well hey, hey baby it's never too late, pretty soon you
won't remember a thing. and i'll be distant as stars
reminiscing, your heart's been wasted on me.

- Elatia pattered her way out of the front doors of the school she called home, and as much as she loved learning and getting to know her peers in the classroom, the demi-fey princess needed a breather. She needed to reconnect with the outside, with the light. As she tilted her head back, skyward, Elatia frowned deeply. Her dark brows knit together in frustration — it was a poor cast kind of day. Bleak, gray clouds covered the sun she had come to love, though it would never burn as brightly as the one back home. But she had made her peace with that. A sigh burst from her pale lips before she let her feet take her down onto the grounds and into the courtyard.
As she cast her gaze around, Elatia noticed numerous other students and staff milling about. Some were eating, or reading. A few were practicing their abilities with their friends or alone. She gave a shrug as she drew in the light around her body, a faint shimmer pulsing around her small, petite frame. Her cool sea green eyes dropped to stare at the ground about five feet to her left. After steadying her breath, Elatia released the light from her open palm and watched it shoot forth from her hand to land about ten feet away from her desired spot.
"F'south!" Which roughly translated to 'damn it' in English. She stared down at her palm, having turned it upward so she could stare down at it in a very bothered way. Elatia knew it would take time and practice to completely perfect her gifts. After all, she was only sixteen. She had thousands upon thousands of years to learn. Alas, the demi-fey is an impatient one. Turning in a huff, Elatia took off in the other direction only to run into something, or rather, someone who had already been standing there. Her eyes widened in surprise. Nice going, princess, she thought to herself.
"I'm so sorry. Please, I sometimes forget where I should be watching." Had she said that correctly? The idea of English, the sounds that came out of her mouth when she spoke, were odd to her. Elatia released the breath she did not realize she had been holding, waiting for some sort of response.
