Indeed nothing was going to stop this guy from talking, not even a mute person. He watched her write something again. He leaned in to try and decipher the wording on that little scripture.

"You still want to talk to me?" it read.

Why not, he thought. Why would he stop talking? He took a moment to think of what to say next. She seemed to like the idea of pulling his ear whenever he would go overboard. He wouldn't mind though. He looked over to her again to answer.

"Is that a serious question? Why'd you think I came and approached you in the first place? 'Cause I wanted someone to talk to, of course. It sucks for me not having anyone to talk to."

Eloi looked up at the boy. Nothing was going to stop him from talking to her. It was nice, but silly at the same time. He was basically going to be talking to himself, because Eloi really didn't want to use her powers if she could write in the sand. If she could avoid using her powers, the better off he would be.

"It sucks for me not having anyone to talk to."

Eloi's own eyes widened, and she started to blush a deep magenta purple. He didn't have anyone to talk to? That was sad. Well, she knew what it was like, but she avoided people... She would only hurt them anyways. Even.. though.. she liked people.. sometimes.

Then, she wondered what his name was. No, don't ask him name. Maybe he'll get discouraged and leave. If she knew his name, that would mean that they'd become friends, and then her powers would take control, and she'd hurt him. No. She didn't want that at all.

He was... he was nice...

He looked at her again. "You're probably wondering why I might not have anyone to talk to, though it seems that I'm quite popular. Really, I'm not. Funny story behind that actually. A lot of people tend to get sick and tired of my big mouth all the time and they just start to ignore me. Some even think I'm annoying. It sucks being ignored, but I just have to deal with it, now don't I?"

He noticed her blush. What did I say to get her like that, he thought. Oh well. "But that's how life works nowadays...it just sucks."

Eloi looked at the man for a bit, and blinked. Her lips turned slightly upwards into a grin, and she bursted into laughter. She covered her mouth, and blushed even more. Why was she blushing? That was stupid. Her eyes apologized and her grin faded into her same emotionless expression.

"It sucks being ignored, but I just have to deal with it, now don't I?"

Sadness filled her eyes, and she nodded slowly. She knew what it was like to be ignored. She knew what it was like to be unwanted, given sedatives, and wanted to be forgotten about. It hurt her that people did that to her.

She was..afraid of people... Afraid for people... She hated being so afraid all the time. He seemed nice enough... But so did all the doctors who told her 'everything would be alright, these drugs will make your disease go away'. Was she a disease?

Deacon just stood there watching the girl. She had suddenly burst out in laughter and blushed again. He wondered what could be possibly going on in her mind, considering that she is mute. He took a deep breath before beginning to speak again. Indeed he would probably have to do all the talking in this case.

"I said something funny? Shocker." He took note of her facial expressions. From the looks of it, she seemed to be saddened by something for some reason. "Well, I have to ask this to every person I speak to nowadays, and usually I get the same answere, but, am I annoying you? Am I bothering you? Disturbing you? Troubling you? Making you feel uncomfortable? If I am, I'll stop. Promise."

Aww... Poor kid. He sure did seem paranoid about people not liking him. Though, Eloi seemed to like him enough... Though there had been few people in her life that would actually be patient enough with her to figure out what she was trying to say, or the point she was trying to get across.

Eloi looked at the boy with sincere eyes. It was a little wierd someone being nice to her, but she appreciated it. She shook her head in a light 'no,' to his question. She didn't think he was annoying at all. Perhaps she would have to show him her powers soon...

Then, she realized she didn't know his name. She smiled lightly, and wiped the sand clean again, and wrote out her name. "Eloi." She wrote, and pointed to herself.

A light smile curved Deacon's lips when she answered to his plea with a shake of her head. That usually meant "no". "Thanks, miss. By the way I wasn't kiddin' about the pulling the ear thing." He looked down at the sand again as she had written something again. The single word she wrote that time seemed hard to pronounce. When she pointed to herself after she had written it, he seemed to have an idea as to what that word might mean.

"Well, I'm sad to say that I've no idea how to pronounce that...perhaps I'll never know...Oh?...Oooohh!!! I get it! That must be your name, isn't it? Ah. Great. Though I may not know how to pronounce that. Well, for what its worth, my name is Deacon. That's D-E-A-C-O-N."

"Thanks, miss. By the way I wasn't kiddin' about the pulling the ear thing."

Amusement glittered Eloi's eyes and she nodded again, with a little smirk. She believed him, and whenever she had something to tell him, she would definately do some ear tugging. She just... hadn't yet.

She listened to him for a moment, and laughed as he explained that he didn't know how to say her name. Though whenever he started to go into telling her how to pronounce his name and such, she leaned forward and tugged on his ear lightly. She grinned, and nodded.

She wrote under her name. "Ah-loy. Like toy." Trying to help Deacon pronounce her name. And if he still couldn't do it... Maybe she would have to visit his mind al ittle.

Just as Deacon was about go into some more detail something random, such as his name, he felt his ear being tugged again. He looked at the girl, apparently named Eloi, and smiled. He was glad she did it though. He would need someone around to shut him up on occasion. "OH!...Okay I'll stop." After a brief moment of dead silence, he looked down at the writing under her name. He would try to read it out. "Ah...loy....Ah, loy...Ah-loy?...Did I say that right?"

Eloi smiled brightly as Deacon tried to figure out how to say her name. She laughed, and nodded as he asked her if that was right. She patted him on the cheek in a job well done, and laughed a bit more. It was amusing, definately. She then wrote next to the other things she'd written. "I was told my parents were French." She wrote, with a sort of sad smile. She never knew her parents, so they could have been making it up. Though she liked to believe she was French. That was kinda interesting that she actually liked about herself.
