Ava was slowly getting tired of mulling things over in her head. That was the only way for her to properly work through emotional stuff, but she had been doing it for over a week now and Ava was about done. Her head was starting to hurt. So, she was going to do what she had deemed to be the best option.
Go to Titus and demand for extra training. But not just any training, training that was probably going to be tedious and boring. But that was just what Ava needed.

Ava had just come back from sparring club meeting and dropped her bag by the stairs, she'd pick it up when she went back to her room.
"Old man, where are you? I've got something to talk to you about!"
Ava hollered. Yes, she knew that if Titus was around he had heard her, but Ava liked making a point. She followed Titus scent to wherever he was, and stared his kinda dad down with a determined frown, arms crossed in her usual fashion.
"Teach me so I don't fuck up in the future anymore"
was all she said, Titus most probably knew what she was referring to.

Titus was in his office, not working or making lesson plans. He was just kind of relaxing, smoking his pipe as he often did when he had the chance. Just relish the relative quiet in the house before the animals came home to make noise in his general direction. Given another hour or so, and he'd probably nod off.

This was not what happened.

His quiet was interrupted by the familiar sound of Ava calling out to him as soon as she came in the door. Probably more stuff about the ocean incident. And to his predictions he was right. She wanted training. More intense training. He looked at her inhaling deeply through his pipe, then exhaling.

"That was my general plan, yes. Give you as many available tools as I can so when things like this happen, you're more prepared. It ain't gonna be easy though."

Damn this old man and his pipe, he purposefully took his time answering Ava. She huffed and tapped her foot against the floor impatiently, basically screaming at Titus to answer her already with her body language.
"If it was gonna be easy I would've refused to do it. Stuff like what I wanna learn isn't easy to achieve."
Ava said, rolling her eyes a bit when Titus stated the obvious. She walked over to his desk and leaned on it with her hand.
"Then, what do we do first? I owe it to myself and Ysolda to get my shit under control asap."
Ava was impatient, yes, but under the surface she was also nervous. Nervous of doing things wrong again. That was what was fueling her impatience, in actuality.

"What you're about to learn is something you're going to keep learning over the rest of your life. It doesn't just stop when I teach you everything I've got," he answered and stood up and stretched. "Sheesh, you had to be loud and impatient though. I was gonna take a nap and everything..."

Titus was being cheeky for the sake of it. Most people were aware of his nature in general. He made his way down the hall and into the kitchen.

"Pretty sure you're fairly aware of your shortcomings. There's no need to go over them since you've been beating yourself over this. No one's mad at you, you did what you knew. Never in a million years did I think you'd wind up fighting underwater. In a lot of ways though, the same rules apply there as they do on land."

He rubbed his chin and opened up a the refrigerator and began pulling out food. Then he opened a rather large box he'd left on the counter, revealing a large portable oven.

"You're gonna make yourself dinner using this. The recipe is on the paper I taped to the top of your oven. It should be simple enough, but you only got one shot at this, just like a real fight with real stakes. This thing is pretty simple, just put your hands on the metal handles on the side and heat it up. But it's tricky, and you'll have to get your timing right too."

It was a simple enough exercise, though Ava would find that the device would increase her heat output in proportion to how much she was actually putting in. Between that, maintaining the temperature, and the timing Ava was likely in for a frustrating night.

"I want you to master using this thing, got it?"

Ava listened patiently to the part where Titus was at least a little bit serious, but then he just had to go being all cheeky and talk about taking a nap. Ava rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
"Stop acting like you're actually old and suck it up! This is a bit more important than your useless beauty sleep."
Ava huffed, and followed after Titus to the...kitchen? Ava was about to ask why the hell they were in the kitchen, but Titus kept talking and since Ava wanted to take this seriously she listened. Though when Titus started pulling out food from the fridge Ava's patience ran out.

"Okay, what the hell?"
Ava asked, and she sure did get an answer in the form of a small oven and an explanation. Ava blinked and looked flabbergasted to say the least. Titus wanted her to...make food? Okay, the exercise kinda made sense, but Ava certainly hadn't expected this.

"Uh huh, sure, I got it..."
Ava answered slowly, and took in the oven. Seemed normal, excluding the fact that it ran on her heat. Ava could also cook, more or less, she already did many of her meals on her own. So that part wouldn't be a problem either. But...
"One question though. Do you have a spare?"
Ava asked and raised a brow at Titus, and she knew that Titus knew why she asked. Ava could already tell that this was probably going to be frustrating for her, and with her temper she might very well wreck this oven if she failed one too many times.
