, and let go of his hand so she could hold it. She would let Deacon find food... What did she want? She didn't really know except... Cheesy noodles sounded yummy. She bit her lip, and looked over at Deacon. Her hand now held her scarf instead of his hand, and she made eye contact with him. "I don't really care... Though if you can find cheesy noodles that will be good." Sending him her thoughts, she turned back, continuing to the table.

She sat alone at the table, and her eyes wandered to and fro, growing a little uneasy. She hoped Deacon would hurry...

He watched her as she went on ahead to the table. Cheesy noodles? Whatever they were, he would now have to hurry to find them. He browsed through the counters looking for her cheesy noodles and whatever he would decide to get for himself. At long last (or about five minutes), he found the cheesy noodles. For himself, he got a chocolate chip muffin and some chips. "Figure I'll go light today." He went on to pay for their stuff and quickly rushed over to the table where Eloi had been saving for them. He handed over the chessy noodles. "There ya go! Enjoy!"

Eloi looked around her as she sat alone, nervous. No one was looking at her, but she was still worried they were talking about her. She fumbled with her scarf, folding the end of it on the table every which way, waiting for Deacon to return with something to eat.

He finally returned! Her eyes brightened slightly as he sent her cheesy noodles on the table. She clapped softly and gave him a smile to show her thanks. Though she stopped her excitement as she saw he wasn't eating much. She raised an eyebrow, and sent him her thoughts. "Not eating much...?"

She stuck her plastic fork into the noodles, and brought it up to her mouth. She watched Deacon, and made sure he was eating too.
